Field Report 02/13/827

At roughly 1800 hours today I began my recon of the Omicron Delta system. Initial patrol sweep around the Freeport showed clear scanners, but upon approach of planet Nauru my scanner was flooded with multiple ships varying in size and IFF. Upon closer inspection it was a skirmish between the forces of the Core and the Order's warships assisted by a Coalition cruiser and numerous bomber pilots.

In the whole fray there were also a number of ships that agent Siren might have an interest in. Ships with faulty IFFs, mix and match of various factions' equipment and what would look like advanced alien prototype weaponry. Scan data is incomplete, but from initial measurements their technology could rival if not beat our adaptations of the alien weaponry. What is also interesting to note is that among them was also a BDR-804 "Guardian" with prototype weaponry that fled as soon as I tried to intercept it. This would be the second such ship I have encountered in the Omicrons, the other one being destroyed by a gunboat missile. Neither time did the pilot try to open communications with me and instead was either evasive or hostile upon contact.

At roughly 1840 hours I was joined by agent Sasquatch and together with the help of some Core pilots we managed to take out an Order gunboat that had strayed away from the rest of the Order battlegroup in Nauru's high orbit. Unfortunately due to limited firepower that was our only notable success against the Order's forces and at 1915 hours I disengaged from the scene and returned to base for refuel and more detailed damage assessment on my ship.

At 2150 hours in Manhattan's high orbit I picked up the signal of an Outcast fighter circling outside of the defense perimeter. Contact was talkative and tried to lure me towards Westpoint. Agent Warden arrived on the scene soon after and we trailed the pirate along the lane towards the academy station. The pirate's intention soon became obvious as another Outcast appeared on scanners. A duo of mercenaries engaged them prematurely before we could further assess the full scope of the situation.

The pirates quickly made short work of the mercenary fighter and turned their guns on the gunboat forcing agent Warden and I to attempt and save the gunboat. The mercenary was of more trouble than use in the fight, causing a torpedo detonation close enough to catch agent Warden's ship in the blast radius. The hostiles took the initiative and focused his damaged ship, forcing Warden to eject, but not before doing enough damage to their heavier fighter craft and giving me the opportunity to finish it off quickly with just a single mine detonation. The second pirate piloted a lighter strike craft, which was much easier to overpower in a direct confrontation and his ship's decommission came much easier.

Reassessing the situation now, I believe we made a crucial mistake not to focus the lighter craft first. That coupled with the pressure caused by the unneeded interference of the mercenaries led to unnecessary losses that could have likely been avoided should the situation have been handled differently.

Field Report 02/17/827

The Fort Pickens ran a patrol route between California and Pennsylvania. Not long after entering Pennsylvania, a very particular transport was spotted on scans. A Battlegroup Harmony Bison-class transport, running under the signature SNS Dallas. In an uncharacteristic display for a known hostile, they were compliant when requested to stop. Their cargo was very interesting. Coupled with the last report, it is likely that this was a logistics vessel for the station in question. On a hunch, it was given a head start and was given chase across a fair portion of the Whitney Ice Field, before making an emergency dock with Alcatraz Depot. In conjunction with their heading already being towards California as well as their cargo, there is a good deal of circumstance suggesting that going through the Whitney Ice Field is part of their supply route.

Not long afterwards, an alert was sent out that an Outcast transport had been stopped in Texas. Upon my arrival, inspection displayed a cargo hold filled with gold. It was partially confiscated on the grounds that they refrain from similar activities within our borders. An eventful patrol.

Field Report 03/14/827

Today at 1555 hours I encountered an alien ship of roughly fighter size in high orbit above Manhattan. Further scans on the life form revealed an alien fuel cell in its hull. At roughly 1600 I opened fire on the Nomad and after managing to inflict significant damage on it, the alien attempted to escape by creating a bright light anomaly a couple of times. This anomaly caused my ship's systems to register odd readings in the space ahead of it. CD98a "Mosquito" seemed to disrupt this oddity and I was able to neutralize the Nomad vessel after a short chase into one of the nearby debris fields. Unfortunately I was unable to recover the alien fuel cell from its remains or any other useful salvage.

Field Report 03/28/827

At 2104 hours during our recon sweep of Honshu we intercepted a Coalition heavy tanker on its way towards Sigma-13. The ship was carrying full cargo hold of Platinum-198 Ore. Given the circumstances there was no option to confiscate the cargo or a way to force the captain to direct the ship towards Liberty for apprehension. Seeing that the transport vessel is not escorted and hostile to the Kusarian installations, Warden quickly came up with a plan for us to play along as would be escort. The captain seemed rather surprised, but quickly understood it wasn't a choice for him to make and played along. Warden took point and I stayed with the tanker to ensure that he won't turn back.

Our first stop was the Gas Miner installation Helgoland in Sigma-13 where the tanker docked and unloaded its cargo while we remained in space. We can't be sure if this was their original destination or if an attempt to throw us off from their true delivery endpoint. While the tanker was unloading onto the station, another Coalition heavy tanker was waiting near the station with an empty cargo hold. Its captain was just as uneasy about us escorting them but once his comrade undocked from the station they agreed to continue onwards. Strangely both their cargo holds were empty, perhaps because they were suspecting us to make a move at some point.

