Questions on the latest "Administrator Notice" - jimmy Patterson - 01-06-2009 ' Wrote:Hmm .. I have to say I'm not ALL that thrilled aboout this thing the admins pulled. On a personal level , I think my way of RP has been - ruined / invaded / neglected / redused to your avarage capwhore. I don't like saying things just to look good infront of the admin team and people who don't agree with me , and I say that I've visited NY on numorous acassions with my Battleship with no fighter support ( real people ) , but in RP I have a small scouting fighter wing of Anubises that I RP at the same time I RP my admiral , firsti office and my right hand man. i agree completly ill miss the encounters i have with the au'rora and tenabras on my LABC this notice needs to be rethought mabye talk to the official faction leaders and get there vote along with the admins as i know you admins are busy with so much behind the scens things you tend to miss the little nichs that are serverside mabye we can compremise Questions on the latest "Administrator Notice" - 122nd Order Guard - 01-06-2009 Heh I for some reason don't think stewie is gonna care much about that. He will probably find a way to get the Tenabras into NY or some system near it. (Kepler being best because one of his ships are aiming to hide in that area) Questions on the latest "Administrator Notice" - Tenacity - 01-06-2009 Quote:Allowed in Liberty but not in NY makes little sense, really... And from Igiss' original post, it seemed more like the problem was with using the Alaska JG, not with them actually being there. The problem IS with using the alaska gate, as well as with going through zone 21 - those are not (in-rp) easy areas to get through, especially with a huge target like a capship. Fighters might be able to speed by or go relatively unnoticed due to smaller sensor profile, but a capship would never get through without being spotted. The issue, however, is that theres no way to tell if someone has gone into ny via the jump gate, or if they've gone in via texas/cali/colo/etc. So, the only real way to keep caps from using that gate was to ban them from new york entirely. Quote:And that new jump hole leads to the LSF Guard system, which leads to Oita, which leads to either the LPI or KNF Guard systems. tongue.gif oh, damn =( Questions on the latest "Administrator Notice" - X-Lancer - 01-06-2009 i just dont want admin control over player/faction's RP and the rules set by the factions....... Questions on the latest "Administrator Notice" - Magoo! - 01-06-2009 Five pages and a paused episode of Stargate Atlantis later, all I've gotta say is that I agree with the Notice... Just eh... Throwing that out there since I can't exactly post my support there. Also (okay, so I lied), Quote:1) Does this void rule 4.3 1. Nope. The rule, theoretically, intends for the meaning to be for those outside of the NPC faction governing the player faction. (i.e. Bs| cannot govern those within the Order, however if a Corsair waltzed into the home system, they can feel free to kick them out or tax them) 2. Eh... Good... Question? If these've been answered adequetly already, then I'm sorry for my redundancy. Adios. Questions on the latest "Administrator Notice" - n00bl3t - 01-06-2009 ' Wrote:Everyone has the right to buy and fly a capship until they prove to be a disruptive player, at which point they get sanctioned. Same thoughts here. With the notice I do not agree with the ban on Order capital ships in NY as I have seen Order capital ships that bring some awesome RP to NY, usually by pretending to be cloaked. Apart from that, no problems really. Questions on the latest "Administrator Notice" - frozen - 01-06-2009 just to point out (as xoria used my faction as an example to justify one of the points he was making in the thread pointed out by mwerte in the original post), the HF never did restrict any one from purchasing any hacker ships, becuase the HF NEVER were 'true hackers'. however, i would like to voice a concern. for example, do the HF AND/OR LH have rights to ask people to at least register and state the intentions of the spyglasses they purchase? only just yesterday, i was on the HF flagship, when i had someone (wont name him) stroll into vespucci, and ask me for the location of the spyglass battleship (and incase proof is needed, i have screenshots of the whole conversation as well, since i take a screenshot for everything i say or do, lest i may need to prove in the near future i havent broken any rule or such). obviously i didnt just give it to him, since i was hoping to see he had some sort of RP to go alongside the ship, but with a name like he had, i might as well given up hope the second he asked me the location, but i tried to RP it nonetheless. turns out, he was an outcast that wanted to purchase the spyglass to fight against the corsairs in the omicrons, and the reason he dished out to justify why he wanted the ship was obvious- it looks good. now, is it a crime to ask someone to at least come up with a decent attempt at Rping WHY, as an OUTCAST would he want a spyglass (which in RP is supposed to be a rare recon ship reserved for the Hacker bosses [according to the infocard]) over say.. an outcast manufactured battleship, or even better, in both armour and firepower, the dreadnought? all i asked him to do was make a simple post in the LH DIPLOMATIC THREAD (note, i didnt ask him to address it to the HF, but the LH) regarding the purchase, the useage, the crew, and how maintenance would be done (if the spyglass is rare in RP, repairing damaged parts would be expensive, since there is alot of specialist scanner equipment etc that could get damaged while fighting on the front lines). Take this into consideration- i NEVER stopped said person from purchasing the ship, even as an outcast, since after all the recent flotilla of rules that have been spat out in rapid succession, even i wasnt sure if i would end up breaking the rules or not. However, wouldnt the LH/HF show some sort of resistance to an outcast (or god forbid, liberty Rogue) for just randomly strolling into the hacker's home system and purchasing a top-of-the-range battleship that is normally reserved for the lane hacker bosses? if not resistance, some sort of demands/explanations/compensation perhaps? Questions on the latest "Administrator Notice" - Daniel_Feenix - 01-06-2009 If it was necessary, you could have stopped that Outcast from purchasing a Hacker Spyglass without fearing a sanction as the only group that system-owning factions aren't allowed to prevent from purchasing ships/equipment in their guard system are those with the same IFF and ID of the NPC faction that the system belongs to. Questions on the latest "Administrator Notice" - frozen - 01-06-2009 Well its too late now, while he promised in that PM based conversation that he'd RP the request etc etc on the forums, when i logged off to head off for dinner and logged back on a couple hours later, he was already in alpha with outcast ID + tag and a spyglass, and there was no 'request' or anything similar posted by anyone whatsoever. oh well. if i were sure that i wasnt ending up breaking a rule, i might have stopped him from purchasing said ship. might as well add another lolwutter to the oc cap ship roster. :/ Questions on the latest "Administrator Notice" - Eternal - 01-06-2009 Actually Frozen , if he is with ID / IFF of an Outcast he is our problem now , mainly the 101st's. Yet there is little we can do now , besides give him some guidelines and hope he folows. |
