☆ Subject: Planet Erie COIN Operations Alert

All Liberty forces operating in Pennsylvania, be advised:

Integration Team 3's network on Erie, while rooting out secessionist organizers, has come to the conclusion that a militia band is actively seeking information on my agents, informants and myself. We determined this after word reached us that some unintegrated civilians on Erie with suspected ties to the militia movement were passing our internal-use callsigns around, looking for leads.

This signals a significant security breach.

We've got screwball LPI to thank for this. Protocol at one of their internment camps was piss-poor during deconstruction, and an agitator got access to a terminal inside. It held records of our contact with their base admin on the facility's local-net. I'll file an official protest of their incompetence, but at this point who's counting?

Agents "Brook" and "Ozark" squeezed some sources. We think the perpetrators are tied to Group Clarion. Our existing threat profile paints them as a part of a larger militia we broke up back in early 832. Initial guess was, this data theft was a last gasp effort by a diehard out to do some damage. But then we got a lead that proved to us they're operating their own cargo transport. That tells me this cell's clinging to life somewhere.

Not just the cargo ship, either. They've been scraping together spacecraft for the last few months. We put what we know so far into a working list of their operating vessels and classes. See the following for intel.

MILITANT ID CRAFT:
  • Unknown ID - Destroyer or cruiser class vessel. Sounds unlikely with the cell's small size, but stay alert.
  • Gr.C|EMS-Leatherwood - Small, well-armed transport. Possibly Grouse or Armadillo class.
  • Gr.C|EMS-Black.Fox - Montante-class gunship. ID lines up with a reputed Pirate transponder.
  • Gr.C|"Gunstock" - Broadsword bomber. Spotted at Bethlehem Station with the Black Fox.

We also have a lock on several Zoner ships that we determine with reasonable confidence are linking this militia to the Pennsylvania smuggling network. Likely sympathizers. Interdict, interrogate, or eliminate as necessary.

ZONER ID CRAFT:
  • Camelbak - Kestrel freighter.
  • Red.Dandelion - Dromedary freighter.
  • Unknown ID - Sunburst freighter.

Counter-intel on this group is now Team 3's imminent priority. It's not impossible that this hunt for my agents, and the organized Militant raids lately occuring in Liberty space, are being orchestrated by Kusari handlers to study our response times. If there's a link between them and Kusari Intelligence, we'll find and cut it, along with any chance of them threatening our agents.

In service to the Republic.

09/04/836 - Coalition transport encounter, New York system

On April 7, 836 A.S., I received a telegram to instruct West Point Academy cadet Carl Williams. On April 9, according to the patrol schedule, I was assigned to a patrol with him, along with two other pilots - a Liberty Navy pilot "Romeo-6" and LSF pilot "Watchful Blade". The LSF agent was appointed commander of our patrol group and was informed of the purpose of this patrol: to check the area and conduct the first practical flight with the Cadet.

The patrol departed from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, after which our group moved to Pennsylvania. During the patrol, we scanned several passing ships, after which we encountered a pirate vessel - "Roku Nana". The criminal element was of Qusari origin and was interrogated on the matter and ordered to surrender. However, the pirate himself showed no aggression and reported the presence of a Coalition transport ship in orbit around the planet Manhattan in the New York system. According to him, the ship's captain was selling potatoes in Liberty Republic space. The group's commander, "Watchful Blade", ordered me and Carl Williams to get at Manhattan's orbit and check the situation.

Upon arrival in orbit around the planet, our sensors registered the presence of a hostile ship, and dispatchers at Newark and Trenton stations confirmed our readings, relying on Manhattan's orbital relays. The pirate wasn't lying: a Coalition Cyclone-class transport "Red.Star"-Potatomarket was present in orbit around the planet. Having established contact, we engaged in dialogue with the captain to interrogate him about his purpose in orbiting Manhattan, in the heart of the Liberty Republic. The ship's captain, a certain Pavel, claimed that the purpose of his arrival was commercial activity in the Liberty Republic, selling potatoes and claiming his ship as "glorious Potato Market in Galaxy" (direct quote, check Black Box data).

