When you see a Reaver in the system, either LEAVE or log another character. You either like the Reavers or you inevitable hate them. Not much middle ground really.

Reaver Mercenary Co. - BaconSoda - 07-20-2011

As much as I hate to bandwagon, I'm on much of the same page as Daedric and Kalliste. Most of the time, I don't really care about whether or not someone wants to keep mining or trading or pirating in the same system after I have killed them. So long as they're agreeable, hey, who cares. I got what I wanted, you deserve to get what you want too. In fact, just yesterday I spoke with a BowEx) OoRP after I disconnected in a fight (router died) about how he wanted to mine on his BMM- and whether or not I would come after him. I told him I might. Did I ruin his night by doing that? No. He ended up going to mine and I ended up chasing a Corsair Cruiser through the Taus. Oh well.

We're not malicious people. We don't want to ruin your day. We just want to play our role. In fact, it says that in the OP:

Quote:If you feel very strongly that your game experience is being ruined because the environment in which you find yourself is not what you are looking for I would suggest you log in another character until either the environment changes or you do. Sometimes I'€™m in a fighting mood, I'€™ll play on my Mercenary. Sometimes I'€™m in a mood to build a commercial empire, I'€™ll play on my IND. Sometimes I'€™m in a pirating mood, I'€™ll login my Junker.

That I wish to fly my Whale and smuggle about does not justify admonishing a person who is in a pirating mood. He'€™s here to have a good time as much as I am. I made the choice to play the role I wished to play. If I don'€™t want to deal with other people and simply run about winning I'€™ll fire up Fallout 3. Because I have an overpowered Gauss Rifle and can rule the world with it.

Sometimes we win. Sometimes we lose. Win a few and lose a lot is really my motto in life. If I really want to win, I'm going to go back to playing Morrowind and maybe finishing the main storyline or play Guild Wars and play the new Canthan storylines. If I want a real challenge, I'll log on my Reaver and stalk someone. It's not worth admonishing the RM (who are mostly much better than I am) for coming to attack me in the Omegas because I know it's their job to come and attack me in the Omegas. If I didn't want to fight RM, I should not have logged on to my Reaver.

Hey, can you guys train me to better my PVP skills?! No, seriously.

Reaver Mercenary Co. - Zapp - 07-20-2011

The Reavers aren't really special PVP gods, we know what we're doing, work as a team, and have a reputation; that's really enough. If you want some sparring practice in Conn, I could move a ship there if you want though. I'm nowhere near as good as I used to be :\ And I was never good at 'training' to start.

EDIT: Also, what they all said. I'm not a jerk about it. I kill you, you want to keep mining or whatever, that's fine.

Reaver Mercenary Co. - BaconSoda - 07-20-2011

To be honest, if you found us ingame and asked nicely, we might do it. We've done it in the past with random people who has asked; Corsairs, Mollys, Liberty-folk. It depends on what is going on and the person you're asking, but that's not outside the realm of possibilities.

' Wrote:I'm going to be honest and frank and state my opinion, I'm not going to sugar coat it. This is my opinion and how I act when I am Reaving.

BMM can claim to be demoralized all they want, I know four ex BMM members who left due to the factions current leadership, all of them say that BMM is dieing due to its current leadership. All four of them. I've seen activity logs from one of them and that person made up the bulk of BMM's activity last month. That person never once came to be complaining about the Reavers. Not once.

I'm sure getting blown up sucks. I hate getting blown up on my miner and my trader. What I suggest is for the BMM to do what other factions do when they encounter pirates or mercenaries. Either hire security, or run more of your own security. It might not always save your mining operation, but it isn't going to hurt. You can only get better at PvP by doing PvP. There is always the aspect of bribing us not to shoot you. I promise you, if you offer my character the right amount of money, I'll take it and walk.

As for actually killing you? I've always operated in the following fashion: If you role play with me, don't rule lawyer me, and don't whine. I'll let you continue mining after I kill you, hell I'll even sit with your dropped ore and let you have it. All that you have to do is ask. Do the other Reavers do that? I dunno. I won't speak for them.

