As much as you think that is a solution, it's not. It just pushes people into bigger ships...

"Oh no... my gunboat got taken out by a bomber, it must therefore be rubbish. I think I'll get a bigger ship."

Which swiftly moves on to...

"Oh no, my cruiser got blown up by a pair of bombers, damnit, I think I'd better get a bigger ship!"

You see the pattern.

When people realise their battleship gets taken out by three bombers, they group together, and take it out on light fighters.

A swarm of 4 bombers can take on anything in the game. It is even fun to do so.

Stop whining and get snac'n.

That is all.

And joe, the moving to a bigger ship constantly provides powertraders for us to pirate for months before they realise that they just wasted half a year of their lives. They also provide cruisers for the Varyag to feed on.

what I don't Understand is that people can gain free access to a guard system that an OFFICIAL FACTION has purchased with their own money. It seems kind of unfair that Factions don't have a say in what goes on in the guard system if an indi is properly aligned. I mean, did the indi contribute to it monetarily? as I understand it, currently it costs 500 million credits to buy a system for your faction. Plus it needs to be approved. Can't a faction have some say on somethings that go on in their guard system? If there aren't any perks, whats the point of creating an RP faction much less joining one?

I know this seems like I'm bashing all independents in general, and I apologize. but there is that distinct group that ruins it for the rest and everyone suffers.

Actually, it costs a Billion and has to be approved.

The main issue is that there are ships in the Faction's system not sold elsewhere.
This is because they are guard systems with the Guard Faction reputation usually required to dock on the stations and get the IDs etc.

Maybe if Faction systems were made seperate from the Guard systems? No issues over people being in them etc to get ships not sold elsewhere?

My two cents.

Anyway, how many small reminders do you issue to capital ship pilots Sindroms?

I find it not in the least bit surprising that I run into strong anti-independent attitudes in any of your threads.

What I do find surprising is people covering up their attitudes with a bogus disclaimer, which acts in the same way as saying "no offense" after an offensive statement.

Do you have any idea how hard it is to reign in indys who like to fly big ships and go pew pew to everything? Please, if you're so knowledgeable about this, tell me, how would you talk to these people?

Quote:Admins, hear this, is it really normal for all players to just go "meh" and log off, unwilling to play, their fun ruined by big boats only because factions have no control over their actions.

I've had my fun ruined by fighters/bombers. Does that mean we should fix and restrict them?

It's not the players' job to "reign in indies". If they break the rules, report them. If you provide evidence that they are clearly harming server gameplay, then they may be dealt with by the admins.

Talk to them in a friendly, RP manner and show them your view of the faction's RP. It's a much better approach than OOC complaining and berating.

Capital ships are a part of the game, don't stress too much over them. There will always be pvp-minded players, and there's a lot of them in fighters and bombers too you know. In my opinion, thinly-veiled-RP pvp whoring is worse than the actions of players who don't know how to roleplay.

Your point is answered by Robert.

I like to think that we players can handle some issues on our own without going to the admins about it. In fact, if everyone tried this, I'm sure that there would be a lot fewer admin headaches.

Of course, that's just what I'd like to think. Evidence so far seems to show that this is, in fact, not the case.