I handed over the interrogation to Cadet Carl Williams, but his efforts were ineffective. Deciding to take matters into my own hands, I pointed out the captain's affiliation with a group hostile to Liberty (the Coalition), as well as his illegal activities in Republic space. I ordered the captain to disable the shields and abandon ship so we could retrieve them and transport them to the nearest interrogation location, then tow their ship. The captain attempted to steer the ship toward the Jersey Debris Field, ignoring our orders. This was interpreted as insubordination, leading to a deadlock in negotiations, and we were forced to open fire. The attacking force consisted of an LSF agent "Watchful Blade" and Liberty Navy pilot "Romeo-6". After a short battle, the enemy ship was destroyed, and the remains of the hold were either destroyed or collected by us for examination at the nearest laboratory for the presence of poison.

After this incident, the patrol continued, with the final stop being the Battleship Alma in orbit around Erie. No other incidents occurred between these events. The replacement team was already waiting for us, and we docked with the battleship, after which we handed over the ships for maintenance.

Scanner data, photo confirmation of the target's destruction, and black box data are attached.

P.S.: This report also includes a character reference for Cadet Carl Williams, which must be forwarded to West Point Academy.

LIBERTY NAVY PATROL REPORT

Cadet Claire Valenzuela

Patrol turned massive firefight log:

Cadet Valenzuela checking in,

Undocked from Norfolk as fast as I could after receiving a call from Matthew Austin for a routine patrol. After undocking I met a "Interdictor"-class Battlecruiser just outside with the name Santisima Trinidad. One Lt. Pablo who I assume was in command of the vessel was asking for help regarding the location of a jump hole headed to Virginia. I was not aware of that and I made it clear to him that I was a cadet with no knowledge of that jump hole or system. After that I took my leave and went ahead to Pennsylvania to meet up with Austin.

When I arrived in Pennsylvania, Austin was speaking to a Freelancer going by the name of Coyotin. I did not get the full conversation but I did initiate a scan on their ship, a Broadsword black market bomber. (Attached scan results at the end of this report.) There has been no signs of aggression from the pilot and everything went smoothly. While that was going on another ship entered scanner range and made a beeline for us, Freelancer named The Illusionist. Quite a name even for me. Same pattern as the last ship, no aggression more on dialogue and when I also ran a scan, it was an interesting ship. It was a Thor black market bomber. The pilot claims his is a mercenary for hire and that his ship was bought second hand because his last ship, a Roc, blew up.

Austin checked it on his end and told me its fine and we moved on after getting information about a Zoner warship named Warlock+, near or in grid F3 and we proceeded to fly there. Visual was confirmed by both me and Austin and a recording is also attached. It flew fast towards and docked in Bethlehem Station. I admit I thought it cloaked when it disappeared from my sight. After that Austin gave me a refresher on sensors and scanners so that I can get a grip on checking distance between ships to be able to identify and follow them.

Couple minutes Austin got a call regarding a gathering in California and that a sizable navy force was meeting in West Point to see what was going on. We took the trade lane to California Gate and jumped and waited for orders. A minute later we got orders to move to the Texas system since it was already getting hot there.

When we arrived, the first thing I saw was the biggest battle I have ever seen. Between our navy and a pack of Xenos. There were I think 8 of them, I was not sure since everything was filled with shots from both sides. Some pirate vessels arrived as well and started shooting at us. We jumped into the fire when Austin was targeted and I moved to support him but he told me to make a run for it. I was about to complain but decided to follow orders. I was about to reach the North Dallas debris field when I lost Austin's signature, he was shot out of the sky.

