RE: Rheinland Federal Polizei Message Dump - Snoflek - 08-14-2016 ![]() ![]() PRIORITY: Omicron Level Priority ENCRYPTION: Maximal IDENTIFICATION: Kadett Alexander Krupp SOURCE: Battleship Karlsruhe, Stuttgart system SUBJECT: Patrol Report (Kadett Krupp. 003) Mein Gott. I don't even know how to begin this report, my hands are still shaking. I was on a routine patrol in Stuttgart, we had just returned (My wing and I) from an emergency call by a team of 3 Dauman miners in the Omega-11 System that were being harassed by two Red Hessians. We chased them into the Adjoining system, but were forced to return after they left our Zone of Influence. Unfortunately, one of the Dauman vessels was destroyed before we arrived, and the miners decided to return to Stuttgart instead of continuing their operation. On the Way back, we exited the trade lane at Stuttgart to see a Military Battlecruiser the "Omega-1" Also on Patrol in response to the Hessian Cruiser spotted in system. Also Encountered was an ALG Gunboat the Schneeflocke, as well as the Bounty Hunter Vessel Mephistopheles. After a brief inspection the Schneeflocke was cleared however, then two more contacts entered the Area near Planet Stuttgart. A Civllian trasnport carrying civilians (It was later thought for the purposes of being sold into slavery) and a Rheinland Battlecruiser under the the tag RNS-Claus. When I halted the Trader, the Military vessel (Also Carrying Civilians, Likely for the same purpose) claimed to have the Authority to grant the Civilian to not only continue on his way (Out of Rheinland Space, as well). When I informed him he could not, in fact, do such, as only the High Command could, he claimed to be the Reichsfuhrer, the second highest authority in Rheinland. However, a MND Agent that was standing by the Omega-1 Battelcruiser informed me that he was not i nfact whom he claimed to be. The transport made a run for it while we were in a tense Standoff with the Battlecruiser. The MND Agent, assisted by the Bounty Hunter took off in pursuit, but the transport resisted. However the two were able to bring Civilians safely to a nearby station and no lives were lost. As they returned the so called "Reichsfuhrer" grew increasingly erratic and showed signs of being under the Influence of either Alcohol or Mind-Altering Drugs. Then however, the situation changed as a BND Agent entered the system also claiming to be the head of his department, to the assistance of the RNS-Claus. However this one behaved just as erratically as the 'Reichsfuhrer' and when he began to scream into the comms about "Real Life" and "Games" And Living in "Dark Basements" and finally claiming to be the same trader that had just been destroyed! Clearly they had some kind of mental incompetent or...worse....As well as a variety of threats, obscenities I scanned his ship and found him to be carrying Nomad equipment. This explained much to me, as He and the RNS-Claus attempted to land, likely to spread the Nomad plague to Planet Stuttgart. I sent a message to the Planet to deny docking rights, and when confronted, the BND Agent opened fire on us with his Nomad weaponry. However, thanks to the Intervention of the Omega-1 and ALG-Schneeflocke he was quickly brought down. When this happened, the RNS-Claus brought out just about every threat he could think of, and refused to cooperate on his arrest, and opened fire. Immediately the Omega-1, Schneeflocke, Myself, Kadett Guinevere, the Bounty Hunter and the MND Agent opened fire and destroyed his ship before it could attempt to forcibly dock and spread the Nomad Threat. As I went to thank the various Parties, less than a Minute after the RNS-Claus's destruction my ship's cockpit lit up with Countless enemies in system. In total, 5 Red Hessian Cruisers and two Heavy Fighters. We, including the Bounty Hunter, ALG-Schneeflocke, Omega-1, MND and RFP moved to Intercept them, however we simply could not stand against the Firepower of 5 Cruisers and two Heavy Fighters. My ship was damaged extremely, and I had to set down on the Karlsruhe for repairs. The Last Transmission that I received was the Rheinland Military were imbound, having pursued the Red Hessian vessels from the Previous system. RNS-Claus
