Regarding the restriction on Liberty caps - MB52 - 11-09-2008 Seth, your RP ingame is great, I see no reason why they should prevent you from Captaining such a ship. Regarding the restriction on Liberty caps - Orin - 11-09-2008 I still think what we have here is an exception system for those who obviously don't abuse their ships. Ones with acceptable in game RP, and a level head to handle the "capwhoring" tendencies. I know you RP well, Seth, so I can't see you being so restricted. Now if a new player who has not the foggiest about RP, and just wants to shoot everything. Yes, KOS. And I've read your writing. You don't suck.:P Quote:Why'd they drop the tag?"omg, thurz an LR-!!11!! bring out da cruiserz!!!11!" Regarding the restriction on Liberty caps - Seth Karlo - 11-09-2008 Well, although you feel that way Orin, Mb52, I know that 2 members of the Liberty High command think I am a capwhore. I have a screenshot of one of the members of the High Command telling me that "most people on the Disco forums think you are a capwhore and a prick" I truly do appreciate you saying those things, thank you so much the both of you, what I want to know is whether the LN High Command will let me. Seth EDIT: Quote:And I've read your writing. You don't suck. tongue.gifAwww, really? Thanks! Regarding the restriction on Liberty caps - jshkornmiller - 11-09-2008 i agree with jihadjoe. many times i come to liberty space on Gneisenau and i want to RP but as soon as someone see me, i get spammed with cruiser and above. Now i have seen alot of good RP from players that are not members of the official LN, such as gafwmn. But the indy players need to learn that you don't send out cruiser and battleships for one pirate vessel. No offense to them, for i once had a lns ship, though i didn't play on it much. Regarding the restriction on Liberty caps - jpo - 11-09-2008 Ill see you all in a liberty battrlecruiser tonite. actually, let me elaborate. 1. you banned mercs in NY. this effected my roleplay severely. You actually enforced the ban hard enough to take [MAF]'s side in a fight because i was a merc hunting them. 2. you have a ban on rheinland goods that nobody knows how to enforce. I read the actual laws last night (thank you for the link it was impossible to find). It has not been enforced properly a single time in my presence. 3. The ban on trade lane parts has been impropperly enforced over and over. 4. Youve accused me of smuggling without finding contraband and placed one of my characters on the watch list without a single scan or screen shot. So yes, yove limited my roleplay already. I wasnt going to ever make a fully lawful character other than my bomber escorts, but I definately take this personally and resent having RP forced upon people. I will make this character and pvp anyone who attacks me in self defense, and i will enforce the liberty laws as they are posted on the forum. And if you keep the KOS on indies i will reserve the right to KOS non indies. Good day. Regarding the restriction on Liberty caps - MB52 - 11-09-2008 I honestly don't know where I stand on all this either. At one point I had fought to get onto the LN's "trusted" capship list, but I noticed a few months ago I had been removed from it. I always assumed it was a typo/mistake but I'm not on the current list either.. so who knows... Regarding the restriction on Liberty caps - Seth Karlo - 11-09-2008 mb52, you are on the list... Regarding the restriction on Liberty caps - MrCynical - 11-09-2008 I think a proper, and fair, registration system is probably the best solution to overuse (read: PVP whoring) of capital ships. The Corsair one actually works quite well - if you're known to have good RP skills, and an awareness of balanced fighting, then you'll get approval. If you misuse your ship (using it to overpower fights, taking it to OORP places) then the approval gets revoked. EDIT: Should have mentioned that the key to this is that anyone who can roleplay and fairplay WILL get approved. There's no attempt to use faction power as a restriction on other people's genuine RP. Must be why the HF, 101st, SOB, and other Pirates in that alliance don't hang in Liberty. It's better for indies. Regarding the restriction on Liberty caps - jdftheman - 11-09-2008 Well, personaly i think it's a good thing, but I see one big issue that i don't think i have seen here yet, namely the fact that there are alot of people who play on the RP-server, but don't look at the forum. I personaly was planning a liberty cruiser, and i started writing a story for it (something in the line of being a guard unit of zone 21). The main reason was that new york is one of the few active systems to play in. On my runs between LD-14 and newark station, i usually get noone on system chat (maybe because my RP sucks) exept for new york, and that's quite frustrating. But I totally agree with the reason. The other day i was pirating a bit around the tradelane to the california jumpgate, when all of a sudden i had an cruiser and a gunboat on my hands. Since i knew my hyena wouldn't stand a chance, so i tried to run, they cded me, and when i tried to RP myself out of it, they just blew me up. |
