RE: [Poll] Rerun event: Clash of the Titans - PhoenixClaw - 12-16-2018 Two cents from someone who didn't partake in the event... Yes, I didn't take part in it, so I shouldn't be allowed to vote or even give my two cents to it... But it seems to me that some people must've lost common sense... Honestly... why is it even necessary to do a Poll for that?? I won't write about the fairness of the event or how balanced it was, not even about how some people played in it, cause I didn't take part and I don't really know how the event actually looked like. But honestly.. there was a Hacker, who NEMPed the hell out of some people, while the event was running... that's breaking event rules, server rules, and so on.. and you still Vote no on that? I don't get it.. why? It's common sense for me that an event (which inRP changes stuff), were a Hacker did sh*t and killed a bunch of people, using unallowed weaponry, obtained by hacking on the server, should get redone... Not cause of fairness, balance or such stuff.. just cause it's breaking multiple server and event rules and definitely changed the outcome of that event. RE: [Poll] Rerun event: Clash of the Titans - Banned player t202085 - 12-16-2018 Nemp was used, do redo and perma ban whoever fired the nemp. RE: [Poll] Rerun event: Clash of the Titans - Querious - 12-16-2018 Honestly, trying to redo this has the same risk of stupid tactics. I know people are likely going to throw a fit, but I really don't see anyone benefiting from a redo. This was meant to be a brief story event located off the main systems, and with the current outcome, people can get back to the regular warzones without having an extended stay in Provence. I mean, who wants to keep valuable caps in a system they know is going to be devoid of activity until an event happens? I'm sure some people can, but poorer players like myself can't exactly do that. So some fool fires a NEMP and now it's a toss up between what Could have happened and what did Happen? Just because rules were broken doesn't mean it *has* to be a remake. Otherwise that means anyone can roll in, throw a NEMP and force a remake at any point during the event. Event organizers saw the NEMP go off and decided to keep going with the event. It was their call, they could've stopped then and there and restarted it all. They didn't, which can only mean they accepted the continuation with the NEMP included. It wasn't that hard of a call to make had they wanted to reset everything. RE: [Poll] Rerun event: Clash of the Titans - DarkTails - 12-16-2018 The main event organizer wasn't even participating, so I doubt any event organizer who had power over it were present. RE: [Poll] Rerun event: Clash of the Titans - Greylock - 12-16-2018 What's the worst that can happen if the event gets redone? People just waste a few hours of their lives on a weekend? Nothing new there. RE: [Poll] Rerun event: Clash of the Titans - ronillon - 12-17-2018 (12-16-2018, 11:17 PM)Antonio Wrote: Just because rules were broken doesn't mean it *has* to be a remake. Ruining an event like this should result in ban. How many people would consider it worth it, just to "force a remake"? Or are we at the mercy of hackers at this point? Edit: I admit i was not there, could not make it today. RE: [Poll] Rerun event: Clash of the Titans - Thunderer - 12-17-2018 I can't bother to read all the posts in this thread, but I've heard that someone claimed that whoever was on the Arles played dirty. As it might already be obvious to some, I was on the Arles. I didn't play dirty (intentionally), but that NEMP explosion reduced my FPS rate to 1. At least, whenever I looked at the remaining cloud. So I aimed to get as far as possible from the cloud so I'd have more FPS, not because I wanted to hide. There were Council ships near me constantly anyways, so hiding wouldn't work no matter if I wanted it to or not, though I don't know why there were so few Council ships attacking me at first. I guess it wasn't only me having the FPS lag. At one point I "abused" the EK bug that is caused by bumping. I didn't do it intentionally. By routine, while facing another battleship from point blank, I constantly reverse while having EK on so I would turn faster and thus defend my blindspot. If I am rammed, I can stop the EK by holding the reverse button. However, my computer's reaction was slowed down considerably if the NEMP cloud happened to be on my screen, so getting out of EK took a longer time. I think that the event should be repeated, because this indeed didn't seem fair to me. Even if it can be argued that it was fair, it was definitely not enjoyable, at least for the time the NEMP cloud was on my screen. Can't do anything with 1 FPS. By the way, has anyone noticed my allusions with RPing a Contre-Amiral who was called Philippe Braudel, in the system which contains the nebula called Mer Mediteranée? However, I don't see how it'd be 'fair' to redo it. The NL event wasn't redone, even after the Gallic side put up with so much spontaneous unbalanced crap. |