RE: Rheinland Federal Polizei Message Dump - Snoflek - 08-16-2016 ![]() ![]() PRIORITY: High ENCRYPTION: Omicron IDENTIFICATION: Dr. Heinrich Stroben SOURCE: Planet Stuttgart, Stuttgart System SUBJECT: Kadett Alexander Krupp, Medical Status Patient Status: Critical Kadett Krupp was admitted to Stuttgart's Frieden Memorial General Hospital at 19:46, on the 16th of August. When paramedics arrived at the scene of his crashed ship, they found the Polizist badly wounded. His ship had nearly completely burned up on forced atmospheric entry, and when medics got to the man himself he was not breathing. After he was resuscitated, he was rushed to the General Hospital. After 5 Hours of emergency surgery via a team of 8 veteran surgeons, Kadett Krupp was finally declared stable, though still in Critical condition. The extent of his injuries include, after thorough examination : Numerous first and some second degree burns,A Broken jaw, several fractures in the skull, a traumatized solar plexus, 17 cracked ribs, ruptured diaphragm, Shattered right arm, both legs were also nearly completely broken. His lungs were punctured in four separate locations by his fractured ribs. Though the subject has not yet awoken from his coma, it is expected that he will suffer from at least partial deafness, possible blindness as well. Weather he will ever walk again is still unknown. He will likely spend several hourss in a coma, if not days. The Exact cause of his injuries is a Heart Attack, coupled with a very violent reentry with Stuttgart's atmosphere. The Only thing that saved his life was sheer luck, his ship's landing was cushioned by Lake Clarlicht. Had he not crashed there, it is likely he would have died. Even with this luck however, his condition remains critical, and staff are on emergency standby in case of his condition worsening. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Classified Post Script: Guncam footage from Kadett Krup's ship was recovered, however technicians are still attempting to recover and sharpen the images, as the data harness was sadly damaged. During a regular patrol I've responded to an emergency call from Freiburg Station, Stuttgart. Once I arrived, my scanners picked up several Red Hessian ships, including fighters and gunboats. During the fight, Hessian reinforcements appeared out of nowhere and after quite some time fighting, my ship couldn't handle it anymore. Several Hessian ships have been taken out, but there were also men and women falling on our side. The Polizei Reserve Department gunboat going by the name "Manticor" was probably manned with a rookie captain, thus I called him out due to safety measures. Once another Hessian gunboat arrived, the Manticor engaged again and has been destroyed by massive firepower of several Hessian ships, including the enemy gunboat. Unfortunately, there has been lack of communication on our side, which is an issue to be fixed urgently. I assume more attacks in Stuttgart System by the Hessians, thus we should be prepared. A Variety of events will be covered in today's report. The first of which was my encounter with two Freelancer pilots, armed with Rheinland Military grade equipment. When I attempted to approach them they opened fire. I retreated to a safe distance and attempted to hail them again, however they did not respond. With no alternatives left, I had to engage both targets. Do to one of the having been a freighter, I was able to safely remove their threat. However men with the exact same name returned within a minute and opened fire on me again, I was forced to call for assistance. By the time it arrived however, the two had disappeared, vanishing from all visuals scanners. With nothing else remaining on scanners, we fell in together and began a standard patrol route. My partner excused himself at the border station in Hamburg, claiming engine troubles. I continued into New Berlin, only to un-expectedly encounter a ship bearing slaves. When I halted the craft and began to question the transport's captain, a Republican vessel arrived on it's way to the Hamburg system. A few brief words were exchanged and, obvious the transport's captain took offence, for he or she fired several volleys at the Republican Transport. I proceeded to place them under arrest and escort them directly to Vierlande. Guncam Image: 1
