Bonjour, Marechals of the Royal Navy.

I outfitted 1 XJ-3 "Lynx" fightercraft and deployed it to the RNS Guillestre, stationed in Tau-23. I then completed an hour of patrols around the Tau-23 sector, but no hostile craft were spotted - surprisingly. I was then alerted to a Colonial fleet in orbit around Leeds, so I headed there at best speed.

When I entered Tau-31, I noticed a peculiarity. A secondary fleet Colonial cruiser undocked from the IMG outpost at the hub of Tau-31, before quickly spotting me and re-docking on Holman outpost. A peculiarity, at least. When entering Leeds, I quickly spotted a Zephyr-class carrier and a Nyx-class fighter on the far side of Planet Leeds. The Zephyr was able to escape but I got into a duel with the poor Nyx - funnily enough, the Captain of the RNS Tonnant, a secondary fleet Valor, managed to completely destroy the Nyx utilizing the forward plasma launcher of the Valor. A commendable job, at least.

This concludes my report.

Bonjour Maréchal's,

Today we dispatched many enemies of the Crown including the Colonial Republic and Outcasts. Along with those an impudent IMG pilot insulting the Crown and Royal Navy. The battle commenced in Tau 23 beginning with Maurice Cornette dispatching the first Outcast and later his colleague whom appeared 'late' to 'avenge' his fellow companion. He too fell to the skilful Maurice. The Grand Maréchal who was Captaining the R.N.S Mont Blanc, proceeded to eliminate a Colonial Cruiser. The Cerberus Cannons cut through the Colonial like a 'warm knife through butter'. A response from the Colonials provoked yet another conflict resulting in the death of all Colonial vessels. I was then tasked with the destruction of a rude IMG pilot whom seemed to adopt a cowardly fighting strategy that involved in dodging non stop for 30 minutes. After the Blood Dragons were dispatched after provoking the courageous pilots of the Royal Navy, a pilot codenamed 'Carbernet' assisted me in the destruction of the IMG vessel. It seemed the incompetent fool couldn't handle two sets of Pot De Fer's firing at his petty vessel. That is all for today's patrol.

Bonjour Maréchal's,

This evening myself and Jean-Paul Bourdeau entered the New London system, when we arrived we were unsurprisingly captured. It seems like a running trend for the Bretonians now; we made our way to Planet New London when a Armed Forces pilot named Richard Sharpe popped up on our scanners. Bourdeau quickly engaged the 'threat' before more arrived to outnumber us. As we suspected another showed up, however not Bretonian. A Colonial called to aid the Bretonian challenged Bourdeau to a duel. I then dueled the Bretonian. After 10 minutes of fighting Liberty's 5th Fleet had sent two fighter pilots to outnumber us vastly. For some reason they gave myself and Bourdeau the courtesy to continue our duels. After a few more minutes of dueling, Bourdeau eliminated the incompetent Colonial. This triggered the 5th pilots to 'join in', Richard Sharpe decided he'd 'leave it' to the 5th. He made a brisk exit. The Libertonians targeted Bourdeau while I targeted the scum on his tail. Remi Gaillard came to our assistance minutes after Bourdeau was shot down. Luckily I tractored in his pod and returned it after the fight. When Remi arrived he skilfully made short work of the 5th pilots by using his Antimatter cannon to dispatch of them in a single shot. We returned to repair our tired vessels.

Haikei,

It's been... quite a while, Command. Having your cockpit sawed through by a barrage of laser weaponry can do that to a person. In my case - no doubt Command is already aware of the details, of course - it involved a months-long stay in the Oubli's medical bay while they put my spine and left arm back together. Complications in the procedure, too. Again, I'm sure Command is more than aware of such, so I won't harp on about it.

In any case, the bureaucratic mess left in ex-Grand Maréchal Xavier's departure with regards the Foreign Legion was finally cleared up this week, and - after being cleared by the med personnel again - I got myself back in the cockpit alongside a certain Aspirant Morin. He seems enthusiastic enough, though I can't vouch for his combat skills, since we didn't run into any trouble on our short sweep through Magellan and Manchester.

Shortly after the Aspirant went off duty, though, the Oubli picked up something interesting after all. Amazing how things only start heating up when I'm alone, isn't it? Someone up in the sky must have it in for me by now. In any case, the three unidentified signals soon resolved themselves into discernible contacts upon entering radar range. A trio of Colonials - a Hydra gunship, a Nyx fighter, and an Eros scout ship.

