Pirates - unreasonable price - Mickk - 06-04-2010 ' Wrote:My Rules of Piracy - Given that its basically all I do now. Kudos for placing a minimum level on your pirating. Running is what a Trader is going to try and do, it's your job to make them stop, if the Trader doesn't try to run then they aren't being serious about it. If you think about it, it is almost NOT RP to not try to run. If you try to stop me, the reaction you are going to get is going to be, as you put it, "What do you want?" while I'm hammering the cruise key. This is in character for a Trader or it is for MY Trader. If a Trader is stopped by a Pirate, they are going to try and get away. They will be grumpy about being knocked out of cruise/trade lane, so they are going to be abrupt with their language. Time = Credits to a Trader, especially if they have 'perishables' aboard. I'm not saying your rules aren't good.... for you, but they won't be rules that a lot of Traders are going to want to follow. I *may* kill my engines, but there is a pretty good chance I will have been under thrusters, so even if I stop, I will have some 'drift' happening. Don't get uptight about the fact that I'm drifting, just be happy that I'm not actively maneuvering to place you under all of my guns at the same time. Pirates - unreasonable price - Irra - 06-04-2010 ' Wrote:"pirates killed my mama, stole my cash, and spat on me" This is not EVE, most of us are here to have some fun.. Is there any fun when you start with your Rhino and suddenly there is bomber asking more money than your ship and all cargo is worth.. there is something wrong with it. All these "RPing" pirates that are insane and demand insane/unreasonable prices especially from newbies are just plain insane.. there is NO RP in it. Pirates - unreasonable price - SeaFalcon - 06-04-2010 Remembers me when i was flying my little freelancer passed the lanes. hacker shows up. I start annoying him. He misses 6 transport because of me distracting him. Then a starflea lvl 45 or so shows up. This is what happened (from the log file)(Names have been removed except for mine): Pirate: my interest is traders John.Woodpecker: right right. What about my intrest in money? Pirate: farm cut engines John.Woodpecker: owow failing hacker *laughs* John.Woodpecker: well a navy patrol eh John.Woodpecker:seems they can't see you somehow? Pirate: stop Pirate: now John.Woodpecker: *Laughs* that's a great fail man. Are you drunk? Pirate: you are anoying An escaping trader: hehehehe John.Woodpecker: I am? Pirate: halt (meant to a passing lvl 45 starflea) John.Woodpecker: uh? John.Woodpecker: weren't you after transports? Pirate: now Death: (Starflea fella) was put out of action by Pirate (Gun). John.Woodpecker: well time to take you out for that. John.Woodpecker: be prepared to die hacker! John.Woodpecker: hacker can fly better than that! Death: Pirate was put out of action by John.Woodpecker (Gun). Pirate: where did you leare fight like that? Good times. For me though but for mister starflea I don't think so. Oh and the other funny thing was that 2 navy fighter flew by without even saying a word to the hacker when he was trying to stop some traders. Navies just cruised off. so after the hacker killed that poor flea. I took justice in my own hand. Pirates - unreasonable price - Varyag - 06-04-2010 I have a bloodhound pirate that I setup for an event like 2 years ago. It is dern fun to buzz around in. Believe it or not, it makes money too. Most traders just blast me though. I need to finish rep fixing it and get back out there. Evidently there are rhinos in Penn to kill again. Pirates - unreasonable price - mang109 - 06-05-2010 I didnt realise my Rules had been noticed :D My point about "Trying to run", is personal. I like to try and type more that "2milrdai" Problem , is that while im trying to type, if the trader keeps cruisng, it forces me into a "2milrdai" type RP, because I have to be fast, before they thrust to the next lane of base. So its not an RP thing, its a "you are annoying me on a personal level" type of thing. Pirates - unreasonable price - Mickk - 06-05-2010 ' Wrote:I didnt realise my Rules had been noticed :D Sure they were noticed. When I look at a thread, if it's short enough I will read every post. However if the thread is a billion pages long, I'll probably browse the thread over all, read posts that catch my eye and then post if my thoughts haven't already been covered. Every Pirate wants their 'victim' to be docile and do exactly what they are told. Sometimes it happens, but I'm betting you can count on your fingers how many times it has worked out that way, but I could be wrong. If you were a Trader, what would you do? Think before you answer, even if you don't post. Pirates - unreasonable price - Evan_ - 06-05-2010 ' Wrote:Every Pirate wants their 'victim' to be docile and do exactly what they are told.My pirate usually want's traders to run. That means more money. I as a player however prefer if they stop. That means I can type without risking to lose the catch. Otherwise I'm more tempted to drop a preset message and roleplay with SNAC. I want to be rebalanced to have an extra hand. Someone remodel me please, I don't even need a hitbox. Pirates - unreasonable price - ryeguy146 - 06-05-2010 Quote:I want to be rebalanced to have an extra hand. Someone remodel me please, I don't even need a hitbox. No kidding. I've always wished that I could easily type and fly and shoot CDs. Quote:Every Pirate wants their 'victim' to be docile and do exactly what they are told. It makes RPing easier. If a trader won't stop, they're usually just trying to run away. And by usually, I mean always. Want to RP and then try to run? RP it and I'll let it happen. But see, this is a tango that takes two. If one player isn't willing to comply, then it just isn't gonna happen. Both pirates and traders need to up their game in this, as usual. But, as usual, people are still going to powertrade, and people are still going to make outrageous demands, and people will Q_Q about it on the forums. It's the circle of pew pew. Pirates - unreasonable price - Tomtomrawr - 06-05-2010 I generally pirate the miners at their mining spots. They have massive ships and make thirty million + a run, so I don't feel so bad about asking for six or more million credits. But taxing Rhinos and underlevels, and even those with the really small freighters, is just wrong. Pirates - unreasonable price - mang109 - 06-05-2010 Quote:If you were a Trader, what would you do? Think before you answer, even if you don't post. Me? I usually try to sneak towards a Trade Lane if I can. And I may try to cruise with CMs blasting. BUT I wont be surprised if this gets me killed. Whereas many newer traders seem shocked that this results in their death or massive demands. Hence why I advise them to stay still if they want small demands:) IF ive got massivley valuable cargo ( ore ) I just sit still and comply as much as I can. |