RE: Rheinland Federal Polizei Message Dump - Mercarryn - 08-25-2016 ![]() ![]() PRIORITY: High ENCRYPTION: Medium IDENTIFICATION: Oberst Thomas Wolthers SOURCE: Brandenburg station, New Berlin system SUBJECT: Report Oberst Wolthers hier. Below you may read mein latest situation reports of patrolling Rheinland. Liberty Battlegroup in Hamburg We received several emergency calls from the Hamburg system about ein Liberty Navy battlegroup. At first I thought this would be a bad joke, until I exited the lane at planet Hamburg and jumped right into a capital fleet formation of the Liberty Navy. Wachmann Krupp and I asked the Liberty Navy for their reason of being hier and ordered them to leave after they mentioned patrol routine and small incursion. Perhaps these Libertonians saw this as a joke, but neither me nor Wachmann Krupp were laughing. As the Libertonian capital ships rejected our orders to leave Rheinland we had to engage them. In the end we were successfull in defeating the LIbertonians with the help fo the mlitary and the Buro. Due to the battle being in orbit of planet Hamburg there might have been collateral damage to the docking ports and especially Altona station as ein LIbertonian gunboat tried to crash into the station. This could be avoided in the end, but some debris from it might have damaged Altona. At the end of the fight an Admiral of the LIberty Navy jumped into Hamburg. He was interrogated by Admiral Sterr and me. Because of Admiral Sterr's request, the exact logs of this discussion shall be kept disclosed for now, but higher ranks within the Polizei will be given access to it. Logs: * * * * * * * Hessian cruiser "Eclipse" Some time after, the knonwn Hessian cruiser Eclipse was roaming Hamburg system. As I was all alone in my bomber, I hired a freelancer to kill the ship. To our luck a Buro cruiser showed up and in the end the cruiser was destroyed when it tried to escape through the sun corona. Unfortunately, my Bergelmir was ein bit too close the corona, too and was destroyed, though the Buro cruiser was able to pick up my escape pod before I shared the same fate. Logs: * * Signing off. END OF TRANSMISSION RE: Rheinland Federal Polizei Message Dump - Snoflek - 09-01-2016 ![]() ![]() PRIORITY: Low ENCRYPTION: Low IDENTIFICATION: Wachmann Alexander Krupp SOURCE: Brandenburg Station, New Berlin SUBJECT: Patrol Report (Wachmann Krupp 002) Guten Tag. Following beneath is a brief summary and explanations of my most recent patrols. Assisting the reserves When I began on mein patrol in New Berlin, I came across a Polizei Kadett and a Rheinland Military reserve officer attempting to enforce the laws of Rheinland, however their etiquette during such activities was found to be somewhat lacking, as was their knowledge of Rheinland's laws. Before any serious complains were filed, I intervened in the situation and took impromptu control of their formation and resolved the situation. Following that, we spent an hour engaging in regular patrol with minimal encounters, though it did give me a chance to put some of my Police training to work educating others on the law, rather than enforcing it against someone breaking it. It's always a welcome change when the law is followed. Preventable Escape After returning to New Berlin towards the end of my patrol, I rendezvoused with Hochkommissar Erika Keller for the purposes of [REDACTED]. Then, Suddenly, one Mammoth class Liberty Transport and one Sunburst class Freighter filled with Rheinland Ambassadors was seen leaving the mooring fixture of the Planet. When ordered to halt at the trade lane, do to violating the laws of Rheinland, in relation to the transportation of passengers on bulk transporters, they blew the trade lane forcing myself and the BDM Agent to cruise in Pursuit. They were caught up to at the Hamburg>New Berlin Jump Gate, but they forcibly docked at the Police Station. It is unknown whom they bribed, but upon our docking on the station the two seem to have vanished. Do to this strange occurrence, the two-thousand seven-hundred and fourty Ambassadors are being declared kidnapped. Investigations into the exact circumstances is well underway. This will not happen again.
