Corsair Order alliance - Elsdragon - 08-18-2009

The hessians and dragons and shizl, Are Corsair Enemies, even if they are not OC allied. Corsairs have order, hogo, And FA. Maybe gaians depending on ones interpretation. Not exactly balanced, But its more of an OORP than RP thing, so Corsairs dont get stepped on. Just what I observed in say, 5 minutes. Skimmed, didnt read

' Wrote:Really Eppy? More with the unfounded Corsair bashing? Isnt it getting old for you yet? I love the in your mind the cause of every single problem for the game is the Corsairs. First all the Corsairs did was cancel their alliances with the CR, mind you, exactly what would be expected in rp. I suggest you go and look to the other members of the council of Dons for blame on that, but I guess it's just like your views on Omicron Eta, not an outcast to be seen anywhere, huh?

Okay, Michael, what the hey? What kind of Corsair bashing is that? Where did I bash the Corsairs? I didn't bash the Corsairs, and I'll thank you to stop labeling my irate observations as attacks. All I did was point out how many alliances the Outcasts have had taken from them and how the last attempt at a nonaggression pact (not a freaking alliance, a simple agreement to stop shooting each other because it was a colossal waste of resources for both sides) got stepped on. I called the CR up when the pact went down in flames and said 'Oi, what happened?' and you know what they said? "The Corsairs and the IMG complained." The IMG would, I'm sure, but the Corsairs? How would they even know? It's not like we did this in open summit; when are the Corsairs ever even in the Taus? Never, I'd hope, because that's a colossal violation of ZOI. I am sick and tired of every post I make being labeled Corsair bashing, and I will thank you all to stop.

Hammer time.

kill the alliance, and then i will see how you wil roleplay order controling artifact trades, or order pilot catchingartifact smuggler, you destroy him? well you have war with people that have profit from artifact trading. and guess who these people are? yes.you are correct.

on the other side, what you make? you let him go? well, then you are not order that is trying to have all nomad tech under control....

Corsair Order alliance - Canaris - 08-18-2009

Uhm... my personal opinion, a question, and slightly off topic.

Is Order trying to control artifact trade?

Why? I see why Order should buy artifacts, but why stop the shipping of artifacts to other places? It aint helping the nomads...

Uhm how would the Corsairs know? We have had a long standing treaty with the CR that put Corsairs on CR bases, I guess they wouldnt notice any change right? So you can go take it elsewhere, you try and make peace between two long time enemies, which is a hard thing, and then have the nerve to blame it not working on the Corsairs? That seems like yes you are blaming it on the Corsairs. Eppy, you have to find another boogie man around here, because the Corsairs are not to blame for everything. It just seems every time you rant a bit, its ranting about how the corsairs are screwing you. You want me to go find threads to prove my point? It will be very easy to do. I can point you to the ones on the dev forum as well. So stop. The Corsairs are not out to get you, so stop acting as if they are.

Corsair Order alliance - teschy - 08-18-2009

There are major flaws in the logic of this so called 'alliance'.

First of all, in RP, the Order have far more advanced technology than any Corsair can dream of. Just because the Titan was considerably superior to the Anubis in the vanilla game, it doesn't mean the Corsairs had more advanced tech. It's just the developers' way of making the game harder for the player. There's a single difficulty level, but the game gets gradually harder as you go through Bretonia.. Kusari.. Rheinland and so on, with Liberty being the easiest of them and the Omicrons being the hardest. So this is where the discovery devs failed, which is messing the game mechanics with roleplay.

Secondly, much like their other allies (the Hogosha), the Corsairs are genuine artifact smugglers, clearly something the Order wouldn't tolerate. The Order are a very complex organization, whereas the Corsairs have a form of organization, they are still basically ruthless pirates, that would care less about the fate of manking. So, another mismatch of the two.

And thirdly, it's the devs' fault that they created Omicron Delta as a clashing point between these two factions. Why would the Corsairs build a base in Delta and not in Kappa first, I have no idea, but it lacks any logic. And as far as I'm concerned, Omicron Minor was linked to a sector of Omicron Beta, the one with the nomad lair.

This stuff needs fixing, for the sake of RP. Of course, there are many people against taking action, probably because they're too attached to their factions or something, even though their stories are pretty much ridiculous due to this.

Corsair Order alliance - Canaris - 08-18-2009

Well, if Eppy is an Outcast, I think the Corsairs ARE out to get him.

Regardless... if you ask me CR/OC peace would never have worked anyway. And frankly... SOMEONE gotta stand up to that 0-risk double profit cardamine trafficing thats creating all the lolcaps. Seems to me the only reason Corsairs were allied to CR because they were fighting Outcasts. When they stop doing it, alliance rp is void. And 'how would they know'. Ur really funny man.

Teshy, this is not about the Titan being better than the Anubis, the basis is that the Order is supposed to be a small covert organization, they didnt (and in my opinion still shouldn't) have huge ship building complexes, they also work in secrecy, they need someone to make their ships and help them get supplies that wouldn't have any benefit in ratting them out to Liberty. The Corsairs have the ship building network, and wouldn't be believed by anyone is they tried to sell out the Order anyway. Aside from that, the Corsairs have been fighting against the Nomads pretty much longer than anyone in Sirius, guess the order might be interested in the knowledge they had. Lets remember, untill 4.84 the only bases the Order had were Toledo, a barren planet, and the Isis, a single Osiris.
