Any multiple ship can basically "instakill" the player... Well atleast the capital ships. Bomber drones with modified guns can be good threat against capital ships. Especially in large numbers.
We can give bomber drones torpedo launchers with higher damage and also we can make them harder to flak so drones can have good firepower but low survivability.
Note that carriers will able to launch drones infinitely but there will be launch time probably 60 second or 120 second, not sure.

I like this idea , similar things were proposed many times in past , but nobody was capable/willing to implement it before .

You misunderstood me.

A single carrier will not be capable of instakilling a person fleeing from them. We have balanced caps in that way.
Two or three equally incapable caps that spawn 3 drones each (9 drones) can do that and then some.

I see the torpedoes as force projection devices.


Use fighters to intercept the torpedoes with cds, make them pretty immune to flaks by pumping up the mass value, or whatever. Encourages lolcaps to bring actual fighter cover. Battleships to carrier class should desirably suck without a fighter around.

Server stability > experience.

There probably won't be anti-snub drones. The drones will have a modified torpedo and a modified SNAC, by modified I mean a much longer cooldown on the SNAC (~20 seconds) with more damage and a better tracking nova torpedo that's harder to flak. We'll also add incapacitator torpedoes and maybe marauder missiles. Not all of these go on 1 drone, you'll have to choose between 2, we're still thinking of the exact numbers. It's gonna be very hard for a snub to get instakilled.

It's nice you pointed out server rules problems but I doubt it'll be an issue. People know that once you're in a PvP any kind of blue message means you're dead. From a cap not giving a proper blue because people kept shooting it after it was dead to snubs ramming a gate or sun to deny a kill message, it still means you're pvp dead. If you're being targeted by a drone then the player deploying it engaged you and you're in a PvP. If friendly fire happens it's treated like any other friendly fire - you're, again, PvP dead. Drones change nothing. Of course a message saying you're being targeted is a welcome QoL, but it's not a necessity.

How about more drones (1 per drone bay?), but only 1 can be active at the time?
Allowing you to choose proper drone type for the situation, or deploy reinforcements after 1st drone was destroyed?

You'll be able to choose a loadout of the drone depending on your need.

For instance "/deploy Light Bomber Type-1" deploys an anti-shield bomber with incaps and ASURAS. Type-2 would be SNAC and marauder, Type-3 would be Novas and a stronger SNAC. This isn't how it's exactly gonna be, but it gives you an overview.