RE: Rheinland Federal Polizei Message Dump - Snoflek - 09-03-2016 ![]() ![]() PRIORITY: Low ENCRYPTION: Low IDENTIFICATION: Wachmann Alexander Krupp SOURCE: Brandenburg Station, New Berlin SUBJECT: Patrol Report (Wachmann Krupp 003) Guten Tag. The last days have been quiet, and my report therefor shall be quite minimalist I'm afraid. I engaged in routine patrol activities, from Hamburg's Hudson Jump Gate, all the way to Stuttgart's Omega-7 Jump Gate, with the occasional detour into Frankfurt to monitor that there was no artifact smuggling going on, as I've come to realize it is a popular route to bring Artifacts into Rheinland and the remainder of the houses through the Munich Jump Hole in Frankfurt. That was not the case today, and I primarily encountered ALG Vessels in the trade lanes, diligently going about their work. I also encountered a SMH-Gunboat however, they were fully within the bounds of the law, and cooperated quite quickly and answered the few questions I had. There was only one occurrence of law-breaking on my watch, and that was a Freelancer Transport captain that was shipping black market munitions to the Hessians in Dresden. I pursued him nearly to Vogtland, where I was forced to break off do to heavy hessian presence. The Rheinland Military's battleship stationed at the cloud's edge deterred any pursuit. This concludes the report for the last few days.
RE: Rheinland Federal Polizei Message Dump - Dudeman325 - 09-05-2016 ![]() PRIORITY: High ENCRYPTION: Omicron (See Incident Report - 003) IDENTIFICATION: Polizeikadett Karayn Taran SOURCE: Brandenburg Base, New Berlin SUBJECT: Initial Patrol Report, --REDACTED-- Sighting I'm not entirely sure how to make sense of my first day on an official patrol. They said no day is the same in the RFP in the Academy, but I definitely didn't understand the gravity of that statement. So I guess I'll just go incident by incident, and hope that the Senior Officers can put the pieces together. Before I begin, I want to specifically mention Wachmann Krupp, my partner in this patrol, as being incredibly helpful, informative, patient, and dutiful during the entire patrol, despite the sometimes hectic nature of my first official flight, and recommend him for any commendation that Senior Officers deem worthy. He was also most gracious in offering to allow me to submit this report instead of him, to receive credit towards my advancement beyond probationary status. I also want to mention that I was dismayed to find that I made the rookie mistake of not turning on my guncam at the beginning of the patrol. Wachmann Krupp informed me that his guncam was enabled, however, and I hope he appends any footage to this report that he finds to be relevant. PRE-INCIDENT REPORT At Polizei Plaza on Planet New Berlin, I was met with Wachmann Krupp and Kadett Schenke for the final ceremony in my Academy training, and official induction as a Kadett in the Rheinland Federal Polizei, the passing of the ID badge. After some initial confusion at the registration office, I was shown to my personal Phantom-Class Fighter and launched to high orbit above New Berlin, where I entered formation with the Wachmann and other Kadett to begin our patrol. Relevant comm logs follow. INCIDENT REPORT - 001 At this point, Wachmann Krupp was forced to proceed ahead, while I was filing my registration, after picking up a Junker vessel on TLAGSNET in the Hamburg system. Kadett Schenke stayed behind to form up with me to catch up to the Wachmann. We met with Wachmann Krupp near Dortmund Smelter, where he was escorting a Junker vessel IDed as "John_Bear" through Rheinland space to the Frankfurt system on his way to his destination in the Sigma-13 system. Wachmann Krupp took the lead during the escort through the trade lanes, with Kadett Schenke and myself following. Junker vessel then left Rheinland space peacefully without further incident. INCIDENT REPORT - 002 After escorting the Junker vessel out of Rheinland space, Wachmann Krupp gave me some instruction on weapon loadouts while we were traveling back to New Berlin, but during instruction TLAGSNET scanned a hostile VWA / Bundschuh vessel behind us in Frankfurt. I will admit another mistake I made, my TLAGSNET console was not online before this point, as I was relying on the Wachmann for guidance during my first patrol. We met with the hostile just on the Frankfurt side of the jumpgate to New Berlin. The hostile showed a minor amount of cooperation by agreeing to be guided a few K away from the jumpgate to continue the discussion. The Wachmann proceeded to interrogate and inform the hostile that he was under arrest, while the other Kadett and myself kept one eye on the encounter, and the other on scanners for other possible