To be fair, depending on what character I am flying running into someone that can't speak english at all does hurt my ability to have fun as I am looking for RP. This is an RP server, if a person can't RP due to language barriers they shouldn't be here. It sucks, but it is the truth. Still don't usually report but that is mainly due to laziness more than anything else. RE: What do you do to "No English" players? - The Savage - 02-06-2016 To be fair as well, there are two kinds of "no English" people: one kind completely ignores the fact it is English roleplaying server going their way nonetheless. The other kind is willing to roleplay, even with broken English. The second group is fine and we should encourage them do to so, because it is the best way to learn improve languages, encountering other people. RE: What do you do to "No English" players? - Sylvie557 - 02-06-2016 Yeah, as I said before, broken English is fine and is totally within the rules. It can be a bit immersion breaking at times but much less so then someone repeatedly saying "no english" then trying to fly away as I pirate them. Another problem that tends to occur with people that very limited with their language is misunderstanding or rules or encounters which can be frustrating but at least their is the chance to help them figure it out unlike players that no English at all. For me the, another reason I am much more willing to accept players with only limited English compared to none is that I see much more opportunity for improvement. It is not very likely that someone would completely learn a new language just to play Disco(not saying it hasn't happened) but I have seen several cases where players have actually improved their English overtime as they played. RE: What do you do to "No English" players? - The Savage - 02-06-2016 Oops, that's right. I meant improving language, not learning it. |