Our next waypoint was Frankfurt where we quickly found out that their ships were also marked as hostile by the Rheinland tradelane system. Without much issues we made our way to New Berlin where the two captains became more anxious, even if they attempted to hide it beneath some small talk regarding alcohol. Due to a lane malfunction I got split from Warden and the first tanker, but managed to convince the Coalition captain to halt their ship after jumping to Stuttgart. They shared more information regarding our next waypoint - Omega-7 and then Omega-2. Once Warden and the other tanker caught up we continued onward. The flight so far was suspiciously quiet until we made contact with a SCRA vessel of heavy fighter design on the last lane before the Omega-7 gate. Suspiciously the pilot did not try to hail nor intercept us or even disrupt the lane and all 4 of our ships arrived to Omega-7 without an effort.

At this point we were sure that the Coalition pilots were up to something, but decided to carry on and feign ignorance. I tried to get more information about what awaits in Omega-2 and the Coalition captain confessed that it is just a way to reach the Omega-47 system. The two captains attempted to use an explosive gas pocket field in Omega-7 to shake us off, but thanks to the array of shield batteries onboard we both managed to pass through it with relatively no damage to the hull structure of our fighters and reach Omega-2. We had no previous information on this system and the two captains again urged us to break off as this was hostile territory, but again we refused and decided to carry on. Unlike the explosive field of Omega-7, this new uncharted system's hazard was only a low level of radiation that pose no threat to a shielded ship. The transports led us on a direct path to the next jump hole, which left us little time to chart much of the system besides the direct path from the first jump hole to the next.

Once in Omega-47, the heavy tankers took course towards sector 23CD, at which point our scanners caught the signature of a Coalition carrier in the distance in a dozen or so K's distance of a big planet that had a hostile docking ring. A Hessian fighter undocked from the planet and locked on an intercept vector towards us. This forced us to disengage from our escort of the two tankers and attempt to shake off the incoming Red Hessian forces. The Coalition vessels used this opportunity to sharply change course towards the planet and carrier and escape. We took a wide arc turn through 34BC and then towards the big asteroid field ahead in hopes to shake off the chasing Red Hessians which at this point had became two, one of them being just a K out of my scanner range, but visible on Warden's scanners. While traversing the asteroid field, we managed to locate a jump hole in the 6C sector that luckily took us to the Exeter system.

The Red Hessians continued pursuit into Exeter, but at this point we were in a more familiar territory as the system was well enough explored by the Bretonians and we had information on possible points of escape. Dublin was chosen as most appropriate and in a rather close call where Warden was almost disrupted by the vanguard of the Red Hessian squadron behind us we managed to slip into Dublin where our pursuers finally broke off. I'm attaching what little nav-map data I have of Omega-47 along with the blackbox of our external audio communications.

Extraction back to Liberty afterwards was comparably uneventful. No direct contact was made with naval or police units of either foreign house throughout the mission.

Yesterday around 2200 hours I received a call for assistance from an LPI Officer. Officer Nazumaki was at the California Gate in NY. Luckily for him, my position at the time of the call was right in front of Missouri. I was quick enough to get to the Officer in time. Two Lane Hacker bombers were right next to the Jump Gate, codename Bone.Marrow and Konrad.Von.Gloda'.The hostile vessels were immediately engaged. Von.Gloda1 was quickly neutralized while the other Hacker managed to leave the scene. Thanks to TLAGSNET we managed to track down the Hacker and catch him in between lanes from Manhatttan to Ft. Bush. The pilot changed his ship to a V.H.F. and like his friend, he was put down2 fairly quickly.

2300 h - Moved to Hudson where I met with Captain Shepard of the LNS Vermont. She and I monitored the traffic outside the Texas Gate in Hudson. Due to a conflict in Rheinland, the traffic was greatly thinned. We've encountered a few ships, some of them being DSE and Planetform. Warnings were given and I let Captain Shepard handle the rest.

0100 h - Flew to Bering where I am awaiting further orders.

After receiving information about possible Rheinland Military ships in Texas, I proceeded to Hudson and found them lingering around Planet Atka (within 15 clicks) with a direction as if they came out of Texas' Trade Lanes. While questioning, Rheinland Police ship entered the vicinity and soon another Rheinland Military ship breached the perimeter. In the end, even Kempeitai destroyer showed up.

April 25th - Distress signal received from Newark Station. The hostile vessels have been spotted upon arrival at Newark Station area. Undetected by our forces, the Nomad Capital vessels managed to enter the area around Manhattan, but were quickly engaged by numerous Liberty lawful forces.

We struck Nomads with all we had and managed to neutralize all of the intruder's forces. All that was left were Rogues accompanied by Outcast fighter wings. The battle didn't last very long. Outcast fighters1 were neutralized2 fairly quickly. The Rogues had two gunships that were later tracked down in the Badlands. They too were eliminated3 with the help of the Bounty Hunters Guild pilots.

Later patrol went smooth without any interruptions.