vessels attempting to interfere or sneak past us, which we did not see. The Wachmann attempted to convince the hostile that it was mistaken in the political affiliation it had chosen, but truth fell on deaf ears as it so often does with terrorists. After it was clear that all attempts at peacefully resolving the situation were lost, the Wachmann announced that he was powering up his weapons, and the hostile did the same. Both vessels opened fire on each other, and instinct told me to engage the hostile to protect my comrade, but the Wachmann told me to stand down and continue scanning for incoming vessels, which did not appear. The hostile was incredibly skilled, and the Wachmann's vessel suffered a hull breach after bravely putting his life on the line for Rheinland. At this point, Kadett Schenke and myself engaged the hostile, but this effort was futile as we were outskilled and outgunned. Our escape pods clustered together, and after contact with the hostile was lost, we were retrieved by a recovery transport and brought back to New Berlin for medical examination, initial debriefing, and requisition of new vessels. I'm told the wrecks of our old vessels were hauled away for repair and refitting, but after my time with ALG salvage crews, and knowing how RFP salvage crews operate, I wouldn't be surprised if they couldn't find a single useful part. INCIDENT REPORT - 003 ENCRYPTED OMICRON INCIDENT REPORT - 004 Wachmann Krupp launched from New Berlin, and we moved out toward Hamburg to attempt to intercept the Liberty warship. We intercepted the warship in New Berlin near Sector E-4. The vehicle halted its engines after being warned multiple times. My understanding is that Wachmann Krupp was able to contact more RFP vessels at this point. The warship was identified as an Outcast, most likely a stolen vessel, as I cannot possibly conceive a situation where even the Liberty Navy would authorize the Outcasts to pilot a warship directly toward Planet New Berlin. The Wachmann ordered me to meet with an RFP vessel heading this way from Hamburg. Completely overwhelmed by the day's events at this point, I moved toward Hamburg as fast as I could, meeting with Oberst Thomas Wolthers near Dortmund Smelter, closely followed by RNC-Moskau. We moved to the last location I saw the warship, before being informed that the warship had moved slightly, and were given its new coordinates. The Oberst, RNC-Moskau, and myself met with the Wachmann and RFP|Chemnitz at the warship. The warship was as minimally cooperative as it could be, agreeing to be escorted out of Rheinland space, but not agreeing to pay the full amount of the fine for piloting a warship illegally in protected space. The warship agreed to jettison its captive Liberty pilot, which I tractored aboard my vessel. Another Outcast appeared briefly on radar before moving out of range. Oberst Wolthers attempted to regain contact with the second vessel, but was unable and returned to the previous incident. The Oberst let the Wachmann proceed with handling the incident, with the recommendation of issuing a fine to the warship. RFP|Chemnitz advised reconsidering issuing the fine. The warship attempted to negotiate the amount of the fine, which would be against all Rheinland Polizei regulations. The warship then attempted to deceive us in stating it did not have enough credits to pay the full fine. The Wachmann saw through this ruse, and warned the vessel that its shield would be brought down if it did not comply immediately. The warship responding by arming all weapons, and destroyed the Wachmann's vessel in almost an instant. I opened fire, and my vessel was the next to be brought down. Unfortunately, I did not further witness the engagement due to blacking out in my escape pod, and am unaware of the status of the Oberst, the RFP|Chemnitz, the RNC-Moskau, or the Liberty Pilot I tractored on board, and have not been fully debriefed of the engagement due to the nature of my previous Incident Report. I don't really know how else to end this report. Hopefully anything Wachmann Krupp appends to it will prove to be useful. I am currently recovering on Brandenburg Base, anxiously awaiting the medical staff to clear me for another patrol. Kadett Karayn Taran signing off. --TRANSMISSION CLOSED-- --TRANSMISSION RE-OPENED-- --OMICRON ENCRYPTION APPLIED-- --TRANSMISSION CLOSED-- RE: