RE: First Baffin Zoner Zummit at The Zenarch, Malaclypse Freeport - Littleone - 04-29-2013 "Well..." James replied, thinking hard. "It could be tricky to set up, but, you invent things, no? And so do we. We have various... Marketing campaigns to try and extend our influence on the market. As you know, one of our main goals is to control as much of the technology market as possible, and, well... My members would frown upon me working with another faction that wishes to buy into the technology market, if we are going to make this work, we will need to come to some form of arrangement regarding that." He looked at Robert. "Any thoughts?". RE: First Baffin Zoner Zummit at The Zenarch, Malaclypse Freeport - rainth345 - 04-29-2013 Preparation... utter preparation... Behind the clever disguise of a huge stage in the center of the Ampitheatre lay the service men who prepared all the necessary equipment for the summit... projectors, datapads... even... extra food and drinks if the current one on the stage did not suffice One of the personnel leading the peons... was Professor Louis Carlisle. ![]() It seemed that Doctor Van Mojo needed a few extra hands that could work out some piffer-paffer on a few electrical equipment... luckily for him... Professor Carlisle had a few apprentices who were experts on the job. "Thats it, lads! Keep up the work." Oddly for the Professor... he was wearing a Hawaiian shirt with khaki shorts, nothing to say much of the Professor. Years in the Baffin Research Institute left him without a notion for style. He'd always like to keep things simple... and without chaos. Through two peep holes in the backwall of the stage did Professor Carlisle used to survey the Ampitheatre. "One.... two.... Five.... oh my... even a fox..." He adjusts his thick glasses accordingly.... and seemingly pulls out a datapad from inside his shirt. Quote: "I guess the party's coming to life now...." A slight grin forms across his face.... Just then... a stage hand trips over a wire... causing the box that he was carrying to crash unto floor. "Oh... what now?? Gary.... I told you-" RE: First Baffin Zoner Zummit at The Zenarch, Malaclypse Freeport - Duvelske - 04-29-2013 While Richard docks on the Malaclypse Freeport he was a littlebit distracted by a picture which was shown on the right side of his controls. It shows his Wife Moniek and his baby child Ryan Cole. Moniek holds Ryan in her arms.. Before leaving the ship he takes the picture along with him and puts it into a pocket on the inside of his jacket. Suddenly a woman is in front of him just when he steps outside of his ship. "Kallisti miss, I am here for the Zoner Zummit. Could you please show me the way?" The miss shows Richard the way and while he entered he did see a lot of people. He looks around and he did spot some formiliar faces. He didn't want to disrupt any of them. After a few minutes he did spot Commander Matok and walked towards him. "Kallisti Commander Matok, I see this spot is still not taken? I hope you don't mind I will sit down next to you dear neighbour?" with a small hesitation he is sitting down next to Commander Matok. RE: First Baffin Zoner Zummit at The Zenarch, Malaclypse Freeport - Eduard - 04-29-2013 " I do have some ideas actually " he muttered But before saying anything, he suddenly paused for a moment as a thought struck his mind " Actually, that's a little more complicated than I assumed. The Commonwealth would also like to develop its presence on the Market. Still, I presume that at the moment, both of our associations face the impossibility of monopolizing the market, non? I am sure there are items you cannot procure or produce while there are some of this wonders on our side as well. We could work an arrangement where... Instead of scarying possible contracts away from each other ... If we, let's say, face a contract that we cannot complete or undertake, we will point it to you, and vice versa. " The deal is risky, Robert wouldn't like to know that a possible business rival has the chance of becoming influential by the day right behind his back with his approval. Still, this so called business "rival" could easily turn into a business partner as well. And Robert would choose a partner over a rival anytime. He just needs to play his cards right. "Sirius has its hostilities, indeed, not just on the battlefield but also behind the curtains, and these are the ones which shed the most of blood, I tell you. We both have our strengths and weaknesses, non, monsieur? If we would form a partnership or... a "Commercial League" we could narrow down these weaknesses. Think of it as a simbiosis. And like I said earlier, I doubt we can monopolize the entire market to actually be a rival to each other and I am more than sure we have different ideas for our productions. So why not we think of this suggestion for a second? " Before he could add anything else, a loud sound was heard in the background as if something crashed. Robert's attention suddenly changed to it for a second as his head tilted into the direction of where the sound came from RE: First Baffin Zoner Zummit at The Zenarch, Malaclypse Freeport - Littleone - 04-29-2013 James too, had heard the sound. "What was that? Dammit... I thought I'd picked a quiet spot." He turned to Robert, "Would you like to continue? Or should we stop these interruptions first?". RE: First Baffin Zoner Zummit at The Zenarch, Malaclypse Freeport - Eduard - 04-29-2013 Turning back to James he said: "I think we've settled anything we could settle at this moment. I am afraid we will have to continue this discussion on a private frequency channel after I discuss with the Council as well " He then closed up on James and, reverting back from his serious attitude he warmly said: " But now, we have a party to attend to, don't we? " RE: First Baffin Zoner Zummit at The Zenarch, Malaclypse Freeport - Littleone - 04-29-2013 "Ah, indeed, I've been waiting to try this wine they have." He motions towards a table piled with food and drink. "If you don't mind...?". RE: First Baffin Zoner Zummit at The Zenarch, Malaclypse Freeport - Eduard - 04-29-2013 " I would go to that drink on the far corner if I were you " He points to the closed bottle with Gaul symbols on it " You'll never taste a wine better than that or my name is Marie Curie, and it isn't. " He smiled "That being said, I hope I will have to leave you temporary. There are some other friends I happened to have left behind. Au revoir, and have fun " he said, tilting his hat, then going into the crowds trying to meet another new face or get in touch with the ones he left a few minutes ago RE: First Baffin Zoner Zummit at The Zenarch, Malaclypse Freeport - Littleone - 04-29-2013 James watched as Robert walked away, then, once he was gone, made his way over to the table Robert pointed to and poured himself some wine. He raised the wine to his lips, took a sip, swirled it around in his mouth for a couple of seconds and then smiled appreciatively. "Damn... He was right about it being the best wine I've ever tasted!" James quickly picked up a plate, piled it up with some food, and then went off to meet some of the other members. RE: First Baffin Zoner Zummit at The Zenarch, Malaclypse Freeport - Quiron - 04-29-2013 I wonder if there will be anything planned events, speeches or simply the chatting I could expect here. Quiron muttered himself while approaching the tables full of food. What is this? It should be eaten or drinked instead? He barely recognize the half of the served goods. Luxury is not the thing he got used to in the Edge worlds. A glass of wine will be enough... After serving himself, he walked to an upper row of the amphitheatre to have a better view of this event. The diversity of the present people seemed quite remarkable, yet he feeled himself slightly far from these kind of things. This all is a bit ostentatious, but serves its purpose well, as I see. He slowly pulled out a cigar from his pocket with this thoughts and sat down to enjoy it along with the wine. |
