Hi Sir
From what I have seen so far...very impressed with 4.86!! Congradulations of everybodys efforts so far... and I look forward to seeing the hard work that has been put in and I have no doubt that it will be a smash with Starfyers 1.9 new release...
Question remains for me Where does the IMG Zepher fit in..a ship i love?

You should sell it right now. Because it becomes a CR only ship, and you won't be allowed to fly it. So sell it asap.

this has probably alread been asked but alas im not gonna read 50 pages
so
is there any stats on ANY of these ships yet or is that top secret for .86 and i know jinx mentioned somthing about BS's possibly having upto 30 guns? can anyone shed some light on the subject?

Many of the models are very good. Have to agree that the new spyglass looks like a piece of poop, though. To tell the truth, so do the two ships with the firefly bridge. I also have to agree that Jinx's model of the orca looks far far better than the current model. That thing looks likd a pregnant tie interceptor with the top half of the wings cut off and the bottom wings fused together. I would have liked to keep the renzu line asymetrical and distinctive but the replacement models are visualy appealing.

Just wait until you see it in-game. The render provided here doesn't do justice for the Spyglass until you've seen it up close.

That may be true. I doubt it, though. I'm not saying that it's detailed and rendered poorly. I am saying that it quite literally looks like a knobby piece of poo. It's only distinguishing features are it's spikes, which don't fit the rest of the ship and seem to serve no purpose. I can understand antennae spikes, it's supposed to be a spy/recon platform, but only the spikes on the nose look to be antennae spikes. The others are window dressing and don't fit the faction that designed and produced it or the faction that stole it. All in all it's a very sub-standard model, especially compared to the other new models.

Not every effort is worthy of praise. When my oldest daughter was five I oohed and aahhed over every drawing she gave me and some still hang on the fridge all these years later. Why? Because she was five and that was the best she could do. Maybe this ship is the best the designer could do. If so, that's fine. Not everybody is the reincarnation of Norman Rockwell. But unless the designer is five I'm not going to lie and tell them it's pretty or outstanding. That kind of thing does no good to anybody.

I would say that it fits in well with the other new ships that the HF is getting. They've got similar stylistic elements. How on earth does it not fit with the faction that stole it? How could you even make such a judgement?

Show me one hacker or hf ship with spikes like that and I'll concede the point. Show me one hacker or hf capship that is long and cylindrical rather than flat and wide and I'll concede the point. Show me one hacker or hf ship it resembles, not using those awful textures, and I'll concede the point.
I don't even really care that it's different than the other ships of the line, really. I like variety. It's design is simply insipid and uninspired. It's a long knobby offset tube with spikes coming off from it. Who here can honestly say that this ship...

I don't care if those ships have stretched textures or fewer polygons. Look at thier design, thier shape, thier character. The new spyglass has none of that. Essentially it's a flying poop with 50 bazillion polygons.
