That is what I am figuring Nubbie-in-my-tubbie.

When I see the 2010'ers still thinking there are completely fresh but forget still it's 2011.

But even when we had this survey in 2008 the server started when? 2005?

Demographics shifted as I suppose back then wasn't as many ways to accumulate credits? Or did the changes in the economic side of the mod increase the capacity to produce large sums. And everyone who is broke is blowing smoke out their rears in saying its harder to make credits.

Or rather it is harder to save cash verses spending it.

Would it really be cost effective to have insurance? Only thing that is perishable is bots and cargo -missiles and repair bills.

Considering the politics of everything now heading towards 486 should reflect an inflation to credits. So everything should start costing more -or seem to in order to reflect a international market stressed.

I could say this confidently....

1 credit now equals about 2.56 credits in 484 and early 485.

IF I was taking things at face value. I would really need to know when that amount in the bank was obtained consecutively. I'm upset I didn't foresee the need to add that question in.

i wouldnt say it is hard. people are just lazy to trade. when you need to make a hundred million, you go and fly around for 3 hours and dont meet pirates at all. unless of course you use all the spammed lanes. people seem to fail to see, that the promise of quick profit (lanes) is the ultimate downfall of their income. slowly, but surely applies here. i barely meet a pirate when i trade.

That, and they have sat upon their credits for a long time. And just added to it. Most of the multi-billionaires are old-school.
I would have to agree with this, but would also add weapon dealing as a means to make money in 4.84. I mean come on, Excals for 30 million...(yes there is still some of that now, but then it was present in a greater scale from what I remember).

Old players = old money.

ATM I'm around 2-3bil and I earned all of my money by piracy.
All the money I make as Kishiro flows into a bank or a ship or a whatever Kishiro needs.

There's about 2 more bil. in real estate things such as cau8, barges, 5k trains etc

Well, Vlko said part of it here, that a lot of people just don't frigging learn...

As far as real world time is concerned... you just have to simply have the patience to sit down and trade for a day. The old trade route from 4.84 that I used to use was engine components from The Ring to New London, then bring something or other back, took about 30 minutes round trip, and with a 5K ship made about 60 million per hour. Once 4.85 came out, I switched my route just a little - so hitting The Ring, Kennsington, up to Leeds via Sheffield JH, back down to Hamburg, and then to The Ring. Total trip time now is about 45-50 minutes for a circle, depending upon how many times NPC's disrupt me, and I make about 60 mil with a Shire.

The key thing is that none of us are casual players. We're the players that, when we get on and there's nothing else to do, can whip out our trader and let him go - and if we start a new ship, we don't really need the map, because we already have most of the systems memorized such that we can click on a spot to get to the jump hole - and when we get there, we're within 200 meters....

Very true. Ever since mining got nerfed there heasn't been anything implemented to counterbalance it.

55 % trading, which is a solo activity with only npc interation (bases) while trying to avoid any player interaction (likely pirates). All roleplay I get is "Hi!" between the tradelanes. I never see traders with escorts.
=> not much roleplay is generated.

11 % mining, which is a group activity (small miners cannot work alone / haulers need to be present) and where even the silent powerminer creates ineraction by being at a place that is easy to find for pirates, mercs, etc.

Buff mining. It will improve the number of player-player interaction drastically because solo-afk-trading is just the opposite of what a roleplay server needs.

Edit: I make my money by mining and hauling. I try to avoid hauling my ore myself because it is lame and boring. Disco is for me playing in a team. Trading is no team effort. I want to roleplay even when I am making money.

Welp I worked 4 hours creating a stock market formula based on the data so far. And it's flexible enough to change with the tides.

Finding the data to be very very very grossly gapped. But I'm just happy I got the formula finished xD