I radioed Oubli control for backup, and the secondary fleet cruiser Angers was dispatched to assist. The engagement was brief and intense, and in the midst of the commotion the Eros managed to slip away. Unfortunately, it was soon replaced by a Waran-class heavy bomber, which provided their gunship with fire support on the Angers. Not even this could save it, though, and with the combined firepower of my Lynx and barrages from the Angers' batteries, the gunship was destroyed.

From then on, the skirmish turned into a rout. The Waran pilot panicked without his supporting fire from the Hydra, and quickly found himself unable to maintain hull integrity under a hail of Musketoons. It took barely a few seconds before he, too, joined his comrade.

Finally, the Nyx's pilot decided to make a run for it, and began fleeing frantically towards the occupied Magellan Freeport. Had my Lynx been equipped with the popularly-named 'shotgun' loadout, he might actually have made it. Unfortunately for him, my rapid-firing Carbines and Musketoons chewed through his shield and hull at a terrifying rate, and he was shot down over twenty kilometers from his point of refuge.

With that short but rather intensive first patrol complete, I returned to the Oubli to file the appropriate paperwork. Not bad for a first day back, wouldn't you say?

Bonjour, Marechals of the Royal Navy.

I was on a patrol with Monsieur Launcelot when we came across a Colonial gunboat by the name of 'CR|-Firaeveus[K199]' and a Bretonian battleship, known as "BAF|HMS-Thunderer". Reinforcements quickly arrived on both sides - for our side, the Saint Nazaire, a Valor, as well as Madame Komatsu in a Lynx, while CR|-Sentinel[17th], a Waran, and CR|-Hard.Waves[52nd], a Nyx, joined the fight for the Bretonian side, along with a Bretonian Paladin by the name of Jonathan.Jefferson.

The fight proceeded apace, with the Saint Nazaire and the Thunderer trading blows. The RNS Obelix came in to assist when the Nazaire began to lose hull, while a gunboat by the name of Antoine "Honeslayer" came in to assist with the snubcraft. The Colonial Gunboat was quickly taken out of action, with the Colonial Waran following it not soon after. Eventually, the Saint Nazaire traded places with the nearly-destroyed Obelix, and with combined help from myself and Komatsu, it fell quickly to antimatter cannons.
Finally, the only remaining enemies were the Bretonian Paladin and the Colonial Nyx. The Paladin quickly fell to Monsieur Launcelot and his excellent piloting of his Cougar, while the Nyx fled from combined fire from myself and the Perilous, eventually diving into the sun.

Friendly Forces involved:
GRN|RNS-Saint-Nazaire - Valor: DAMAGED
GRN|RNS-Souverain - Valor: NO ENGAGEMENT
GRN|Mathis:Launcelot - Cougar: DAMAGED
GRN|Katsuko.Komatsu - Lynx: DAMAGED
GRN|Jean.Paul.Bourdeau - Cougar: DAMAGED
RNS-Obelix - Valor: DAMAGED/FLED
Antoine."Honeslayer" - Perilous: OPERATIONAL

Enemy Forces involved:
BAF|HMS-Thunderer - Dunkirk: DESTROYED
CR|-Firaveveus[K199] - Hydra: DESTROYED
CR|-Hard.Waves[52nd] - Nyx: DESTROYED
CR|-Sentinel[17th] - Waran: DESTROYED
Johnathan.Jefferson - Paladin: DESTROYED

Bonjour, pilotes,

High Command - or, more accurately, me, since Charbonneau's legacy of doing precisely nothing ever is still permeating through the rest of the command desk - announces the following rank adjustments:

Firstly, Capitaine Maurice Cornett and Lieutenant Mathis Launcelot - rather exceptionally, in his case, but this was determined to be long overdue - are hereby raised to the rank of Commandant. Amazing, n'est ce pas?
Aspirants Jean-Paul Bordeau and Florian Morin are raised to the rank of Sous-Lieutenant, following completion of their introductory periods.
Lastly - High Command has been bolstered by yet another transfer from the Royal Secondary Fleet. Maréchal Emile Evreux will be joining the Primary Fleet within the next few days, once all the paperwork is finally tied up.

The Royal Navy has been seeing excellent results recently in almost all our endeavours. I trust this upwards trend will continue.

In service to the Crown,

Bonjour Royal Navy,

Commandant Mathis Launcelot here. A little battle report from yesterday, and a very active one at that. The whole day just seemed to be filled with action, unlike most days when Bretonians and Libertonians stay in their hole. Moving on, seems they both have hired multiple mercenary groups, none of which should be a big threat, considering their choice of craft to hunt us in. Hope you enjoy these guncams. Until next time.

