RE: The wiki update status - .Gypsy. - 03-05-2015 OK, didn't know I could (thought only the Wiki team could). will do ![]() EDIT: Done! RE: The wiki update status - Error - 03-05-2015 Many thanks! Always happy to see new users contribute to the Wiki.
RE: The wiki update status - Alexander - 03-05-2015 I might be able to help too if someone would point me to the right direction. Edit: I found out myself that is easier than i tough. RE: The wiki update status - Mao - 04-03-2015 I tried to update information on my wiki profile but I couldn't for some reason... "You do not have permission to edit this page, for the following reason: The action you have requested is limited to users in one of the groups: Users, emailconfirmed." RE: The wiki update status - Remnant - 04-03-2015 Taking a guess here, but as it's written, that sounds like you haven't used your email account and activated that account just yet. See if there's a place you can resend activation, and click the link that's sent to you. Try again afterwards. RE: The wiki update status - Alley - 04-03-2015 I don't think the wiki can send emails at all. I didn't configure it to use our new sender. I'll have to look into that. RE: The wiki update status - Mao - 04-03-2015 I've used my account in the past. Been inactive for 2 years (?). "Your e-mail address was authenticated on 29 July 2009 at 03:52." But then, there's this: "Member of groups: Autoconfirmed users, Users" :| RE: The wiki update status - Remnant - 04-03-2015 PM me your Wiki username, i'll look into it. RE: The wiki update status - Error - 04-05-2015 Did you get it figured out, @moveit56 and @Mao? I haven't got any rights to modify most user groups (including manually adding you to emailconfirmed) as a sysop, unfortunately, so there's probably not much I can do about it myself if that's the issue, so help from somebody on the administration team with appropriate access rights would be much appreciated. PS: Which page were you trying to edit? And thanks, @Alley! It seems like that may indeed be the case, now that you mention it: After looking through Recent Changes and the user creation log, it doesn't look like any of the user accounts created over the last few weeks have made any edits nor are any of them in the emailconfirmed group, so that being the case would make sense. RE: The wiki update status - Remnant - 04-05-2015 I've had to do things manually through the SQL database, nulling out a few fields in order to fix the issue. MediaWiki either doesn't have a good user management system, or I just haven't found it yet. It's resolved, although the fix is rather sketchy. If it works though, I suppose it works. If you know anything that I don't on the User Management stuff for MW, throw me a skype message @Error Thanks! |
