Liberty Navy [LN] - The Professional - 12-15-2010 To you, perhaps not. To me, who was raised a little bit more respectably, and with there being minors who play on the server, it is not something you should be saying. Using "Douche" as an insult is far more abrasive than, say, Ass or Hell. Perhaps I'm wrong, and society has grown accustomed to insults as a common, respectable thing, but I'm stating my opposition to his choice of words. It's highly doubtable that he intended to insult the player directly. Buuut hell, what am I posting here anyway. Theehee Liberty Navy [LN] - Samuel Zanders - 12-15-2010 ' Wrote:It seems your member Maximo Valeri finds it okay to swear in system chat, and when I attempted to talk to him about it, I simply received a "Report me if you don't like it." First. It was Role-Play, and haha... "doucheface" being a "swearword". Completely in character and response to another one. The Role-Play is right here: [15.12.2010 03:03:52] .:j:.Mac: is that true Valeri? You love Xenos? [15.12.2010 03:04:17] [LN]-Maximo.Valeri: The only thing I love junker is to find a reason to beat you upside down. [15.12.2010 03:04:46] .:j:.Mac: I love unbiased professionalism in the armed forces [15.12.2010 03:04:54] [LN]-Maximo.Valeri: Anytime doucheface. Secondly, this "blatant insult to independent pilots" and "ordering Dreadnought to fire at fighters." Where is the proof? Show me. And we will act upon it. The only thing I heard was that you shot Tia Whitehall for no good reason. And that will have Role-Play consequences. [15.12.2010 03:04:54] [LN]-Tia.Whitehall: that LNS- Black.steel fired a mortar at me because he didnt like what i was saying (Which we have video-evidence of). Liberty Navy [LN] - Shryke - 12-15-2010 Well, a douche is defined as; a : a jet or current of liquid (as a cleansing solution) directed against or into a bodily part or cavity (as the vagina)
b : an act of cleansing with a douche So, being called a doucheface I wouldn't classify as cursing. It's a hilarious insult though. Liberty Navy [LN] - The Professional - 12-15-2010 I fired a mortar into space, yes. The maximum range on a mortar is not over five klicks, which is what Tia was beyond when I had fired it. I've fired hundreds of mortars into space. If you like to think firing into the air is 'shooting' someone, then be my guest. If you can hit a Liberator at maximum range, while it is moving, with a mortar, I will give you my dreadnaught, armor, guns, and all. Liberty Navy [LN] - Samuel Zanders - 12-15-2010 And the reason I said: "Go ahead and report me." (Over PM and in // marked statement). Is because you went: [15.12.2010 03:05:00] LNS-Black.Steel: //Watch your language. Which is basically equalled to, "don't say that again or I will report you." So report me then, if you think it's against the rules. What am I supposed to do? Start arguing with you over such a funny little word? Not worth my time for that, sorry but I'm busy being Maximo Valeri. ' Wrote:I fired a mortar into space, yes. If the evidence is solid enough, then it will be act upon. Else shot down. Either way, I will do it in Role-Play. Now, I want you to show me some proof that [LN] ordered a dreadnought to fire at Fighters, and insulting Independent Pilots. Because the first is against [LN] code of conduct and the second is something I'm actively working against on all fronts. Examples being: Cooperating with the Assault wing. Cooperating with the TF7 wing. Cooperating with the Secondary Fleet Register Managers to improve relationships and make sure their voice is heard. Liberty Navy [LN] - The Professional - 12-15-2010 Yes. There is this thing called responsibility. I told you to watch your language. Why? So if there does happen to be easily offended people, or minors around, you dont need to get into a situation. I did not tell you I was going to report you, nor did I have any intentions to. If there is someone who was offended, well, you reap what you sow. If it has to come to that, fine. Here you go. ![]() ![]() ![]() Liberty Navy [LN] - Samuel Zanders - 12-15-2010 ' Wrote:Yes. If you found Maximo Valeri on the other hand to be rude, it's just the way he is, he is rude towards his own superiors, towards Secondary Fleet, towards Civilians, towards everyone. No need to get so personally upset and start drama with no basis for it. Which is in my opinion, what you are doing, getting this worked up over the word "doucheface". I have already dealt with similar complaints with the Junkers, I'm tired of going through it again. If you have a problem. Report me. Because I can assure you, this Faction and its respective leaders will take no action against my character saying IN ROLE-PLAY the word "doucheface". You are posting in vain if you believe you can get some sort of "reparation" out of it. If there is someone who was offended, well, you reap what you sow.The only time one should tell another to watch their language is if they have violated the swearing rules. Not if you think what he said might offend easily offended people. Only if it violates the rules. Calling someone a doucheface in roleplay is not against the rules. In fact, there are much much much worse words you can say, in-roleplay, and still be within the rules. It's when these words are used out of roleplay, that it matters. |
