Legion of Armageddon - Euros-LoA - 11-18-2008

I am greatful for everyone's highly constructive criticism. I will continue to relay the information I receive here to the rest of my clanmates as well as remain the voice of LoA here on the Discovery forums. The information you guys give us will improve our RP that much more. Thank you all for your feedback and insight. Keep it coming as I personally have high hopes yet high expections also. I hope to have the freedom I wish for and the RP I long to have that lets me play as I've always wanted to. If things dont work out in this fashion, we will be contemplating an outcast group of the Corsairs. I have much more knowledge of the Corsairs since I have been researching them throughout my time playing freelancer. But once more the feedback is highly beneficial in pointing us in the right direction and getting us started with something we can be happy with in the long run. And thanks also for the well wishings and the congratulations on our being thought of as one thing yet was proven otherwise by me and my organization. Cheers.

If you do decide to become Corsairs, get in touch with me, I am one of the Elders of the Corsair nation here on disco.

This is Remora's response up to post #42.

"Here's the post in reply to everyone up to now.. up to #42.
"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
The Outcast point changes a few things.
That would probably put us pretty hostile to the Outcasts, but not all Border Worlds are outcast.

As such, I think the following changes to our faction diplomacy would be necessary:
Corsairs: Unfriendly (Their artifact trade is disrupted, which is their primary source of income.)
Outcasts: Hostile (We are devoted to destroying their spirits and every holy artifact that their spirits have given them.)

Here's a revised shiplist under the principle that some things might be a little hard to repair, and removing alien technology.

LFs:
*Arwing (Removed) (Alien Technology I believe)
*Decurion (Member List Restricted - Reduced Numbers)
*Griffin (Member List Restricted - Reduced Numbers)
*Hawk
*Legionniare
*Scimitar (Removed) (The Buncshuh don't encounter Nomads I believe)
*Starblazer
*Starflier
*Startracker

HFs:
*Anubis
*Centurion (Member List Restricted - Reduced Numbers)
*Crow (Member List Restricted - Reduced Numbers)
*Falcon
*Talon (Removed) (Alien Technology I believe)

VHFs:
*Eagle
*Nephthys
*Raven's Talon (Member List Restricted - Reduced Numbers)
*Titan (Member List Restricted - Reduced Numbers)
*Viper (Member List Restricted - Reduced Numbers)
*Viper II (Member List Restricted - Reduced Numbers)

Bombers:
*Civilian Bomber (Member List Restricted - Reduced Numbers)
*Praetorian (Member List Restricted - Reduced Numbers)
*Falcata (Removed) (Outcast Only Ship)

Gunboats:
*Corsair Gunboat (Removed) (No Justification due to the changed status with the Corsairs)
*Dragon Gunboat (Removed) (Our RP didn't really justify this anyway)

Cruiser:
*Zoner Destroyer (Very few, restricted to a percentage of the Members.) Justification: Some Zoner military commanders might sell decommissioned destroyers to the Legion.
*Corsair Cruiser (Removed) (No Justification due to the changed status with the Corsairs)

Battleship:
*An Osiris Class Battleship (Only one.)

As for Zone of Interest, Darth_Chernobyl put it how we see it. We don't have one. We have a mission, the mission takes us into everyone's territory. Just as Mercenaries are outlawed from Liberty Space, I anticipate heavily armed Legion of Armageddon ships facing the same thing. Of course it always requires enforcement, meaning there will probably be clashes between the Legion and house militaries over the rights to be in the space, but alternatively I also see their laws being obeyed to the limits of not restricting the mission of the Legion to interdict the alien. It doesn't matter anyway, since the Legion would be using the routes of the less lawful (Permission to use the trade lanes and trade gates isn't really there, so there wouldn't be much usage of those...)

I greatly appreciate all the assistance you all have given us so far, and look forward to keep working with everyone to try to get our RP good and solid, and acceptable to the community.

"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" "

We are working feverishly to rectify our RP and get it acceptable to everyone who matters here on Discovery. Your patience with us is greatly appreciated. Stay tuned for more developments with our RP.

If you are going to move the Corsairs to unfreindly, you really need to remove the Corsair ships from the ship list.

Legion of Armageddon - Euros-LoA - 11-19-2008

My compadre Remora has edited the RP background the Battleship.

""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
Expanded RP Storyline, Pending Approval of Order as an accepted possible occurance...

Euros was not the best pilot, but he far from the worst. He wasn't the oldest, but certainly not a rookie. He had a vision during the Nomad war. One of eventual destruction, if humanity wasn't united under a single banner. He gave an impassioned speech to all who would listen, and gained some followers. However, his actions started to cause sparks amongst the fringe elements of the order, and strained the relationship they had with governmental bodies. Eventually the leaders of the order had to expel him to prevent the dissent from spreading. To transport them all away quickly and efficiently, some of the exiles were put on an Osirus-class battlecruiser scheduled for the breakers due to extensive combat damage. The exiles left, and spent two years in Corsair space. They slowly gathered an even larger following. Eventually the prophet came to the realization that it wasn't the uniting of mankind that was required, but the united effort of the best of mankind. He geared his followers to the creation of a "New" order. A legion devoted to preparing itself for the final battle between the enemies in the harsh galaxy and mankind. This new order, this "Legion of Armageddon", worked hard to grow its ranks, and spent time and effort trying to get the deralect battlecruiser into a Spaceworthy state. Eventually they succeded, and set off for the rest of known space, to spread their message of doom and destruction to all things alien. Some call them pirates or terrorists, but the Legionnaires know what they really are, the last hope for mankind! Such people cannot worry about things like "law and order", for they must be ready to stand as the last warriors of humanity, to save everyone in the final days.

