Lafiel Tarrant - Seth Karlo - 12-26-2009

He chuckled lightly.

"I have... an offer for you. You are the Countess in charge of talking to the Gallic people are you not? I wish to... talk to them."

She looked politely curious, sitting there in her white dress. A very nice white dress aswell.

"I wish to find out how they survived... how they managed to get here after loosing so much. I remember the day that their sleeper ship was destroyed, and I'm amazed at how they built another..."

Lafiel Tarrant - Lafiel - 12-26-2009

She looked at him curiously yet not unpolitely.

She didn't know why but she felt compelled to speak frankly like she was talking to a family member.

"Mister Kithe, I might be able to arrange a meeting I have some old contacts but I have been reassigned at present though more of a aide to Lord Canning till things clear up in my next place to serve. I'm sure though my contacts would love to speak with you. Would a vice admiral do for your likings?"

He continued to eat, smiling at the young girl with so much responsibility.

"That would be most excellent, thank you."

He smiled, and moved to other topics of conversation.

"So, tell me about yourself."

Lafiel Tarrant - Lafiel - 12-26-2009

Lafiel sipped from her champagne glass intensely aware of his gaze and wondered what would interest him about herself she stared into his eyes her gaze unfaltering she was used to staring into her fathers own eyes her father's had their kind and warm moments but she had seen him angry and the man before her was nothing compared to him.

"Well were to begin what would you like to know most Mr. Kithe albeit there isn't that much to my life."

She thought to herself before she decided on were to begin

"Well I can remember almost all of my life I can remember all the good moments except for when I was twelve I don't really remember being twelve. I was born on Cambridge I have a twin si..." her words momentally faltered she looked across from the room as she tried to get the words out she couldn't remember she tried thinking of something else.

"I have a brother you see but I haven't heard from him in a very long time it has been just me and father for a very long time now mum was murdered by the kusari when I was little I can barely remember her."

"I love books and history my father has a library it is truely tremendous it is eight stories high I used to sneak into my fathers study he would tell me off but I don't think he would mean it his heart never seemed in it he would lecture me and then start reading to me. I had a very easy life growing up living in Araluen Manor of Araluen Estate"

"I have more recently in life had a very interesting tour of sirius I thought my father had been killed but it turned out he handed and he gave orders to my butler who turned out to be a MI5 agent to take care of me he basically picked me up carried me kidnapping me onto a shuttle to the medical ship the Trexus and then I have been and seen a lot of places. I studied under 2 lecturers one from oxford and one from cambridge universty while on the ship. The foreign office managed to get someone to over rule my fathers orders and I came back to new london were I have trained to work in the foreign office and Im very new to it but my first mission was to Gallia."

She focused on him unfazed that she was telling him this it probably wasn't important to him, " I found a picture you know of me and my family except it wasn't like the others of the same copy this was was blurred at an edge you could see hair like someone else was meant to be in the photo too like it had been tampered with. I brought it to the agent for him to fix it so i could see who the other person was He basically snatched it off me yelled at me not to look into the past or I'll get hurt before sedating. Sigh everyones so very over protective of me and everyone knows best for me I mean from my father to this agent to even a merry ensign in the armed forces I don't really have a life do I everyone is planning it for me."

She shrugged slightly

"Is there anything else that interests you about me? Otherwise tell me about you you are very intriguing."

Lafiel Tarrant - Seth Karlo - 12-26-2009

"Sometimes overprotectiveness can lead to resentment... something that must be watched closely." Salazar spoke softly.

"Myself? You know my story... but I shall add a little for your... curiosity."

He paused, finishing his glass of champagne and finishing his food, which had arrived a good 15 minutes before, he had always been a quick eater.

"You know how I came to Bretonia, and why I am here, but I have not always been alone... Several hundred years ago, I stole an Outcast Dreadnought, called the Redknight. The captain of that vessel was a truly evil man, perhaps even more so than me, for while I treat most with at least some respect, he enjoyed torturing and raping young girls, younger than you...

When I arrived upon the bridge of the Redknight, I found a young girl, about 15, chained to the command chair of the ship. She was naked... brutally beaten and raped beyond mere torture, and I set her free and gave her a knife and allowed her to exact her revenge upon her captors.

Her name was Teya, and she stayed with me for some time before... dying."

He neglected to tell Lafiel how she had died.

"Soon after, I met a young girl who stood up to me, and she told me that her name too was Teya... that girl became my right hand, and I loved her truly. She gave birth to a girl 19 years ago, and I named her Siona.

