RE: Discovery Team Notice: Discontiuing support for Private Servers - colinjay11 - 05-06-2017 Cant be both version's are the same 89.1 but one is red can now connect to CHAOS but not GHOSTCAP RE: Discovery Team Notice: Discontiuing support for Private Servers - Alex. - 05-06-2017 (05-06-2017, 08:14 AM)colinjay11 Wrote: Cant be both version's are the same 89.1 but one is red IIRC that's just because there's a hidden part of the version number that doesn't show up. RE: Discovery Team Notice: Discontiuing support for Private Servers - colinjay11 - 05-08-2017 Great news Ghostcap now connectable Can any bright spark tell me how i can put more than 1 IP address in the forced arguments slot, does it have to have a space or forward slash ? or can only 1 IP address go into that space at a time. Thanks. sorry to seem stupid i'm sure i'm not alone
RE: Discovery Team Notice: Discontiuing support for Private Servers - Alex. - 05-08-2017 Separate with a space, like: -s192.169.1.70:2302 -s213.141.135.119:2380 RE: Discovery Team Notice: Discontiuing support for Private Servers - HeyImRuu - 05-09-2017 I think it needs to be clarified (and op updated @sindroms ) that the FORCED ARGUMENTS box is not editable and any servers people want to connect to should be put into the OPTIONAL ARGUMENTS box RE: Discovery Team Notice: Discontiuing support for Private Servers - colinjay11 - 05-09-2017 Yes that is correct sorry that is what i meant can only one set of IP be put into that space at a time or do you have to put some dash or whatever between them? RE: Discovery Team Notice: Discontiuing support for Private Servers - Dr Hooligan - 07-02-2017 Has it not become abundantly clear that for every nuance you add to Discovery, like this one here, you lose in the overall playerbase? It's one thing to change mechanics of the game, which has caused plenty of player loss. But now you seem to intent on killing off server populations as a whole. Not everybody that tries Discovery mod will like it as it stands. And without other servers easily accessible, new players will not know that there is more than one way to play this game. *In case it is not obvious, majority of gamers are not actually that tech savy, they often look to others for help*. Which will turn them away in general. Thus they will not play the mod at all and move to other mods or games entirely. This is a very old game. It has a dwindling playerbase as it is. So why make it worse if you can easily avoid such? Discovery GC has always and will always have the majority of players by default. That's the "mechanics" of the average player when new to this mod. Occasionally a small percentage of your players will move to other servers. Like 3% at best. You already have a monopoly and now seem to want a complete corporatocracy.. -_- I personally stopped playing this game over a year ago(my steam library has over 200 titles), but host a dedi server just for those who like the game and mod, but not the rules or play style on GC. We have a small server pop. One that is not hurting your oh-so-glorious monopoly in any way, shape or form. Players that would not even play your mod if it weren't for my little servers existence. I have never, nor will ever try to "compete" with your server. Thus, this whole thing is ridiculous. You are only hurting your own server by doing this. Though I do believe it is your RIGHT to make this decision. I consider this just one more nail in the coffin of a dying game. #PissPoorDecision @OverwhelmingGreed.com |
