Everytime I freak out about another 5 years of development work I just look back on how quickly the first five years passed. That should really put me in a comfortable zone when SC enters the 13th year of development. I'm not quite a fan of those organisations. After all, the game isn't finished yet, and I'd like to play it on my own first. But can you make some sort of "group chats" without making a RP faction/organisation? I count 66 Disco players in my contacts list so far. That's enough, in case I feel like playing in groups. As for a "Disco organisation", this is what I've found. :-D Guess you'll recognize most (if not all) of them. RE: Star Citizen - Did you pledge & what do you expect? - Ryus - 02-12-2015 I pledged. Early. I have a Freelancer, I also have one of these. (02-09-2015, 05:28 PM)Narcotic Wrote: I also have one of these. ![]() I also don't have a rig capable of running it yet. I plan to build one and probably pick up an Occulus this coming year. I regret nothing. Uh, I know Aphil had a knockoff SCRA org (for piracy no less, the nerve) that he renamed into something else. It's floating around with about six people or so in it. Orgs at this point can safely be treated like social groups. It would be ease itself to create one for Discovery players for the purposes of incorporating names for ease off adding one another as friends in order to more effectively lobby up for the different game modes as they make themselves available. It's not a requirement to be in an org in order to buddy up, but it does make it easier to track one another down. There is also a chat feature that accompanies these orgs. Though in my experience they generally do not see a lot of use in favor of the principle chatrooms. But it shouldn't be hard at all for you guys to make one. Actually. Stand by. https://robertsspaceindustries.com/orgs/DISCOGC Took about two seconds. I'll set up some basic recruitment permissions. If anyone wants to be added to a list of Discovery players for the purposes of tracking one another down it should make it a bit easier. I'll tidy up the visuals a bit. As I'm not really a member of Disco anymore I don't believe it would be appropriate or convenient for me to be maintain active administration. As such I'll grant general rights to whomever you lot feel would be ideal for the task. Though I'll hold onto the actual org ownership for the time being. Which means almost nothing, but will provide a measure of indirect authority over assigning roles and the like. Until someone more stable appears to have taken over custodian duties. I am dustylens on the RSI forums. In case anyone needs to expedite reaching me. Edit: Echo 77 just jumped on. Once the 24 hour cooldown has elapsed I'll be granting him admin rights over the whole affair. He'll be able to assign roles and so on, relieving me of any tasks beyond maintaining the placeholder account that created the org (there's some weird stuff about running an org that makes the process annoying for primary accounts, but new accounts now have to have pledged to be viable, so it's all a hassle). RE: Star Citizen - Did you pledge & what do you expect? - Marburg - 02-14-2015 If it can haz Gaians in it, I'll beef up my 'puter to play it (innocent) RE: Star Citizen - Did you pledge & what do you expect? - Sir_Now - 02-14-2015 I just watched the original intro movie (extended version) from Freelancer. This = Star Citizen. Or better the other way around; SC = Freelancer 2.0. I think this movie is the final proof of it. It's amazing! RE: Star Citizen - Did you pledge & what do you expect? - Hidamari - 02-14-2015 So apparently you can fly any of the 300 series ships for a week. I opened up my hangar and i had 5 ships RE: Star Citizen - Did you pledge & what do you expect? - SMGSterlin - 02-14-2015 I think people need to stop with the idea of it being "Freelancer 2.0"... Sure, it's made by the same guy, but at the end of the day, it's not in the Freelancer universe, there really aren't any ships from Freelancer in it, it doesn't carry on the story where Freelancer left off, and I doubt there will be anything more than maybe a casual reference to Freelancer as an Easter Egg. It's just another MMO space ship game people, all though a fairly decent looking one. |
