I'm pretty sure most houses would take offence to cloaking devices used by anyone but themselves anyway, given the vanilla storyline.

Hmm I wonder if there would be a way for ships with cloaking devices to avoid the detection of House Militaries... :nyam:
But yes I expect laws to be changed quickly and limit their use...destroying any ship that uses them as it it was a cruiser violating their space...just because of how dangerous they are, not sure if their construction material would factor into why it was banned. If a house has yet to build them themselves, how would they know what is inside one?

Consider the cloaking devices that are being manufactured as ones that can be used on the move.
Currently we consider most capital ships to cloak when they F1.
These devices let you roam around cloaked, something pretty revolutionary.

I agree though, it seems like a brutally obscure thing to require. Unless you intend all of this new gear to only end up in the hands of a few. In which case it seems rather unfair and a serious power advantage to those who can afford it.
