So you basically got nowhere yet... As long as there is no real reason to unite other than the sake of unity, people won't do it.
RE: United Zoners [ Still In process ] - Feedback - Cris - 06-26-2013 I think this will eventually turn into a big zoner group with power, bullying smaller zoner groups with little power under the excuse of representing the majority of the zoner population, when they will actually be representing a minority with power, to preserve status quo and their interests. Just like it happens with factions and skype friendships nowadays and just like it happens in the U.N too; but I could be totally wrong. I think this could work if whatever policies you implement only affect the members of the union, and don't claim to represent "all the zoner bodies", even less enforcing said policies on non member states I mean factions. RE: United Zoners [ Still In process ] - Feedback - Wolfs Ghost - 06-26-2013 Fun fact: This has been tried and has been brought to it's own knees four times over the course of a few years. Hence why we have the 'Council of Freeports' now. I wouldn't go that far, economy ( and with zoners eco is stronger then firepower ) can deal a massive blow to them, restricting them from accessing goods, with the helps of the elders for instance.. there are many possibilites but I reckon your arguement, it needs to be flawless but it can't be flawless. You can achieve pretty much anything with diplomacy, if one fails to meet its obligations it'll be punished, united nation sanctions is a good example of a massive none-violent blow that kills them within. RE: United Zoners [ Still In process ] - Feedback - Bakamono - 06-26-2013 It's like you totally misunderstood the Zoner thing. This idea is irrelevant power-gaming bureaucracy, not the zoner way: it is the house way. Maybe you should bend your efforts towards one of the recently stripped official corp factions, something like this might fit well there. Economy is a double edged sword, don't forget that the Zoners supply mostly exotic/luxury stuff into the houses lorewise- they get crucial and 10% survival relevant stuff from the houses in return. Yes maybe the iridium prices may rise if the Core gets the only supplier( that is actually the only really interesting commodity i can think of) - but if the big companies decide there is no more MOX and H-Fuels out there for the Zoners- then it's game over time....same for food... Furthermore....not to drag in real life politics...but the UN...really? MAybe as a comparison for a weak figurehead organ....they won't deliver any "deciding blow" against any big house aka nation. Life is giving and taking, action and reaction and so is rp....you can't strongarm around ignoring obvious weaknesses.....if you want diplomatic successes you have to play it smart not by muscle flexing RE: United Zoners [ Still In process ] - Feedback - Sabru - 06-27-2013 "rewind the diverse groups that we currently have." Really? so you would want all zoners to be the same? then they wouldnt be zoners. This could be compared to (real world) communism, and in Disco the SCRA. a few people holding power over the majority. Not the Zoner way. perhaps, as someone suggested, why not go work with one of the house shippers that arent offical. or maybe make a coalition faction to rival the SCRA. RE: United Zoners [ Still In process ] - Feedback - Zen_Mechanics - 06-27-2013 Rod I intend to use both, the plan in theory is good but what are its chances of success?I ddon't kbnow. Having said all that, if you think you have something more .. efficient, a better idea that is, I am keen to hear from you. RE: United Zoners [ Still In process ] - Feedback - Major_Mayhem - 06-27-2013 As discussed before the "Zoners" are a very diverse group and survive by adapting to and dealing with the locals. As usual there are the hostile groups, which must be kept occupied in order not to hamper the safety of the Freeport. Major hostilities are around FP10, Tau-37 with OC vs. IMG Or FP9, O. Theta, OC vs. Sairs & BHG vs. Sairs FP11 BHGC vs. Order FP2, Bering, Liberty vs Rheinland As you see "diplomacy" is to be applied locally for each group to survive. Therefore a Sirius-wide entity which enforces Zoner-diplomacy is bound to fail. This is also the biggest challenge that sirius-wide operating Zoner-factions have to face. Because if you buy goods from a faction you most probably have to transport it through their enemies territory. However, as I see the Zoner-Community there is the usual case of other Freeports sending help to assist other Freeports. One group which follows this is kind of RP the [FPDF] (FreePort Defense Force). They are, however, currently stationed ad FP9, for obvious reasons. Zoners are much to diverse for one faction to rule them all. Freeports are a good way to represent the local Zoner group, it doesn't really work when you go bigger than that. |
