I strongly recommend you to stop blaming faction on his first day and review it after...let's say, 1-2 weeks of RP encounters. Talking about "memetic-faction-in-the-past" isn't a good decision and looks very prejudiced.
Gave 'em a chance and rate them after.

Now that is all stupid!!! Really all of it! Bering system has no interest! It has nothing and it's location don't serve any zoner interest. if the jump gate was repair .. yes .. but has it is there is no interest on it! otherwise never would have been abandoned! So all ... and mean all this is stupid!
1 - it as stupid to put there a zoner carrier base ... that carrier should be in omega 49 defending Gran Canaria from possible Gallia expansion, as also from wild attacks
2 - there are enough zoner bases around liberty ... no need more, specially one that don't bring any thing good to the zoners
3 - if you people are bored and want pew pew, so instead of parking your ships aroud there, why don't you go do what your factions role play say that you do ?
4 - zoner alliance is a terrible name choise, because it is just group of zoner ships that are bored and want pew pew, and decided to make a zoner military group, that do NOT represent the zoner community.
To use that name you should do:
1 - provide escort to zoner traders
2 - provide security to zoner bases, mainly the only zoner planet Gran Canaria.
if you do that i would agree and even put a ship or two for the cause, but start a war with that name, that could drag ALL zoners, because you want pew pew ... no fk way!!

Can the Zoners attack the Separatists and the Onioners? Would I waste my money if I bought a Nep for it? Always wanted to try one out.

Did you forget? I mean I don't mind it at all, just that name, Zoner military and such stuff is way too similar to old Zoner Alliance memery.