About 2 or 3 years ago, another woman arrived... Serena. She gave me light... showed me how to live without taking the blood from others, taking their life force... Serena killed Teya, and took her place."

He smiled at Lafiel, bent his face to kiss her hand, and smiled at her before standing.

"Thank you for your company my dear, but I am required elsewhere. The bill is taken care of, feel free to order and have whatever you wish. I hope to speak to you again soon, but before I leave you..."

He dug into his pocket and withdrew a small communicator.

"This will reach me, no matter what. If there is a reason I cannot answer and you are in trouble, someone shall respond. If you are ever in trouble or need, just call."

And then, with a swish of his long coat, he was gone from the restaurant.

Lafiel Tarrant - Lafiel - 12-28-2009

Lafiel continued to delicately eat her food listening attentively.

She felt bewildered that he could witness so many fell things yet felt sadness that he should lose a loved one.

she didn't quite understand how but he seemed to have gotten through his dinner rather fast and it was apparently time for him to leave.

As he went to leave he gave her a communicator... It was a very nice gesture she hid it on her person she thought to herself she would most definitely keep it safe.

She sat there thinking to herself amazed Mr Kithe has an entire family.

She finished her food and her champagne but when she got up to leave she felt disorientated.

She moved to the door not entirely sure of herself stumbling she fell gracefully to the floor landing softly almost without a sound like a dove coming to perch her vision began to blur at the edges and she suddenly grew concerned... dismissing it as effects of champagne as she saw someone running towards her as she felt an arm around her as her cheek slowly drifted to the ground she suddenly found her decent come to a halt an abrupt halt the feel gave way to a voice she recognised oh to well, "My my... My dear daughter I'm here I got you." Lafiel instantly felt the urge to twist in her fathers grasp till she could see him properly she put her arms around him as he lifted her off the ground holding her close to him as Lafiel's vision blurred she fell unconcious her fathers face the last thing she saw.

(The Marquis had appeared out of nowhere from one of the many tables in the establishment his face had been warm and affectionate. He needed not even glare at the other patrons of the establishment they knew not to pay notice or to stare. He Left the establishment carrying her carefully towards his apartment.)

Lafiel Tarrant - Lafiel - 01-03-2010

Lafiel floated in an out of conciousness she spoke groggily, "Pa..pa........fa...ther.."
She heard the familiar punching of keys and turning of locks before the whoosh of her fathers apartment door (in retrospect it was more of the Tarrant city house as the Marquis owned the entire building)
She felt a gentle hand brush back her hair out of her face as he spoke reasuringly, "It's alright Lafiel your safe I've got you." She drifted hazily as her father had assisted her to dress in her pajamas she suddenly found herself laying in her bed in the family apartment drifting hazily her father brought a glass of water and placed it by the side table she called out her mind swimming as she almost slipped unconcious again, "father... I... want to talk to you...there is a picture someones tampered with it unsuccessfully...I'm trying to.." Her father cut her off he gently stroked her forehead as he softly spoke, "Shhh....rest my daughter we can talk in the morning.. Goodnight."

The Marquis Nelt down to kiss her on the forehead and left her room pulling her door closed after him.

Lafiel Tarrant - Lafiel - 01-04-2010

It was misty there was a great fog that had covered the area the forest reached as far as the eye could see yes this was familiar Lafiel thought as she gazed up at the tall tree's I used to play here with my brother and someone else the fog curled around her feet she wore a white dress with matching shoes.

Who was it I knew well. As if in answer the mist grew thicker as her little brother came running out of the mist he was a lot taller than her he tapped her on the shoulder as he called out to her, "Tag your, it! Run run little sister is it! Lafiel whirled to see Augustus Tarrant disappear into the fog vanished without a trace his joyous cry began renewed, Lafie is it Lafie is it run away. It died but Lafiel had heard it long enough to chase after it she began to run her dress whirling through the mist to which she camouflaged in the cold damp breeze blew her long golden hair behind her. She suddenly tripped on a branch she hadnt seen she let out a cry of surprise as she grazed her hands but she quickly got back up to continue running. She heard laughter and a feminine voice whisper to her over the cold air, She wont be able to find us here brother let us stay put a while. There was laughter as the voice faded.

