Seriously though, anything wrong with Corsairs exporting Slaves? 8|

Looking for a broad-wide feedback to that idea btw

Quote:The Corsair lore says that Sairs were always against piracy.
Quote:And where dah hell you come up with corsairs being against piracy?

Ooooops, I actually mean slavery, not piracy.

Quote:do not enforce this nonsense unto others.

Its you who enforce nonesense to others. I do not go and yell around that OPG must be knights or some kind of stuff. Go be greedy bastards who murder children. We are Corsairs after all. But slavery wasnt part of Corsair lore. I see no reason why we should start it now. If you so eager to be slaver go and make Outcast or Junker. Those are top slavers.

Quote:And since some players took liberty and misused they power they now force me to abide the corsair law which is grounded not in the lore of the faction, but personal biases of the players.

Point me where our law is not are part of a corsair lore, or simple logic.
Besides, this is Disco. We have limitations here. Without laws/rules and limits people will go into worst way of playing game. EVE is one of example. Players have nearly full freedom there, and you see scamers, gankers, insuts, racists and rest of bad things.

If you do not like the limits official factions made in a past - do not play corsair.

RE: Corsairs and slavery - chase.way - 01-26-2014

Quote: Soon, Etna Base became a prominent destination for prisoners, captured pilots, and even civilians kidnapped and sold into slavery.

Quote:Emboldened by their success, the Corsairs began scavenging every battlefield for bodies that could be harvested to keep their injured comrades alive.

Quote:Once wealthy Corsairs on Crete learned of the availability of young, healthy organs, demand for the procedures quickly developed as a way to rejuvinate the sick and elderly.

Quote:The profit potential of selling human organs throughout Sirius to the desperately ill, or the wealthy whose bodies were being worn out through a decadent lifestyle swiftly turned a gruesome life-saving procedure into a major business operation.

The Corsairs were unable to meet the huge demand from the limited facilities on Etna Base, so a deal was struck with a nearby independent facility to operate an additional mass organ harvesting operation. Today this operation supplies various medical facilities throughout Sirius with the human tissues necessary to replace organs failing due to sickness or old age, and provides the Corsairs and their partners with a substantial, steady stream of credits.

Still waiting for people who oppose the idea to show us lore hatred toward slavery, and lore explanation of this Corsair honor thing that obviously infested the empire.

Take slaves, rob them of their organs, stitch them to Corsair brethren !

P.S. People who deal in slavery as exporting are Junkers and Rogues, both being into Artifact smuggling business as well, so no...we're not making OC economy stronger, if anything we're taking their precious slaves to save our lives and not making their life easier.

Thats actually the only way Corsairs could ever use nonCorsaris.

Also some organs were taken from fallen corsairs too. Sad to see this commoditie to go. That is one of a Corsair true use of nonCorsair people.

RE: Corsairs and slavery - ProfGiggles - 01-26-2014

So because you feel limited by the Corsair laws you think they need to change?

Nobody is forcing you to abide the laws, only if you don't then the council will pass judgement.. And so what?
If I were feeling limited by the laws in the real world, should I then suggest they be changed so I can do whatever I want without consequences?

And making them dig out artifacts for rich Don's isn't a use of nonCorsair ?

You give slaves minimal to survive and work, and with maximizing profit you import more food. Or send those who were previously working those jobs to smuggle/work on our ships/pirate.

Or you use robots to do the digging because they are actually cheaper in terms of the one resource you have a very limited amount of ie food, which really does then allow you to maximise your profits.

The problem with this entire argument is that everyone can come up with spurious reasons to do stuff, which makes it all a bit pointless doesn't it?

How? Tell me how I'm preventing you to play corsair with hodor? By speaking out my mind in the forums and addressing the issue?

On the other hand there is supposed corsair laws versus slavery, there are in game news messege how corsairs supposedly abolished slavery, this abolishing of slavery rests on false premise of corsair nation hating slavery. This wrong idea binds corsair characters to hate slavery too.

As there is no big reasons for corairs to be solely intrested in human trafficking or make it's main market, same way there is no reasons to abolish it. There are totaly no reason for corasirs to hate slavery or see it as a crime in any shape or form unless it's done unto other corsair.

It's just another mean to gather up resources, and resources is what corsairs are after.

Imagine there would pop up a corsair law which would forbbid corsairs to pirate. Would it make any sense?

Yes in fact I treat this issue same way. "Corsairs have hodor, taking away someone else belongings is so lame, one must earn the respect and welfare through his own hard work". Doesn't this sound stupid within the context of corsair lore? So does slavery abolishment.

And it's not just laws of the council, it's being incorporated in corsair lore where it does not fit.