Bonsoir,

This is Charbonneau speaking. I have a little update on the previous announcement. The freelancers under the tag [FL-ER] decided to defy the Royal Navy once more and spit in the face of the King's generosity.
They threw away their only chance at a peaceful coexistence. Instead, they disrespected the brave crew of a Gallic warship that fell in a recent battle in the Manchester system and threatened the Gallic kingdom with further violence.

Now they will receive what they asked for.

'Free Lancing Escort & Repairs' is hereby considered a terrorist organization and is to be treated like one. Their pilots are to be executed with extreme prejudice when found within the Zone of Influence of the Royal Navy.

Give 'em hell.

Sender: Agent Supérieur Marius Duval.
Recipient: Gallic Royal Navy, Internal Transmission Center.
Topic: ONI Report: Southern Tau cluster exploration.

Pilots of the Royal Navy; intelligence operatives,

The following is my report on yesterday's scouting operation that is to mark the beginning of a series of operations, through which the Office of Naval Intelligence will expand and improve its star-charts and other intelligence databases.

ONI operatives Morgana, Nantosuelta and Sirona accompanied the Dea Matrona, the research and exploration vessel under my command that has been assigned to this series of operations.

I will now document notable events that occurred prior to, during and after our charting of the Baffin system - the first of many systems we are to explore more thoroughly than we have in the past. It is worth noting that the priority of charting Baffin was increased after the ONI was informed of a planned meeting between the BDM and GRN officials that is to take place there1.

On our way to Baffin, we encountered a Kusari Naval Forces patrol of initially four and later five men and women at Freeport Six in Tau-29. An incidental encounter that quickly proved fruitful, as I was able to acquire permission from the naval officers to, in the coming few days, pass through Kusari territory on our way to the Sigma cluster - a cluster that, too, requires further exploration. The audio log supplied below should provide more detail, if required.

Of course, we proceeded to our destination immediately after this run-in with Kusari's Naval Forces. This panoramic image was captured immediately after our passage into the system. A trail marked by buoys grabbed our attention, and led us straight to a - so far unexplored - jump anomaly within a large ice nebula.

Luckily, a Zoner vessel - a yacht of sorts - callsigned The Gremlyn jumped through the anomaly moments later. We took this opportunity to gather more information on the system, and interviewed the Zoner. Despite his odd and, at times, incomprehensible accent, we were able to acquire sufficient information - such as nav-map coordinates of notable planets and man-made structures - to plan out the rest of our operation. Again, I will supply a full audio log below.

We then set off to the coordinates supplied to us by the Zoner. Little of interest was found within the nebula - now identified as the Barrier Nebula - as we passed through it. At the coordinates, however, we found a somewhat atypical station. While it resembled a Freeport, it was larger than the ones we have found so far. It was either unaware of our presence or lacked weaponry, as we took no fire from the station gunners. The Temporary Autonomous Zoners, allegedly, base out of the installation. According to our Zoner source, the installation is nicknamed "Shasta". No further information is available on it at this time.

Operative Nantosuelta then spotted another trail of buoys which was, of course, promptly investigated by us. Unfortunately, I am unable to provide a substantial amount of information about our findings at the end of the marked trail. It led us, once again, into the Barrier Nebula. There, we found another installation. The gunners aboard this station, however, did not welcome our presence, and opened fire on the Dea Matrona as soon as we came into weapons range. As such, all I can provide is this low-quality guncam shot of the installation's silhouette. Within this nebula, and at a range of five clicks, we unfortunately couldn't capture a clearer image.

Knowing there was little to be gained by staying near this installation - which, given its hostile response to our presence likely alerted the organizations that inhabit the Baffin system - we chose to return to the station we previously discovered.

On our way back, operative Nantosuelta alerted us to the presence of what appeared to be a TAZ security vessel. The vessel - later identified by Nantosuelta to be of the gunboat class - rapidly approached the Dea Matrona. While we certainly had sufficient forces present to deal with the potential threat, we deemed a direct conflict so close to the Zoners' own installations unbeneficial.

The following guncam shots were taken during our encounter with the TAZ vessel:

As such, my team aboard the Dea Matrona spooled up our cloaking device. Operatives Nantosuelta and Sirona docked with our ship, after which the device was activated, rendering us invisible. This marked the end of our operation, and we made our way back to the Tau-29.

The following audio log covers all communications that occurred after our encounter with The Gremlyn up until the end of the operation:

This concludes my report,

Marius Duval
Agent Supérieur of the Office of Naval Intelligence