Lafiel couldnt help but giggle they couldnt escape her. A long time passed and Lafiel had stopped to wonder were they had gone as shock sunk in as she thought to herself what time it must be. She called out, Come out you two its probably dinner time by now mother and father will be most angry if we are late. There was no response she grew puzzled surely they would have heard her. Come on its late lets go home! she yelled at the top of her voice as she squinted in the darkness. She suddenly felt worried as time passed and they didnt answer it must be very late by now she heard the hoot of an owl which made her jump turning around to her dismay she couldnt even see the owl. Lafiel started to feel very scared had they gone home without me she thought, what if Im lost in the forest and cant find my way home did they just run off and leave me here she screamed at the top of her lungs, Stop! Ignoring me! Why wont you both answer me? She suddenly felt the warmth of tears as she began to cry, Augustus please! Answer me! Answer me! Answer me! Please answer me dont leave me here in the forest. She began to wander walking slowly trying to retrace her steps as she sobbed to herself begging please answer me, please dont leave me here; please tell me were you are big brother she began to cry in earnest the steady flow of tears down her cheeks became waterfalls as she broke into a run screaming and begging the continued cry of please ever present on her little lips.
She saw something in the fog a figure as she suddenly found herself running towards it she suddenly saw from a distance the figure looked exactly like herself peering into the foggy mist shock registered on the figures expression before suddenly being replaced by joy she opened her arms as if to encircle Lafiel in a hug the figure called out to her with warm relief, Lafiel we were so worried are you alright we thought we had lost you.. As she got closer she suddenly saw it wasnt her at all but someone very similar the figure from her childhood someone she loved dearly her twin sister Sophia. Lafiel ran to her wrapping her arms around her tightly almost sending them both sprawling to the ground as she burst into tears a fresh, I thought I had lost you. I thought you both had left me here alone. Sophia hugged Lafiel tightly to her as if she might vanish into the mist and fog once more she spoke fiercely with passion, Never ever. Never ever think that. Never ever ever ever! We would never leave you alone here I love you so much sis I would never ever do something like that to you Never ever so long as I live. I promise you. Lafiel content and began to relax she was with her sister and she wasnt going anywhere, Sophia where is Augustus? Sophia replied pointing behind her, He went to the house to get father and the others to help search for you. We both started to get really worried I voted to stay here while he ran back to the manor. Lafiel nodded her face lighting up as she realised were home was she let go of Sophia and began running in that direction she yelled over her shoulder, Come on Sophia race you home. Lafiel had suddenly become excited and thrilled that they were so close to home as she vanished in the missed she heard Sophia call slow down but she didnt she ran faster. Im not slowing down youre a faster runner than me she thought to herself giggling to herself as she ran down the almost clear dirt track. She suddenly heard Sophia yell through the mist and fog, Lafiel be careful dont run you will fall in the river. Sophia repeated herself again the second time Lafiel realised what she had said as suddenly the ground gave way underneath her she screamed as she fell a high pitching scream of terror as the icy water rushed up to greet her biting violently pulling her under she struggled to bring her head above water again as she did the water pulled her under again she managed to get her head above water as she let out a scream which was abruptly cut short by a mouthful of icy river water which burned stinging her sinuses as she choked on water burning her lungs she felt herself growing weaker she wasnt a terribly strong swimmer she felt the current dragging her along she felt dizzy and weak she felt her arms and legs beginning to wane and stop fighting. Suddenly she felt arms around her as she was pulled to the surface as a body pressed against hers she suddenly gasped for air trying to breathe as her head broke surface. Its ok Ive got you. Ive got you. She heard Sophias voice in her ear. She was slowly brought to the other bank of the river as they were pushed across the current. She suddenly felt herself being pushed up the bank her vision she felt like she was going to be sick and dizzy she turned as she called out, Sophia I.. She screamed out a last word as she past out, Sis!!! The darkness took her as her body shivered she suddenly felt herself being shaken and echoes she heard echoes, Lafiel Lafiel.Lafiel Wake up wake up..Breathecome on Lafiel daughter come on wake up!. Lafiels eyes flittered barely seeing her father standing over her she rolled uncaring crawling to the waters edge she felt her hand slip and herself fall forwards but strong arms pulled her back just as she screamed her heart out reality sinking into her hazy mind, Sis!!!!!!! Sophia. Nooo Noo. The world went dark once more.

