There are so many colorful pirate factions. Is there really a need for the Pirate ID? I do not think so. We're all acting like we knew everything about the geopolitics of Disco the day we started. We didn't, and we're forgetting about new players in this discussion. Something sorely needed these days. It seems like so many of the ID change discussions these days have that theme in common, throwing up road blocks that impede new players' ability to ease into the game at their own pace. Don't like generic pirates? Don't be one. Or better, go RP factional pirates loudly where new players hang out and give them a genuine reason to forego the ID. RE: Pirate ID Discussion - Coin - 02-06-2014 i've been a factional pirate for a long time - but it's hard to compete with that immense zoi of the indy pirate. Nerf the zoi, limit the bases they can dock with, or add to factional pirate ids: May engage independent pirates within the following systems: (factional pirate zoi) RE: Pirate ID Discussion - MÃmir - 02-06-2014 Factional pirate ID's already have "Can attack any ship within ZOI" - you are totally free to crush all the indie pirates; and they are barred from Rogue/Molly installations already, maybe even along with being barred from other places too. I think it's been said quite a few times in this thread already. It's really hard discussing this when people aren't somewhat up to speed with this version of the mod, we're stuck in a discussion where people bring their 4.85 arguments to the table, but the game is different now and I don't think it is too much to ask people to at least inform themselves about the current situation before forming an opinion. RE: Pirate ID Discussion - Cashew - 02-06-2014 Personally I think there are too many unlawfuls already. Having the pirate ID in my eyes is an excuse just to attack other players. Also not having the pirate ID will restrict the zoi forcing players to join factions that haven't enough members already. Obviously this focus unlawfuls in specific places. Just my thoughts |
