The crux of the matter is the lack of Nomad players.
Not ZoI. Order ID'd players can go anywhere with any ship up to Gunboats, and Order| ID'd players can go anywhere with anything. But as of late there's no massive fleets, there's no random Nomad base appearing. Quite honestly there's been no Nomads.
We're like Bretonia/Liberty. We're suffering activity wise because we just don't have our major enemy on regularly. It has nothing to do with ZoI Bindo, again.
We need more Nomads to do our job, but we can't. Honestly, Core doesn't even log super regularly. We can't just shoot random people, that BS is for real terrorists

Edge Worlds can't sustain consistent activity beyond PvP right now, and I'd even argue that isn't consistent either. I've argued that Nomad indies need capitals in order to really help flesh our a Nomad indie base but it doesn't seem like the staff were fond of that idea.
Hopefully once ambient activity can be sourced things might change. But I do think that it is far too and needlessly problematic that 99% of alien activity is done by official factions.

I have come to the conclusion that some activities are impossible in the server due to the huge lack of faction activity, when there isnt any police, there is a lot of pirates, when there isnt a lot of pirates, there is a lot of police. There is a huge imbalance, and there isnt any compensation. Im not going to touch my rogue barely anymore due to this bullshit.
It would make pirating/pirate hunting worth it if you could recieve a small ammount of credits for destroying an enemy faction player. But right now nothing at all is worth the time, and i personally think there must be some limits to what should be a RP pvp attack and what should not. Make it actual RP, not "Hello im going to kill you because my ID says so". Its just sad.
I know it may be a stupid idea and would probably increase the ammount of players wanting to pvp outside of connecticut, but something needs to be done to revive the factions. I dont know how, but im sure we all agree something can be done.

It's not a stupid idea.
THe solution is rather simple.
Make winning by numbers permissible again.
Faction/group/co-op problem solved.