Lafiel Tarrant - Lafiel - 01-05-2010

Lafiel woke up with a sudden jolt into conciousness she heard the echo of her voice ring out Sophia's name around the room. Her eyes focused and she realised she was staring into her fathers face which was a ghost of its strong features his eyes looked haunted with deep sadness and as if he had been crying. She felt a gentle comforting hand on her forehead as her father sat next to her on her bed. She reached up with her left hand to touch the cheek of her fathers sorrow stricken she spoke softly, "I have a sister? Were is Sophia father?" Her fathers face clouded as a mask resumed encompassing his features his face was filled with concern and care as he replied, "It's alright my daughter you were just having a bad dream." Lafiel's face contorted with annoyance as she spoke, "I have a..." Lafiel's expression went blank as she realised she had forgotten what she was thinking even though she felt like remembering it was of extreme importance that she spoke to her father about it she let her arm drop down as she lay there puzzled at her loss of memory. "It's alright my dear you were just having a nightmare your safe go back to sleep. Shhh..."
Lafiel felt herself giving in but she felt cold inside now and full of worry and concern she would have to track down Oliver he seemed to have some clues. She raised herself up till she could give him a kiss and a hug good night it's something that had always happened in their family it always brought great comfort and seemed to make sleep come easier. She felt her eyes close as she lay back and drifted off to sleep.

The Marquis knelt his head and kissed her on the forehead once he was satisfied she was asleep he face gave way to sorrow as he remembered so much it was apparent to him that Lafiel's mind was getting much more stronger as the memory blocks that had been put in were obviously failing on the sub concious level it would not be long he imagined till she remembered everything which left him with a hard decision to make tell Lafiel everything early and bring the blocks to a close prematurely as she was older now much older and she would be more able to cope with the knowledge or he could try to hold off till the blocks gave out completely though he imagined it would be a lot harder to cope with and stressful than to be slowly eased in.
He slowly stood up from sitting on the bed as not to disturb his daughter and wondered off in the direction of his study were to is extreme shock the photograph was missing from his desk he immediately turned to the console in his desk and punched in an emergency line making contact with Oliver.

Lafiel Tarrant - Lafiel - 01-15-2010

Lafiel slowly slinked from her room into the living room were she found her father standing in the middle of the room entering data on his PDA. She slinked across the space between the doorway to her room to were her father stood she wrapped her arms around him in a warm hug and softly spoke, "Good Morning father, how are you this lovely rainy day?"

Lafiel observed her father almost jump out of his skin the hand that held his PDA almost chucked it across the room she almost let go of him. He hastily pressed a button on his PDA and it turned off he placed it in his pocket and turned facing his daughter a smile on his face though Lafiel noticed a crinkle of worry painted clearly on his forehead she had always been able to see through her dad when someone wasn't right even if no one else could. He hugged her back warmly picking her up and whirling her about as he did before placing her back on her feet. He gestured to one of the lounges by the window with a wonderful view of the city as he spoke calmly, "I am very well my dear it is a wonderful day the usual rain of New London." They sat down just as one of the servants brought in two cups of tea and a tea pot. There was a silence that grew as they relaxed drinking tea. The Marquis was first to break the silence, "Well Lafie I think it is high time celebrate your eighteenth birthday. I know at the time there were things that were on but I don't care how late your party is you my dear daughter are going to get a party you only become an adult once in a life time. We will have the party at Araleun Manor your welcome to invite whom ever you may wish no exspense or bars held what ever you can dream of is yours."

Lafiel launched herself in a hug almost spilling tea but not caring as she sudden surprise and excitement burst through her, "Aw thank you so very much father. Your the best dad in the whole of sirius. Who can we bring to the party um... I know Lord Canning... The Admirals um Hobart, Nelson officers like bridge goodmen, Gilead oh who cares invite all of the armed forces um maybe some of the police force."

Lafiel let go of her father and picked up her tea again sitting back into the lounge as she thought over whom else she could invite. The Marquis contributed, "I will get into contact with what ever members of the nobility I can get a hold of, they always tend to like enjoying themselves with fine food."

Lafiel let out a sudden cry, "Oh I almost forgot what about Captain Sophia Mertel and Captain Williams maybe make it they are welcome to bring guests too hmm I don't know what ever suits them I guess."

The Marquis face froze at the mention of the name Sophia Mertel his face taken aback with great shock it took a moment for him to compose himself.

Lafiel suddenly frowned to herself, "I doubt anyone would come... I mean its me after all its not like they would want to come along."

The Marguis smiled and spoke warmly, " I'm sure everyone will come along my daughter. You are a kind considerate person I doubt anyone would want to miss celebrating your birthday."

Half an hour passed and they had both discussed arrangements Lafiel took off with excitement to get her PDA and begin sending out invites
