I wouldn't worry. I believe we are more than capable of dealing with the new threat. Plans of action are irelevant, we will act as the future events develop:)

GRN invasion, will give my rag tag group something to shoot. Well while not already committing acts of genocide. But all for a real purpose.

That is, not limited too, tearing up the boundaries that have been there for years will leave pockets and gaps.

I am sure few as myself will exploit every single one of them.

The massive push will cause a recourse that in the end prove why you don't push to hard on a war harden society. Sirian's have been through war time and time again. And what the Gallic Forces don't realize is the unwillingness to die. As they won't I am sure. Though after looking at the stats of every system, nation, base -because I am fanatical about things of these nature, I have found that Sirius population is very very and too small. Seems war has taken it's toll.

And that is what Gallia is going to experience when they enter into the war zone of Sirius. Pockets of guerrilla warfare and small populations. IT would take years to clean one system to another. Little by little the war will ware away at Gallia to the point of stress and collapse. And I knowingly view this out of our hands but sometime after 4.87 I predict the start of a the stagnate of the Gallic- Sirius conflict.

Lets be rash it is an Gallic - Sirius conflict.

IF societies cannot come together without facing complete regime changes certainly they won't for a oppressor with such military force.

Bretonia o'bean I am sorry to say you're the first to receive the guns. Kusari was smart to back down, so was IMG. You can win the battle today and lose the war tomorrow. Or lose the battle today to win the war tomorrow. It is the House's choice.

But while Kusari is attempting to stay out of it their choices will cost them greatly. Weakening themselves. Just like Liberty. There is no advantages being secluded with Isolationism. There is no hope when you deny that you're not apart of the entire human race. Only an selfish indifference of compassion.

Liberty, will see Bretonia being threaten. Only bordering house between the aggressors. They will watch and wait and worry. A threat of two wars will cause them to make irrational decisions and while SOME in Liberty wish to expand the war with Rhienland they willingly ignore this. Trade will be stiffed again as Bretonia is in statewide disarray. Liberty will be starving for it's economical threshold it once had. Only to realize that it's only economical power was to feed on other nations. Now that they are dropping out Liberty will be alone.

Rhienland; While their trade was complemented by Kusari that will end too. Leaving a grave sight for growth. The death of the last hope Sirius had to hold their own. This era is cold, unfruitful and unforgiving.

Dark ages of Sirius has begun. War, lack of trade infrastructure, low population and no one willing to make ends meet. All the houses brought this onto themselves.

Hmm I think it's cute....

Its a scifi story guys. They are not going to delete your characters or something. Just enjoy the ride.

I am pretty heavily invested in Bretonia and am looking forward to seeing how this will go.

Its a free game with an evolving history, revel in it. You won't see something like this ever again.

I certainly hope not!

As far as I can see the intention of 4.86 is to make the game more attractive to certain types of player, probably by enticing them over from PvP and Total War servers and it should be great for those who want to fight battles and PvP duels. For those who want to participate in a thriving community, it is far less attractive. Why bother with with traders, miners, etc? Why not just concentrate on fighters and warships? Most factions will no longer be relevent to the storyline and can easily be done without, so why bother with them. Interstellar commerce will have to go to a war footing, because even if your faction is not directly involved in the conflict it will have to follow economic demands. Food prices will soar, as will raw materials necessary for ship building or other military service requirements, while prices of non-essentials will plummet.

Traders will realistically avoid the contested areas because they could well be shot at by both sides in case they are supplying the 'other side', so commerce will come to a standstill in virtually half of the Sirius systems. Only convoys will be able to travel in these systems and then only if escorted by military forces, which will make them fair game to be attacked by the opposing military forces. The exception being for an occasional trader that is desperate to make a profit and even then it will only be for those using small freighters as no reputable trader is going to risk their transports in such areas.

My own situation as such a trader is that with the Gallia/Bretonia/Tau systems in conflict (with Kusari and Liberty likely to be dragged into it) on the left of the map and the Nomad/Wild/Order conflict still in effect (and there is no way it should not be) on the right, there is nowhere left to realistically run a business in Disco anymore. I have tried playing in the Gallia systems and decided to avoid them llike the plague (as it seems most other players are doing, because they are always virtually empty!) and if 4.86 becomes a reality I will most certainly be not only avoiding them, but almost everything to the left of Magellan/Cortez.

I think I will just start up a new character as a Nomad, develope it up to a Capital ship and then fly down to Bretonia and offer my services to fight the Gallic invaders.

After all, why shouldn't I? "Its a scifi story ......... Its a free game with an evolving history, revel in it!"

Or perhaps I should just start looking for another mod that isn't only looking to cater to the 'I want to shoot it!' crowd.

I just hope that 4.86 is a long, long time in developement, so that I get plenty of time to enjoy Disco while it is still a good Rp server!

I think you missed the part where Kusari and Bretonia called a ceasefire. I think it'll be an interesting new dynamic to political bordering. Gallia has gone from fighting with each other to fighting a war that will potentially end up on 1-2-3-4 fronts. That's right, Kusari, Bretonia, Outcasts and IMG. That's not including any house pirate factions like Mollys Blooddragons and GCs, or House Corps. I can even forsee Junkers and Corsairs getting involved. Potentially even zoners. I think in the end the pirate factions are who will turn the tide. Overwhelming odds in numbers? Highly supplied, resource rich totalitarian monarchy? Sounds like fun.
