Canadian Systems - onca - 07-06-2008 Hey, at least Canada _has_ systems! Canadian Systems - ProwlerPC - 07-06-2008 I am Canadian and I shouldn't be talking like this but here goes. For the sake of easy modding, add Canadian star systems, named after the provinces. They should be in between Gallia, Bretonia, and Liberty. Each of these three houses may own parts of these "provinces". Put BC near ON, they are both by Liberty representing the strong influence America has on these two. Put Quebec and the East Coast with Gallia as everthing around the St Laurent was originally France. The rest may go to Bretonia. The lands from Lake Superior to the Mackenzie Valley in the Yukon were Hudson Bay Company (Originally Britain). And the poor Canadians? Well they would be considered an unlawful faction by these three houses as they are trying to not only gain their freedom, but also to acquire the systems off their parent colonies. Afterwards the setting would be perfect to create a New Canada house faction for the mod that follows. Sorry fellow Canadians if this hurting national pride. I would like to see our country represented, but with time and patience. Which would be similar to the time and patience it took in real life to form our beautiful country. Good things come to those who wait. Canadian Systems - DarthCloakedGuy - 07-06-2008 Canadian systems are already there. Quebec, Ontario, Hudson... already there... >.< Canadian Systems - Xing - 07-06-2008 We know. we were suggesting a certain change of location to them. Canadian Systems - ProwlerPC - 07-06-2008 I never saw Liberty's Hudson system representative of Hudson Bay. I believe the developers had Hudson River that runs through the southern terminus of New York state in mind so it can be left alone. I never did notice Quebec in FL, not that I'm interested in visiting. What I see is potentially the slow birth of a House System that mirrors the slow birth of the Canadian country. The integration is gradual tech wise, the RP would be rich, both when Canadians are considered unlawful and later when the three colonies have to accept their independance and trade routes are established. The gradual shift would allow the experienced players to post all the ideas needed to create ship lines, new trading companies etc.... Big picture thinking in hopes that this Discovery FL continues for an extended period of time. Canadian Systems - Turkish - 07-06-2008 ' Wrote:For what its worth, shouldn't the Canadian systems belong to Gallia? Because when I think of Canada I think of France... isn't Canada of French decent or something? Bzzuhh??? Canada was originally a colony of the Crown, as such subsequent settling was done English, Irish, and primarily Scottish citizens in most areas, though it is very diverse in nature. Later on the ethnic populations grew as expansion of the area was conducted. The only truly French section of Canada is Quebec, which was in its origins a colony of France, this was latter lost to British forces after a series of conflicts between the two waring states, ending with the signing of a treaty to maintain French culture and lifestyle so long as they were a recognised part of Canada, and subsequently under Crown rule. /End nationalistic rant. Canadian Systems - Dieter Schprokets - 07-06-2008 ' Wrote:Bzzuhh??? There are also French "pockets" all over canada, esp Northern Ontario. My wife is Penetang French. But Canada's primary source of settlers during and after confederation was certainly the UK. Canadian Systems - AdamantineFist - 07-07-2008 ' Wrote:And the poor Canadians? Uh... unlawful? Only rebels we had were a bunch of farmers who got put down extremely quickly and a bunch of radical French separatists. We got our independence by asking nicely. ;) Canadian Systems - BaconSoda - 07-07-2008 ' Wrote:Uh... unlawful? Moar angry Farmers! :D Canadian Systems - Walker - 07-07-2008 I vote Canada should be their own house and all houses are hostile to them. Theyve gone with neutrality for FAR to long. ^_^ |
