Turn the barge into 20k transport (equal to 4 transports x5k cargo). Its size to be equal to ~ 4 trains. Make it useful ship, slow, with a lot of armor and no weapons. Able to dock only on planets so the players to be unable to powertrade with it.

I would like to leave it as it is.
Although, increase cargo capacity, less armor, remove cruise speed would be good in my opinion too.

Now i have seen several responses. but when taking those cruise engines. the last few who like to fly it will stop flying it too. also if you would add jumpdrive. it will be an abusive ship. For the ones who has it. as i see server statistics only a mere 70 barges are ingame. wich are mostly in my view at the great houses and players who play here a long time. Think the fun flying that thing must not be taken. Also for jumping it you need 2 ships. a jumper and barge itself. In most cases normal trains are easier and much safer to use. (also due to docking as to pirates) for making cash with it you mostly get pirated if you dont watch it now as it is. because its so slow for docking. and the size its just something you cannot miss with your guns. (or you must be blind :D) the 40k storage is the cause the barge is allready so nerved. if its increased i woud say nerf it more. like what i had in a prior post for player base for example a module where only barges can dock to. so you would maybe have in total if storage of barge would be increased like say 60 or 80k you have 60(or 80) - 40k storage in your base. as its also hard to dock the barge would be an option to increase the base storage a little.
as for using it as a mobile base. must say guys fun idea. but easaly abused. and in my view some of the idea's for when its shot it uses h-fuel or any compared fuels. it would drasticly use server resources. (if im not mistaken)
So its a mere ship. abusing is in everyone's nature. but when people can buy that damn thing it will be less abused as what you get then? PIRATES:Dwich claim for cargo high prices and so piracy would be a great factor to make money rather then earning it honestly. (in this case won't change a thing to the barge just release it at some base where its hard to get to. (a system where you can get to any house you like doing a route to RP without or at least few astroid fields. as they consume really much time with barge. and /stuck isn't fun then anymore.
sorry cannon. think there is not a real option only restrictions you can set and maybe easier take care of the barge. less armor increase shields etc etc. barge like items (docking modules, mooring points etc are options for this) but this was in my prior post.

add jump drive, more turning speed,undockable to small stations and some special equipment for the barge only like you have only 5 slots and you have to choose what do you want to be more cargo less armor or more armor less cargo and increase the cargo capacity of these modules.also of course add special shield for the barge.

I dont have a barge myself, but option 7 is more less good for me to pick.
option 6 is not bad idea too, but I love to see traders on Barges:D
