But in short, no. Faction tags broadcast who you are and what your intent is. Demanding them to be present is like demanding your IFF and ID match up. Many people simply don't want to - and I'm okay with that. But it's a double edged sword: Those tagless folk tend to get extra scrutiny from me in a combat craft (I'm generally lawful). In game ship names - Shryke - 11-01-2010 No, I don't want rules resulting from the actions of those don't follow the already established rules. The rules would be 20 pages along and complex to the point where you'd need to be a lawyer to understand them. There will always be idiots. Don't plan on getting rid of them any time soon. I don't see how encouraging RP with Tags is a "sweeping change," but rather an attempt at better RP. It seems, from all this, it really just comes down to the individual and what they are dealt in the game. There is also fine line to RP and getting sanctioned, which is off topic. I was just hoping that with more tagged ships, it would force players to adhere to their faction's mentality to some degree and hence promote better RP. Apparently, again, it falls upon the individual to make that call one way or another. We can't filter stupid and we can force generate intelligence. I'll just try to make my RP worth the time someone is willing to accept and hope it works. If not, oh well. I'll bite my lip and drive on. In game ship names - Varyag - 11-01-2010 For most of my non-faction capitals I don't have an identifier on the name. If it has a LNS or Bret or rhein prefix the bomber noobs gank you dern near instantly. I like to have a little fun in my cattle bruisers before a swarm of bombers show up with lulz cattlebruiser DAIH flashing across system chat. They know caps are easy targets so they come after us quickly. How exactly does using tags do this? You haven't explained it, just repeated it ad nauseum. In game ship names - Adam_Spire - 11-02-2010 ' Wrote:How exactly does using tags do this? Perhaps you feel being one who has posted much on the forums than myself, can figure out someone, like myself, by reading the first and last lines. Fortunately for me, some, more objective individuals helped clarify a lot that I just didn't grasp before. For their objectivity and not thinking I'm like everyone else, they win a cookie, a home baked chocolate chip one. But you don't get a cookie. You're cookie-less and forever shall be void of cookies. Go drink milk and never dunk again. In game ship names - Shryke - 11-02-2010 ' Wrote:I see a Hog or KNF or BD, I know that I should either brave the run, take a JH or find another route. That's my point. Oh no I got your point from the get-go. You'd like to know who is who anywhere in Sirius from your location so you can powertrade in peace. Still doesn't explain how it makes for better RP. In game ship names - Adam_Spire - 11-02-2010 ' Wrote:Oh no I got your point from the get-go. I'm requesting the thread be locked as it will just go down hill from here.
