SO yeah no taking anything from pirates NOR giving them anything or taking anything from trader and giving them anything
It's ok. Don't change anything.

EDIT : Why did it cut my text?

so it's easy to get escorts? let me drop two posts here.

first is me asking Yesterday Morning for just that in the forums:

Let's stay on topic and discuss the impact of removing CDs from Bombers and Gunboats on bounty-hunting gameplay.

Looking at what you wrote. It looks boring, People probably took a Look and instantly left. Also, there is no Mention of Money and what the Escort would get. There is almost no Role Play in your Thread. (Mind you, the largest Reason to be an Escort is to Role Play with the Person you are escorting. Something your Thread does not offer).

Also there is your Time Zone Problem. Instead of just saying what Time Zone you are in (Which no one ever gets and is way too confusing) you should've used Sirius Time which is the Server Time.

Last Point is that you are giving no Information at all. It does not say what you are trading with, who you're trading with and who you are/who you're working for. It's your own Fault no one is replying.

Your choice #3 made it look to me like you were trolling.

I am not sure if a better explanation in the OP would have triggered different reactions though.

Since the CD is not only used to stop cruising ships but is a fighting utensil as well, it would greatly alter balance if taken away.

I can't speak much for piloting assault ships, but for smaller transports the CD is extremely important to get away from gunboats and clear out approaching mines. The same probably goes for gunboats.

Fighters slaughter bombers already... If they're any good at all.

It is easy except when the player count on server is low, then there is no need anyways cause you can go around any of a few pirates that are on. But... I thought this wan't about pirates? :|

Well i thought it wasnt about pirates either. but peeps keep bringing it up. guess i got lost in the Tide of Prat.Prat.Prat. Prat. Prat. Prat. Prat. Prat. Prat. Prat. Prat. Prat. Prat. Prat. Prat. Prat. Prat. Prat. Prat. Prat. Prat. Prat. Prat. Prat. Prat. Prat. Prat. Prat. Prat. Prat. Prat. Prat. Prat. Prat. Prat. . . . . well you get the idea.

it's like you try to explain yourself, and then somebody else will look at your text and find ANY way to discredit you. It's not a pirate thread, then we begin to have nice discussion about Fleet tactics and what not, which i'm liking, since i don't so much of them, because of my wierd gaming times(well that is unless i play with Euros. those crazy chaps are Hilarious) and then peeps on one hand begin to start yeppin about escorts and i again try to prove my point only to have that thrown in my face because my thread at tryin to get escorts wasn't up to thier standards. . . . .

sorry bout that above rant. i just get tired when you gotta wade through the trolls of trash to find the gems or discussion.

but then again, i guess i shoulda went over my post with a flame detector. :)

thanx folks for ALL your replies, though I may think some of your replies are Total Troll Trash. I still welcome it to a point as it's your point of view, and that's what i am really tryin to see.

Cruise Disruptors are only good for keeping a target in range, but its not a good idea to jump someone on the trade lanes, usually the cargo ships take other routes. I have a heavy fighter that can take a beating, I ask people for escort servises, but everyone thinks they have a good chance on their own. I remember a convoy in the Magellen system, alot of ships in that one convoy. People want to fly solo, but if I had a choice, I would hook up with some people heading in the direction I want to go to. Gunships, maybe. I mean, the Gunship is for engaging multiple crafts, but if engaging a starship thats trying to get away cause of heavy damage, do it for the kill. Though pirates and some Kusari based Guards always want to blow me up for carrying a certain cargo, which has nothing to do with em and sells low at the bases they goto. CD are only good for keeping a ship you were fighting with rather than using it to try and hijack someone.

gunboats - they either die quickly or deal big damage, depends on pilots. I would leave CD as well because it's role also includes intercepting/destroying/pirating transports.
bombers - while co-operation is always good I dont find it neccesary to remove disruptors from this vessel which will turn bombers into snub not capable of keeping enemy cap in place during SNAC-pounding.

Dude. I've been playing corporate characters here for almost twice the time you've been on this server.

Escorts do not exist. I'll quote something I put on the dev forum, after snipping out the balance bits.
Quote:Escorts do not exist. I have played trade and corporate characters for the last 4 years. Over the last 2 years, the number of mercenary snubs has massively increased. The number of escorts has diminished however.

The average player creates a BHG to hunt Outcasts and Corsairs in the Omicrons for bounty payouts. The average merc is unlawful (busy raiding Bretonia to kill BAF ensigns, etc) and the others are out collecting blanket bounties on misc others.

Escorting is not profitable or fun for them, therefore they don't do it. You're lucky to find one escort who's willing to actually work, and that's without considering you'll be paying him the majority of your route profits to do so. Two escorts is under regular conditions impossible. That means, traders are utterly at the mercy of [...].

[...]. I personally have always been a big advocate of 'scouts over escorts' though. This still doesn't help in many cases, however. For example, the California/New York gates, the Omega 3/Omega 7 gates, the Frankfurt/Munich gates, the Kyushu/New Tokyo gates. There aren't any routes around these (that make sense for corporate/civilian traffic), effectively rendering scouts useless against pirate blockades of certain points. You're left with 'get pirated' or 'log off'.

And before a select number of you chime in with, "well, I play an escort merc. You should just look harder", well, good for you. Now you go convince even 1/20th of mercs to occasionally fly as escorts as well, and we're golden.
In short, there's no incentive for people to play escorts or scouts. The only people who do are in it for the niche aspect of that particular RP. There aren't many people like that, meaning, there aren't many escorts around. This of course means that 'getting an escort' isn't a viable solution, because there aren't enough in comparison to the number of traders who are willing to pay them.

The guy's post may not have been inspired, but it's not his fault he's not got anyone to fly with. Even if someone had replied, 9 times out of 10, he'd never have actually got to see them ingame. People are flakey like that.

I can't say much about Omegas or New Tokyo as I don't spend much time there. But in Liberty you can wait couple of minutes and chances that pirates will get distracted very soon are fairly high.
