Pirate etiquette - Corsair - 08-28-2009 I still think that pirating in my Stiletto is fun. If you meet a halfway credible trader, you can worm 50k out of him. That's huge friggin' cash for a Stiletto. Now, for you Falcata pirates, keep it reasonable. Your ship was 7m credits. That's supposed to be your life's earnings. I always ask for 200k-500k depending on the transport in my bomber. In my Gunship.. OH WAIT, I DON'T HAVE ONE. Pirate etiquette - Cyberanson - 08-29-2009 This week I robbed some smuggler with my pirate and instead of demanding a certain amount of cash (which is rediculous in my eyes anyways) I asked for 'some cash' to see how much the smuggler was willing to pay for his life. I received 500.000, which is quite a good cash for this short time. Maybe next time I won't be in a good mood and demand 'some cash' again. Pirate etiquette - Capt. Henry Morgan - 08-30-2009 I personally use a /setmsg so I can quickly get a demand out, then I RP from there. I can be a lot more colorful than a simple "Halt!" that way. The one I'm using now is "Ahoy there, #t! Heave to and strike your colors! Cooperate quietly, and I'll go easy on you." I then fill that in with whatever demand I come up with on the spot. Sometimes I'll ask for cargo, other times I'll ask for credits. In neither case is it going to cost the trader a lot of profit. I don't recall ever asking more than a million credits or half their cargo. Basically, don't be a '2milordai' (or his ugly cousin, the '5milordai' pirate), keep your RP good, and don't treat the trader any worse than you have to. If he says he can't afford the demand, come up with an alternate demand. On one occassion, I settled for bots/bats from a Spatial we had stopped. On another occasion, I demanded a single young, female refugee from a guy carrying them in a VHF for some reason. At the core of it, just remember the following. Rule 0.1 Don't be a jerk. Pirate etiquette - Gamazson - 08-30-2009 I enjoy pirating with a Frieghter. In most cases I am absolutley no threat to the transport but I still get cargo anyway, which as long as I am not using my Missile based Bactain means that I usually come out on top. With a little RP and and smallish hold, you can accoplish great wonders. Pirate etiquette - Camtheman Of Freelancer4Ever - 08-30-2009 Vetana, that was me... lol... I dont know why pirates can pirate in gunboats... Its a bit unrealistic, really. They ought to be not allowed to pirate just like cruisers and battleships. You'd really spend about 10x the upkeep cost for the same tax payout you could get in a bomber? lol... Pirate etiquette - strongtoni - 08-30-2009 ' Wrote:I enjoy pirating with a Frieghter.