Rheinland Federal Polizei Message Dump - Dudeman325 - 09-05-2016 ![]() PRIORITY: Low ENCRYPTION: Low IDENTIFICATION: Polizeikadett Karayn Taran SOURCE: Brandenburg Base, New Berlin SUBJECT: Patrol Report - 002 05.09.823 PRE-INCIDENT REPORT I was cleared from the medbay at 1700 hours on Brandenburg and shown to a Phantom-Class Fighter. After configuring my loadout, at 1720 I launched from the base and began my patrol solo. I then took the trade lane toward the Battleship Strausberg, where I encountered the RNC-Malkwitz. I greeted the Malkwitz, and asked about any relevant events. The comm officer on board informed me that there was a situation where a Red Hessian had captured a Polizei officer, but the officer was safely returned to our custody without further incident. INCIDENT REPORT - 001 Immediately after I closed communication with RNC-Malkwitz, a vessel undocked from the Battleship Strausberg, and attempted to move toward the trade lane to Bonn Station. I hailed the vessel, and asked it to submit for a cargo scan and destination request, and the pilot complied. The pilot informed me that it was heading to Planet Holstein, which I realize now was suspicious as he was heading toward the Stuttgart system, not Frankfurt. I assume at this point that the Malkwitz had already moved out of the local area, as it did not attempt to assist me in interrogating the pilot. I scanned the ship's cargo, showing only Oxygen Canisters, and informed him that his cargo scan checked out. I then scanned his weapons, and noticed that the ship was armed with multiple Hornviper weapons of Fighter class in both gun and turret mounts. After a quick reference to my handbook, I informed the pilot that those weapons are restricted to government approved vessels in Rheinland space, and asked him to dock with the Battleship to exchange the weapons for legal replacements. The pilot asked for permission to look for a license for the weapons, which I allowed, while I also checked my console for a possible registration. I noticed that there are no individuals that have a license for Rheinland restricted weapons, only corporations, and informed the pilot that I had nothing in my records. The pilot asked for permission to be escorted to Bonn Station to exchange his weapons, which I believed to be acceptable at the time, but on later review I suspected that the Battleship would have the allowed weapons, which I will look into after this report. I also realize that I should have ordered the pilot to dock with the Battleship to unmount the weapons, then fly escorted without weapons to Bonn Station, but did not think of it at the time as I was still concerned for a civilian's safety. I asked the pilot to proceed through the trade lane as I followed. Before I could dock with the trade lane, the pilot somehow both shot down the trade lane with its weapons and finalized docking procedures at the same time, which I did not believe was possible. I pursued the suspect with cruise engines and informed all system authorities, but the vessel escaped to the Stuttgart system and was not further detected. During the pursuit, I contacted RNC-Karlsruhe, a ship in the system that I had noticed on TLAGS, for assistance in apprehending the suspect, but after I had lost the suspect I was informed of the lack of pursuit capabilities of Karlsruhe compared to a fighter. One further mistake I realize I made was that I did not check the vessel's ID, nor identification of its class, and I did not take footage with my guncam during the incident, although I believe the ship was of Liberty origin of a Fighter class. INCIDENT REPORT - 002 After losing the suspect in the previous incident, I proceeded to Planet New Berlin. There I met a ship that I had previously spotted on TLAGS as carrying Artifacts (ID: Schrumpfnudel), which I have not submitted in an official report as I was informed that TLAGS scans are not permissible as evidence of a crime. The Battleship Karlsruhe was in the area, and I informed it of the suspected smuggler's status, upon which I was informed that the Karlsruhe had just recently apprehended the smuggler and fined it apx. 3.000.000 credits as well as destroying the contraband. At this point I moved to investigate a possible violation of human cargo being moved in a non-Liner vessel in Frankfurt heading toward New Berlin. I met the vessel at the New Berlin