I'm not trying to be a arse or a dick about it, but claiming that we are killing two factions is absurd. Those factions need to look at themsevles before they blame others for their lack of activity (Not saying they are blaming us). Being creative inRP also helps, every BMM I ran into insulted my character inRP was was gungho about fighting. None of them tried to talk their way out of the ensueing fight. I can't say much about the BPA, in all my time as a Reaver, I've only seen one of them. One.

@ Chopper

Read the Tech Chart. The Merc ID is white cell to the GRN. Said white cell doesn't carry any ZoI restrictions. We are free to use GRN weapons, Sirius wide until an Admins says otherwise. Once an Admin says otherwise, I promise you my GRN equiped Sabre will remain in the Taus (Easy promise to fulfill as it already stays there).

As leader of BMM i feel its important to make come things clear:

- I personally do have qualms with the reavers. They aren't great enough for me to go crying and complaining to the forum however.
- I don't mind fair fights. I don't mind it when Silver.Reaver comes looking for a fight. I do mind it when you get 4 ships to destroy a 3-ship mining operation with 2 snubs (just-an-example™), not everyone in BMM is here to PvP, its not a PvP faction. BAF| is however. All I'm trying to say is, if you guys pick a large fight on us, can you try balancing it so both sides can enjoy the pew pew?
- I wouldn't say BMM is that demoralized. However I WILL start complaining to the forum if the majority of my members are ticked off. Again that's currently not the case. BMM didn't issue a complaint, so i don't want to see people flaming us when we never brought anything up on the forum.
- I can go on ranting about the way reavers work, but for me it boils down to the fact that reavers are mercs. They shoot to kill. Pirates shoot to earn money directly from the victim. it's one thing when a pirate group wants to screw up a mining operation, and another when its a mercenary group. sure this works iRP, but i personally just don't how that works right :/. if MM~ does the same to IMG (shoot large mining ops), then ill shut my mouth on this one:D

- As for the comments about my leadership. BMM seems to be doing well off right now. I don't appreciate the punches towards me when i never gave you any bullcrap. And i don't know where the other 3 examples came from, but I only got complaints from the one you mentioned.

p.s. kudos to silver I enjoyed every 1v1 we had thus far xD. I'll SNAC you in the face one day though :shok:

ok now that's over, i have personal questions about reavers

Do you RP yourselves as a big organization? a small one?: meaning the amount of characters you currently have?
how exactly do they earn money? Do they earn a large share of what they kill?

I'm just wondering because if they do iRP, become rich from the faction, wouldn't they want to retire?
(this section is not a critique. If you do think so, ill smack yeh  )

Reaver Mercenary Co. - Zapp - 07-20-2011

We do retire every few months. Then we run out of money again because we literally bathe in booze. That stuff gets expensive. So we sober up enough (or not) to fly out and continue our careers.

While that's a pretty sophomoric take on it, it's not far from the truth. The history of the Reavers as a faction is mainly about spurts of activity followed by some downtime. During those spurts, hundreds of millions of credits can (and have) been earned, especially when Hribek was an active member.

We are a relatively small group. We 'own' one base, the Armstrong in Coronado, and RP its crew away as Reavers. We don't plan on taking any military forces head-on, but for hits and runs we're game for just about anything.

Reaver Mercenary Co. - Avalanche - 07-21-2011

On the activity tracker, you've gone from 12:16:02:33 yesterday to 10:07:50:55..

Whats happened there?

Reaver Mercenary Co. - BaconSoda - 07-21-2011

The activity tracker seems to have some of our activity from the month of May or June in there. We noticed that it seems to update that on the 21st of each month. Or at least I think that's when it updates. >.>

If that's not it, a little strange, but overall not detrimental. Maybe someone recycled a character or two. Oh well. I don't think it really matters.

Reaver Mercenary Co. - Avalanche - 07-21-2011

Ah right, yeah would explain it. I'm not saying its bad or anything negative, just curious. We've over taken you now! :D

Edit: I also don't trust the tracker too much, I flew 4 hours on [M]-IngloriousBastard2 today and its still at 0:00 time... Can never be too sure.
