Cruise disruptor detonating mines and missiles - Hades - 06-18-2011 ' Wrote:If you've played for 5 years, you shouldn't be having that problem. But on the other hand, In all my time I've flown fighters and bombers almost exclusively, and used to have a Sunslayer on every ship.I'm not saying I have the problem of hitting people, I never said that. I said they were easy to dodge and I have never been killed by a missile before. Cruise disruptor detonating mines and missiles - Not Espi - 06-18-2011 unbalanced. tracking is horrible:D Cruise disruptor detonating mines and missiles - Backo - 06-19-2011 Yes, it's balanced. If you remove that ability from the CD suddenly it'll be all MR/Torpedo, no wait... torpedo is useless at the moment so yeah all Mini Razor. Do you think that perhaps people might opt to mount a cruise disruptor in order to disrupt people's cruise? I mean, it's a farfetched possibility . . . Cruise disruptor detonating mines and missiles - Backo - 06-19-2011 ' Wrote:Do you think that perhaps people might opt to mount a cruise disruptor in order to disrupt people's cruise? Simple as that. :cool:Plus a good portion of disco's pvp happens with no thought if you'll die or not, you fight to the end, thus no need to CD. That kinda leaves the CD to piracy and catching them "cowards". <strike>Still not as widely used as the MR.</strike> Still a 50/50 with the razor from what I've seen. When irony fails, fall on simplicity. I guess the point I was trying to illustrate is that a cruise disruptor is and should be primarily for disrupting cruise. I think the idea of remote detonation is really interesting, but I don't think it should be tied in with a cruise disruptor all in one. Maybe a few different "EM Detonator" torpedoes could be added which function in a similar way to the Train CD now, but with slower top speed, better turning, and comparable radius. (and obviously without the effects of a disruptor) Cruise disruptor detonating mines and missiles - chopper - 06-19-2011 Slower speed makes it useless. Anyway, CD's are a must for every decent Pirate or Mercenary, and they serve it's basic purpose of disrupting engines. When I see a Merc without a CD trying to hunt me, I just start my cruise engines and laugh. Not because I can't beat him, but because I can't take him seriously. (and obviously without the effects of a disruptor) Trust me, I got what you were saying even when you ironically pointed it. But what I'm saying is that the Disruptor's multifunctionallity is what makes it good. Also the "torpedo" you described is actually the Mosquito CD, just saying. My vote still stays on "keep it as it is". Also view the "disruption" as *static*ing up all electronic systems in range. I doubt it has some special voodoo magic that only works on the special cruise engine mechanics. If you want to create diversity, give a good idea on how to make the torpedoes (Starkiller/Sunslayer) useful again. And by useful I mean being seen more then once every week if you happen to stumble across a low level newbie or a ex-HHC player. Cruise disruptor detonating mines and missiles - Hexx - 06-19-2011 In all honesty, a small, high speed, electronically disruptive missile in its own right is going to blow up another missile that it captures in its burst radius. I don't think that's such a stretch within RP, it makes a lot of sense. As for torpedoes, they used to be balanced. But now parts seldom fall off from damage, and the Sunslayer didn't get an upgrade with everything else. I'd suggest that we make them CD-proof, seeing as they are larger, and probably have a stronger, more heavily shielded casing. Well not one CD that is. |