I decided to fly back, to at least get some shots in, try to avenge him. I almost lost my nerve as I tried to stay calm and watch the fight continue. Both sides lost ships but it was a problem because the Xenos had a Archon on their side and was taking shots at us. The enemy ships took advantage of the California Jump hole to escape mid fight and come back while we were getting pounded.

We were given orders to finally jump in and during the firefight I lost my composure and shouted at one of the enemy ships and I quote, "Die already!". The surviving navy ships then turned the tide and we ended the battle.

I made it out alive with 5 confirmed assists to our fighters. I don't think it was enough, but it was enough to get back at them for what they did to our guys. Before we dispersed I managed to pick up Austin's escape pod by chance as I was leaving the scene. I set course back to Norfolk, landed and got Austin to the med bay, god I hope he makes a full recovery.

Dealing with the Rogue pirate near the Texas jump gate - 13/04/836 A.S.

Reporting an incident on the path from Norfolk Shipyard to the Texas jump gate. While on patrol following strange reports of a Coalition gunboat with a Freelancer IFF in the system, I discovered a problem of a different nature. A Bullmastiff-model Rogue transport, identified as Hunter-Gold-1, was approaching the Texas jump gate.

The transport initially attempted to escape, heading for the Badlands, where I was forced to abandon the pursuit due to limited sensor coverage. However, the Rogue transport soon returned to the same location, blocking the trade route. My question about what they were doing there was answered by an attempt to rob me. After that, words became redundant.

The Hunter-Gold-1 Rogue transport was neutralized. The Sekhmet-model bomber successfully passed its baptism of fire.

Intercepting Junker carrying illegal cargo - 15/04/836 A.S.

Reporting an incident near West Point Military Academy. During a routine cargo scan of a passing Junkers IFF frigate, identified as the John Paul, I discovered illegal goods, namely black market arms and slog. The frigate's captain tried to evade the matter, citing personal use and a "medical condition," but the laws regarding such cargo are clear.

I disabled the trade lane and, with the help of LSF Agent Patricia Woods, ensured that the illegal cargo was confiscated and transported for disposal. Given Junker's cooperation and the small amount of illegal cargo, I released the frigate without the fine this time.

Agent Woods and I had a brief conversation about my bomber before I returned for its scheduled inspection. I shall continue its evaluation and testing.

Lieutenant Kelso, end of report.

Defending the border - 20/04/836 A.S.

Reporting an incident near the planet Denver. During a patrol, sensors of my ship detected a signal of an Outcast ship identified as JohnTheDotCom, rapidly moving toward the jump gate to the Galileo system.

I moved to intercept, also detecting a Rogue bomber, Bungalow.Bill. Given the tense situation caused by the logistics efforts lately, I decided to destroy the bomber, which posed a considerable threat to the transports.

Attempting to pursue the bomber, I was attacked by an Outcast fighter, which engaged me and forced me to abandon the pursuit. During the ensuing battle, the Outcast fighter was eliminated, but the Rogue bomber managed to escape. Given the damage sustained during the duel, I did not attempt to pursue the bomber further into the asteroid field, instead proceeding to the planet Denver for necessary repairs.

I've attached a recodring below. It's a bit damaged, but should still be good enough for analysis of Sekhmet's performance.

Lieutenant Kelso, end of report.

Operation: Sartorial Progress Report: - 19/04/836 A.S

Esteemed High Command,

I am pleased to report that the first drops of the lifeblood of our ongoing operation is secured. Per the operation briefing, I’ve cracked open the inventory at the Deep Space Engineering outpost,
Copperland, out in Coronado, and successfully shipped a total of 1,001 Interior Systems.

They were sitting on a rather lovely supply out there in the dark. I will be probing their and other stockpiles even further.
If there is more hardware to be acquired, I will keep the convoy running and haul those systems directly to our operational complex near Norfolk.
We can not leave these vital assets behind.

The delivery logs have been attached to this log.

Otter, over and out.

