He got messed over in a powerplay or something, was head or 2ic I think, but then got sidelined in rp. So his RFP character quits in a rage and joins the Bundschuh. I thought that was awesome, not some guy thinking about 'my RFP guy' or 'I want a bundschuh guy,' but just rolling with the character and seeing where that goes. Even better for me since I had a Bundschuh that met him when he was on both teams, which was some quality roleplaying times.

This kind of stuff is really neat, yes. I've read so many biographies stating their character "used to be this" and "used to be part of this group", yet hardly ever has this been played out, and even more rarely would the players behind the characters consider moving factions if it's appropriate inRP.

Interesting that my signature contains a character that did exactly this (bandit)

Lovecraft
The Berserker series by Fred Saberhagen
There's a bit of Star Trek in there, but where isn't there Star Trek?
A few western films. Only way to properly play Libertonian unlawfuls
Half-Life
Bolo series by Keith Laumer

A few varied television shows and random books I had read, but mostly my characters and stories were of my own imagining. I only used literature and cinema to hone my understandings of an atmosphere I was trying to create. How I developed my roleplay style.
