Finally updated my pc - Turkish - 09-23-2009 Regarding the issue of the cooling unit on the 4850 looqas. The dual-slot cooler offered by XFX (and others) is great for stock, keeps the temps down far better than the OEM single slot that shipped with a lot of cards. Arguably though there are better after market solutions. So even after release the 4850 kicks like a pro. Glad Rayne found a setup he liked.:) Finally updated my pc - rayne - 09-23-2009 Yep it works well, just need to ditch the old IDE Drive now, I have a SATA for storage. Gonna be getting a 500GB SATA II at some point, how can I transfer both drives on to the new one without a reinstall of windows etc Finally updated my pc - looqas - 09-23-2009 ' Wrote:Yep it works well, just need to ditch the old IDE Drive now, I have a SATA for storage. making an image of the HD using some clone software. I'm sure people have a lot of suggestions, since I know of only one, Norton Ghost, and it costs money. @ turkish. Yeah. Those are the ones I've been looking out for in case I shell a bit more than the price for 4770. But the price is unfortunately a bit more pricey here in Finland. I haven't been able to find the 4850 with dual slot cooler/or after market cooler that I'd like to pay the extra for. That's why 4770 looks such a sweet deal. Finally updated my pc - looqas - 09-28-2009 Rayne. I've meant to ask, but have forgotten. Have you been happy with the 4770? Finally updated my pc - rayne - 09-28-2009 Aye cant complain, its nice playing all my games on max, I need something newer to really test it though. Finally updated my pc - ed_philips38 - 09-28-2009 Depending on the manufacturer of the HDD, some offer free utilities that allow you to clone an old drive to a new one. After that you can simply transfer all your stored data on the other hdd to the new one which should solve that problem, if in doubt, check the manufacturer's website for information. Finally updated my pc - rayne - 09-29-2009 Im getting Windows 7 in a few weeks anyway so no biggy |