Ship name : Sunbucks-04

Subject: LSF-DEA Patrol Report

Target ID: LSF and Liberty Navy

Location: Colorado

Agent L here with my latest patrol report. I was notified by one of my LPI buddies, one Jack_B-17:, that a ship allegedly involved in civilian murders in the Galileo system was spotted. Ship name was Pappy, a "Freelancer" using a Bullmastiff Pirate Transport. We attempted to detain him but no surrender was in sight so we were forced on to fire on the vessel. My hits did not register since I focused on the shields but that was fine.

We both continued out patrol around Galileo when my partner found the most interesting thing there is. A single Molly vessel named Ceoladh. They were a long way from home that is and they were engaged with Navy personnel. We issued a warning to the vessel to leave but they were tryin to evade us and the navy ships.

After we left the area, we proceeded to keep an eye on them since they weren't making as much effort to reach the nearest gate and we also got a threat them from them. A quick fight ensued with them being turned to space dust. Kill recorded.

Unfortunately, guncams and pictures aren't available due to my onboard camera being damaged.

Side note, I am curious how a Molly Gunboat managed to slip by our Navy, and I'll admit, past LSF as well...

LIBERTY NAVY PATROL REPORT

Patrol Report

Cadet Valenzuela checking in,

Starting a routine patrol after undocking from Norfolk Shipyard. Patrol path is to go around New York, trying to get some practice in as this will be a real solo patrol ever since Austin's injuries from the last big fight with the Xenos. He is still in the hospital so I hope he recovers swiftly.

I started from Norfolk and took the trade lane to Baltimore Shipyard. I had some trouble with my ship so I made a quick pitstop at Baltimore and had my top turret checked out. After I took the trade lane to Planet Manhattan and immediately got a ping on my scanner of a nearby Outcast vessel.

It was a Dromedary under the name Eira Kuunari. This Outcast was a weird one, was conversing normally until they called me less attractive because of not taking Cardamine, which I honestly took personally. They also asked me to escort them out but I was not taking any chances. I turned my weapons on them and started a firefight.

I will also include the blackbox data of the entire conversation because the entire thing was a joke. During the fight they kept going on and on about their grandma, and French toast, which they tried to bribe me with. But to my dismay the problems regarding my ship came back
and I was having trouble controlling it. The outcast took the chance when they noticed my ship was having problems and booked it towards the Pittsburgh Debris Field. I gave chase but realized later that I ran out of cruise disruptors.

In the end, I did not manage to take down the ship. It was an embarrassment on my part as cadet of the 1st Fleet and will accept any punishment that comes with this. I went back to Norfolk and had my Defender checked out.

Attached files:

Note to self.....don't get ship repairs from Baltimore anymore, I'll get my ship checked in Norfolk from here on out.

Also, a package arrived for me not long after, it was a couple slices of French toast. How the hell did they get this in here..

Operation: Sartorial Progress Report: - 24/04/836 A.S

Consider this my latest operational update.

Since my last report, I have routed over two thousand Interior Systems down to the Dahlgren Cargo Annex, bringing my current deliveries to exactly 3,432 units. As for Avionic Systems, the tally stands at a confirmed 423. My ship took a nasty hit during a recent altercation that unfortunately fragmented my local data drives, but the Dahlgren dock master has verified and sealed the manifest on my behalf. I trust this steady flow of hardware keeps our efforts moving at a brisk pace.

Furthermore, while flying a perimeter sweep near West Point Academy, I intercepted two Freelancer pilots operating under the callsigns Hunter-X1 and Hunter-X2. The second pilot was flying a Kestrel and hauling some highly volatile cargo: four Liberty Rogues and one Outcast pilot.

Out of concerns for their own safety, I asked the Kestrel to surrender the pilots to my custody. The Kestrel pilot complied. I have since deposited the captives at Fort Bush. Naval Intelligence can pry whatever secrets they want out of them before they are permanently relocated to an LPI cell.
