To everyone who's complaining about "losing xxx hours/losing xxx credits":
You haven't lost time. You have been playing a game in those hours. If you weren't enjoying yourself at the time, then what you're doing isn't playing the game simply to enjoy it. Nothing is permanently gone. Any money you made over the past week, you can make again in the coming week.
A rollback was the least bad option. "Some" people had been taking a very unfair advantage of the playerbase-only rollbacks in withdrawing the base banks and then waiting for the restore to magically make money and items reappear. I hope the folks shouting loudly here weren't getting their credits that way, but regardless, that kind of behaviour and the fact that the DDOSsing prevented base maintenance, forced a full rollback.
It's a free game guys, enjoy it as it is.

It's not really about that, indy.miner1. Most community members believe they actually have rights here and a say in what happens on the server, while in reality what they have is the possibility to post suggestions and the auth from the admins to play.
People tend to forget disco is privately owned and they could be banned whenever Cannon wishes, their ships wiped or whatever he want to do, but then it would be a matter of reputation.
The only big difference between disco and most other communities I've studied or been part of, is that the admins here justify everything they do. You don't end up with a ban out of nowhere just because the admin disliked your name or you said something bad about him.
Although, toying with Cannon's patience is not something I recommend.

You right. But... what about if it happens again in 1 week ?
It's like a movie where everything is repeated again and again...
Then where would be the fun? At one point, the fun will turn into boredom.
I really hope that the database will be preserved and situations like this will not happen again.

This is the private modification of a commercial game, currently hosted on a German server - which I had suggested.
While I understand that this private enterprise takes a LOT of work, time, sexual frustration, alcoholism, paranoia, megalomania, asocial tendencies, violence, time and work.
Not to mention unintentional farting because some of your gaming mates just died and you realize that you just a moron like anyone else:

Bitch and complain. Never happy here. I would love for Cannon to just say "OK, you do not want the rollback? NP. Oh look, all bases are gone, as they did not get restocked, but hey, here is your 50-100-200 whatever mil back." But hey guess what, you would all bitch and whine about that then.
The admins were nice to do a rollback. If you were stupid enough to try and make cash, or chars during an attack, then you deserve to lose cash fools.
PS. Looking back at the whining i noticed something. Not one vet complained here, only noobs. Hmmmm co-incidence? I think not. Yet we wonder why lately server is getting worse, i wonder.

Heck, if this happened back in late 09 when I started playing, and had lost my 50 million credits because of this? I would be pretty angry too.
