I have begun my patrol in Omicron Delta and the nearby unknown system. Especially Bounty Hunters and Nomads have proven to be troublesome. I exchanged my Scimitar for a Taiidan Bomber, which - although a lot slower - is more suitable for this kind of hostile enviroment. I am confident that, once I've completed outfitting my new ship, I'll be able to perform my rounds without much hinderance.

Pilot Sid Welsh said that he had intercepted a encrypted transmission coming from Vespucci, and lead me to the spot where it had come from. By routing all power to the HFB Silverstorm 's massive scanners, we managed to pick something up: A faint set of trails, made up of some kind of plasma trail. Also, there was a slight gravitational disturbance, similar to that of a jump hole. Now, we know that there are no jump holes in that area, so it must be something else. But... there was something more. We picked up a small sample of some sort organic material, slightly nomad-like, but pitch-back in color. We are having it examined now.
In the mean time, we have sent a team to investigate the gravitational disturbance. They have so far reported nothing.

Hmmm, very interesting. I cannot seem to decrypt this information with the Renegade's limited decryption gear, so I have relayed the transmision to the massive decryption computers at Monterrey Base. Maybe they can make something out of it.
Continue to conduct Vespucci patrols, as the menace SirRed is about. Remember, send me your data you acquired on the black organic object. This seems like something I've heard of before, but never seen. I truly hope it is not what I know as the "Sentinel".
