This is particularly important for those new to Disco in general, so they can become familiar with in-game mechanics, forum etiquette, and gain a broad understanding of how the community operates. The core idea that I tried to keep in mind during my days as an Official Faction leader was "What can I do to offer the members an entertaining experience?" There is no faction without players, so it's important that logging on to the server is a positive experience. If that's too broad a question to answer, just focus on making their lives uncomplicated so they can focus on playing how they like (within the bounds of your faction's M.O., of course). Nope, too fking bad, I am worthless then, since the only thing I can possibly fly is a cap. Might as well go hang myself then. I agree with both points above 100% Im not good with snubs and my internet connection will never allow me to be any good with them, between both my skill (though I'm trying to get better) and my internet, I suck in them. Larger ships negate allot of the problems with slower internet connections. (04-16-2014, 07:15 AM)sindroms Wrote: Seriously, Disco needs to just get over this stigma about caps. Just because people don't know how to fly them does not mean everyone who does fly should be viewed as a lesser being or that they somehow contribute less to the community. This ^^ Nice Tutorial Spazzy RE: [Tutorial] So you want to make your own faction. - sindroms - 04-21-2014 (04-21-2014, 02:04 PM)Echo 7-7 Wrote: The most important piece of advice I would offer to an aspiring faction leader would be to join an established faction first (either official or unofficial), in order to gain an understanding of what's required to make it work first-hand, and also to understand what non-leader players have to go through. Good man. Adding this quote to the first post. RE: [Tutorial] So you want to make your own faction. - Colonel Mustang - 01-25-2015 Very useful, we are sort of an import of members but we are scrapping pretty much all of the old faction RE: [Tutorial] So you want to make your own faction. - Lythrilux - 03-16-2016 This should be move/linked in the unofficial factions sub-forum and pinned. There's been some faction threads recently that really could have benefitted with some of these criteria. RE: [Tutorial] So you want to make your own faction. - Skorak - 08-30-2017 Bump. |
