The problem, I think, was not that Devs were/are involved in the Fights, but that they appeared to be driving the Forum/in-Game RP as a Player.

I agree that that's mostly what people are taking issue with, but I wanted to touch base and see what people thought anyway. Gonna quit hijacking the thread now.

Anyone registering needs to specify if they are flying a fighter or a bomber. "Snub" could be either.

The destroyer is out in the open so as to avoid the tracking munitions glitch in which nova torpedoes and other such ordinance cannot be targeted within an asteroid field, as we felt it would be unfair to the Mollies and IMG not to have a chance to intercept nova torpedoes during the escort portion of the event.

More fun to escort transports into battle ? See the numbers of bombers and boats ? they'll be down in 3 minuts, and we'll then have a regular battle.
I don't see the fun in that. Maybe some do like to hunt ducks, but ... in such event, it doesn't work at all, and doesn't make sense.
Edit : we don't even know what type of transport it would be.Anything above freighter would have a bad time quickely Smile

Let's just get rid of that part : it's a gameplay mistake in my opinion.

This directly contradicts the conversation I had with Paul on Friday.

Edit: As Paul pointed out, the destruction part was my suggestion as it isn't feasible for the Mollies to hold Cardiff once the Norfolk returns to Cambridge, and it makes little sense to leave it in Bretonia's hands if they have a chance to destroy it.

This is correct

We might thought about leaving it to a third party, as plan A. But if the Norfolk fleet is actually back, the destruction might be a good plan B.

So in that case, wouldn't giving the BAF the chance to keep it alive be the best thing then, rather than a Molly 'auto-victory' by having it be destroyed regardless of the resistance offered by the players?

The transports for this event are custom Gulls with 3,000,000 hit points unarmored and 1,500,000 hitpoints for their engine section. They have more HP than a Legate.