"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

There, we now have a non-war reason as to how we recieved a Battlecruiser. We need to make a good name for it.

I am relaying what my clanmates say for a reason. For now, until we get our RP role down and we all start showing up, I prefer that everyone speaks to me directly, since I happen to be the leader of LoA, as well as creator. So that is why I repost these things for them. As for a new shiplist, here is the new shiplist with its justification as written by Remora.

Criticize the RP role, not the rules that govern the RP, we need to get our RP role in check before the rules of the server should be discussed. No disrespect intended nor directed towards anyone of course. And thank you for the help people we all are greatful for it.

Legion of Armageddon - guitarguy - 11-19-2008

Your ship list has greatly improved, keep up the good work.

Legion of Armageddon - Euros-LoA - 11-20-2008

Okay people, I've updated the FIRST page of this thread to show the new and improved RP information. Take a look at it and let us know what you guys think. Anything that needs to be modified, amended, or removed. We need all the constructive criticism we can get in order to get our role down and have it acceptable and correct for the purposes of this server. Thank you all for being patient with us and giving us a hand in certain area's of our RP.

Legion of Armageddon - Heartless - 11-20-2008

Hmm, I guess I find it a bit odd that you are using Order tags and ID's and yet the Order itself is only Neutral...

Zoners are allied to the Order so I'm a bit confused about this. Maybe pirate ID's suit you better? I don't know.

Legion of Armageddon - Euros-LoA - 11-20-2008

Its still in the works, our RP information. It hasnt been finalized yet. But thank you for pointing that out Swiss. My RP guy will take a look at it and will adjust the information accordingly.

Legion of Armageddon - Euros-LoA - 11-21-2008

Good ole double posting!

Remora had this to say in response to SwissScorch:

*******************************************

In response to SwissScorch's post:

""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
SwissScorch, I gave long and hard thought about the order IFF and ID both when we picked it and recently as a review in response to your question/suggestion.

It was origionally considered to pick a Pirate ID, but it really doesn't suit. The legion are not pirates. We do not take a cargo, and the only money they would be demanded would be for replacement of ammunition and effort spent on chasing them down and destroying their cargo. Those aren't the actions of pirates. The Pirate tag also has baggage associated with it that doesn't quite fit with how interactions with traders go. For example, my Character likes to have his supplies of oxygen, water, food, and h-fuel fairly well supplied. If I were to approach a trader with my charatcer holding a Pirate ID, the trader would assume that I was out of RP if I attempted to purchase 20 H-fuel from them. Contrast that to playing an Order ID, the ID fits a little better.
The same confronted trader, when encountering an Order ID, wouldn't feel it too far out of RP if I demand the Alien Artifacts in his hold and blow them up, but the same trader requested that from a pirate who leaves the rest of his cargo alone, which might consist of millions of credits worth of diamonds or cardimine, might scratch his head and wonder why the pirate blew up the Alien Artifacts and then still demanded a fee from him, and yet didn't touch the rest of the cargo. The Order IFF was picked because it seemed the most appropiate at the time. This might cause some issues if the Order considers us hostile from the exile and we engage them in a place where order patrols fly, but we still think it is a much better representation amongst the rest of the area, and nothing fits quite like it.

Yes, our stance with the order is Neutral, and yes it is a little odd considering that we are holding the Order ID, but really our stance with pirates would be neutral too. It is a whole complex pot, and it's set to neutral mostly because I have no clue as to yet how our RP interactions between us and the other player order would go. Our current RP puts us as exiles. Is there tension? Is it a reluctant Exile? is it a "Good Riddance!"? Is it something that we will need to work out with the Be| leadership, exactly how they view our exile. It might restrict us from Omicron Minor and Omicron 100, it might restrict us from all of the Omicrons as a whole, or it might just be "You can't fly with us, but feel free to fly near us."
I'm deliberatly leaving it open so we can provide fun and interesting RP interactions between the two groups. Given what we do and how we do it, I still feel that order IFF and Order ID are the most appropiate, despite the fact that we might have strained relations with the order. Then again, we might not. That's for the Be| to work out with Euros on how the exile was conducted. I personally am in favor of a whole RP scene, but I advise against it unless we can get some Pre-approval for the process, since the whole "No ZOI" seems to tweak quite a few noses here, and it's a big part of our RP.

I do hope that the Community as a whole eventually finds our RP acceptable, and we will continue working with everyone here until we have something good hammered out that actually has a shot of being approved by the Admins.

Thank you everyone!
