I use a program called 3d studio max to make these models.
3ds max cannot import freelancer ship models.
To import freelancer models into 3ds max, you need to first import them into milkshape 3d, another modelling program, and convert them to a different file type which 3ds max can understand.
It's complicated, i know =P
EDIT:
I changed the windows a bit, but I still want to keep them looking like windows, even if it is an alien ship. Cant fly if you cant see where you're going, we're not jellyfish =P
I also recolored the strip around the center of the ship, and the engine ports, to keep the same color scheme, as well as to differentiate this ship's techology from the blue colors used by the phantoms/c'tan.

I think I'll try and get the color of the metal changed from black to a bronze-ish color, the only ship i know of in the mod right now that uses bronze is the zoner gunboat, so it should make this thing look a little more unique.

dont really have a name yet. Like I said earlier in the thread, Unselie has been doing some RP about other alien races, and wants to work the two together, so perhaps I'll go along with a race he's thought up.
