Would have been if there still was a London gate. As it stands only LD14 (protected by a single BS) and a dockable smuggling point behind Planet Leeds remain accessible to anyone hostile with Gallia. All other bases are either destroyed, moved (in case of BS) or captured.

Update during forum outage:
- Worked on Oita and Okinawa.
- Created a "smuggler satellite" that basically functions like a docking ring. Freighter/Fighter only. Can be used to create a smugglers point on select planets.
- Started to overhaul MBases in regards to factions that can dock at certain stations. Big job, but it'll help with server stability.

I'm interested in this smuggler thing. I liked the multiple docking rings on the planet in Coronado. that was pretty good.

RE: A dev's log. - Xelon - 10-01-2012

It was posted somewhere else in this subforum that only Freighters or smaller ships could dock on those "smuggler" Dockrings.

I'm not sure though.

Effectively, they're docking rings with a new model. Same restrictions apply. They'll probably be given the same treatment as some pirate bases, making them unmappable, unless you purchase an infobribe. Means the GRN won't have a permahostile target on their contacts list.

Which planets will get the treatment? Planet Stuttgart would be a good start. Angel What about one like Planet Gaia? Could make for super Gaian wildlife smuggling possibilities.

Only Leeds for now. Bit of a discussion going on on how these kind of things should be implemented.

Dev update:
- Implemented the IMG heavy transport that didn't make it into 4.86
- Finished a pass on the mbases file. Should help the NPC population in terms of what cargo they can carry and which bases they could dock at. Should also help with server stability a bit.
- Riverside station becomes a Synthfoods base.

Next major tasks:
- New weapons for specific factions - Gonna need a chat with Blodo on that one
- Adjust NPC loadouts and ships - they'll hopefully end up about the same difficulty for each faction

RE: A dev's log. - AeternusDoleo - 10-09-2012

Dev update:
- Ran into a snag with the NPC ships. For some ruddy reason I can't get the NPC ships to work with the new proto's. Guess I'll have some more digging to do on the subject.
- Started work on the various fighter weapons. Started out by sorting and doing a consistency check on the weapons_equip ini. Already squashed a few bugs, one of which probably caused the issue with mortar hits not showing up all the time.
- All fighter turrets and gun lines have their speeds made consistent. IE: If the gun line is 700m/s, the turrets will be as well.

Next task:
- Create turrets for gun lines that are missing a turret version of the class 8 or class 9 gun. Exception will be the Debilitator series (and Gallic civvy series) - balance mentioned that this would make VHFs with a forward facing turret too powerful. Not sure I agree with that, but it's not my call.

Nice to know, and any completely maybe rough whatever timeframe for release? I doesn't have to be right or accurate, just a rough estimate. Will it be this year or next even?

YAY! Big Grin

No idea on a release date. Depends on the levels of motivation of the dev team. I'm not going to pin myself to a deadline.
