A) Kress?

B) No, they were not considered holy spirits. They were considered spirits, but certainly not holy. To reinforce that idea, and the idea that their "worship" of Nomads it utterly ridiculous, the Outcasts are mostly Catholic. They wouldn't turn to worshipping "spirits" just because they were blue, shiny, and blew up their ships once in a while.

The entire idea of this comes from the graveyard, where the Nomads were sometimes spotted. The Outcasts had no idea what these dangerous, blue shiny things were, so they referred to them as "spirits." They had no idea what the Nomads were, and being superstitious, they called them "spirits."

They didn't worship them, they simply regarded them with the same superstition they would regard poltergeists or ghosts with. If we actually tried to think things through before declaring the Outcast's relation with the Nomads, I imagine we might end up with them being quite allied with the Order against these "unholy" beings.

But, instead, someone interpreted "spirits" as "We worship these beings even though we're Catholic" instead of "This is a vague term for something we don't fully understand." And, we get the Outcasts, as silly as they are today.

Outcasts were awesome in vanilla.
I never play them in Discovery.

(And, as a bit of a note, Corsairs were also better in Vanilla.)

If the Order/Corsair alliance is dissolved, they will be pirated by The Brotherhood till such time as they give us a good reason not to.

Also notice, there are only 3 diplomacy options in the game, hostile, neutral, allied, so all this friendly/unfriendly doesn't really make a difference. For me, anyone who is not allied with the Corsairs is open to be pirated.

There are a couple of Order IDed transports (that I know of), but most of the very infrequent trader traffic we get is of the Zoner, Junker or Freelancer variety. The Order would not take kindly to having it's imports reduced, regardless of trader ID, and would likely take measures to protect its economic interests.

It'd would give my ex-Hunter Osiris commander a good excuse to lay down the law.

And this is what I foresee happening, so even if the Order/Corsairs start out as neutral, they will end as hostile unless they actually have something to offer the Corsairs.

It seems somone trying to find an excuse to blow up Order guys in his Corsair char.

Order / Corsair alliance - Exsiled_one - 11-30-2009

Doesn't seem like that to me. Anyone in gamma thats not green to me is piratable. Sorry but tough luck. Our cannons don't shoot flowers. Corsairs take whats theirs.

You don't need to hide the insults.

Nah, really I'm not. I just see a huge hole in all this alliance thing and lack of logical thinking. And after someone made Osiris restricted, the whole history of order/corsair alliance... went *puff*

The alliance was originally made because there was nothing for the Order to do in the game except hang around Minor. So, allying with Corsairs gave the players something to do.

Now, we don't need that and realise that it really makes little sense.

Not really, the Order started as small group, without any infrastructure for operations, or ship building. If they wanted to build those Osirises they needed a partner to build them, the allies they had at the time, the dragons and bund, did not have the resources or facilities to build the Order equipment for them, add that to the Corsairs being the only real power in proximity to the Minor, you start to see why the Order might have been interested in a alliance with the Corsairs. To say it didnt make sense is bull, it did make sense, we may have outgrown it, but at the time, it was an important step in developing the Order in rp into the faction it is today.
