RE: Disco's future - Timbuktu - 12-06-2012

Anyone ever thought about making system caht default again?

I mean... sure you get mainly noobtalk in system chat then. But there are some positive side effects too:

-the noobs get more answers so they learn quicker, and their overall behavior/knowledge/enjoyment from getting help rises quicker too
-its less llllooooonnnneeelyyy in space

Making local default has its merits, but when the going get lonely, the system chat makes sense again.

I'll keep logging in till it isn't there anymore. Then I will mourn my cruisers and move on.

I should take a screen of the Varyag and put it in a little frame so I never forget.

The Main reason Discovery seems to be headed on a steep slope now is less Star Citizen and more Player Loss. Alot of veterans have left us and many, many official factions have collapsed.

I've had little (but some) meaningful RP interaction over the last few weeks on any of my characters, and most of what I've run into are afk traders or folks who just don't RP. The thing is we're not replacing alot of the folks who are lost.

That being said, the reason I still play Discovery at all was pretty much entirely Lobster's fault for convincing me to come back then disappearing. But it's still amusing enough now and then to keep me sort of around.

Still, Discovery's age is starting to show. I'll be around so long as it amuses me.

One of the first threads I posted it, is one from 2007 in which you say disco is dying.

AND I WAS RIGHT!

RE: Disco's future - Trogdor - 12-08-2012

I come and go, checking in from time to time hoping that things will get better for the Zoners. Sadly, to much of the community they are a joke. My Zoner isn't much fun to play with the constant fear of SANKSHUN. Also player bases and the new equipment were a big letdown, it all started useless or got nerfed into uselessness.

RE: Disco's future - massdriver - 12-08-2012

if 487 will get released past SC then most of players will move out here.

RE: Disco's future - lw'nafh - 12-08-2012

I can think of a host of reasons to say Discovery will die; Star Citizen is not one of them.