side of the jumpgate to Frankfurt, where I asked the suspect to halt engines and submit to a scan. The scan returned that the vessel was now carrying a legal cargo, Fertilizers, and was a Transport vessel, not a Liner, with a Daumann Independant Contract ID. I did not recognize the ship's affiliation tag, but assumed that GDTC is a subsidiary of Daumann. I informed the vessel that the scan checked out, and asked if it needed an escort to its claimed destination, Planet Baden Baden, as I was still suspicious of it due to the TLAGS scan earlier. The vessel declined to be escorted, and I allowed the vessel to proceed as I no longer had reason to detain it. INCIDENT REPORT - 003 A few minutes later, TLAGS picked up a VWA vessel in the Hamburg system, on an apparent course toward New Berlin. I moved to intercept, and located the hostile attempting to cruise away from the jump gate to Hamburg in New Berlin, with a heading toward the Aachenfeld. I ordered the hostile to halt its engines immediately, with the intent of performing an interrogation and finding a peaceful resolution, but the hostile did not comply. I next informed the hostile that I was required to stop its engines with force if it did not comply. The hostile issued a threat, cut cruise engines and powered weapons with clear intent to use lethal force, so I responded that I was arming weapons with intent to engage. After a battle lasting apx. 8min 30sec, my vessel's power core was disabled by the blast wave from one of my own mines, and I lost contact with the hostile. I was retrieved inside my vessel by an RFP Recovery Team, where it was towed to Planet New Berlin for repair. My guncam was destroyed beyond retrieval during the encounter, and all data on it was lost. INCIDENT REPORT - 004 Just over an hour later, I was shown to another Phantom-Class Fighter to resume my patrol after a medical scan and debriefing, and I am pleased to report that I recognized many components that had been scrapped, repaired, and reinstalled from the first vessel I was issued on my initial patrol yesterday. Perhaps I was wrong with the comments I made on the abilities of RFP Maintenance Crews in my last report. This time, I was to meet with Wachmann Krupp again in high orbit above New Berlin. Almost immediately, the Wachmann detected a Liberty Gunboat in the Hamburg system, and we moved through the trade lanes to intercept and interrogate. On the way, Oberst Wolthers joined our patrol as we entered the Hamburg system. Wachmann Krupp was the farthest ahead, and sighted the vessel near Planet Kiel and the Battleship Westfalen. The Oberst and I arrived shortly after, just as the Wachmann was beginning his questioning. The vessel was identified as an Independent Bounty Hunters Guild contractor. I began to scan the vessel as the Wachmann was questioning, and immediately uploaded the scans to my secure data storage on the network so they would not risk being lost in the event that the situation escalated, which are added at the end of this Incident Report. Oberst Wolthers advised us on finer points of Rheinland Law regarding legal ship and weapon classes and origins, and it appeared that our manuals regarding such were outdated and based on information from the now resolved war with Liberty. The Bounty Hunter was determined not to be a threat, and had complied with all requests, and was allowed to proceed with the advisement that he should register his vessel to the Official Rheinland Bounty Board to avoid further mishap. I feel that the Bounty Hunter was extremely cooperative, and should be shown the proper leniency in Rheinland space, should he register his vessel properly as advised. The Oberst then advised us to review Rheinland Law, and submit requisitions for new handbooks. Wachmann Krupp left the patrol to do so immediately, Oberst Wolthers left to file paperwork, while I resumed the patrol on my own with the promise that I would submit for a new handbook after the patrol. INCIDENT REPORT - 005 After separating from the Wachmann and the Oberst, TLAGS picked up another VWA hostile in the New Berlin system, this time near the Harzfeld. I moved to intercept, as it was likely watching the trade lanes for commercial vessels to extort under threat of violence. En route, I contacted RNC-Malkwitz and advised that I was investigating the location for VWA. I instead located the hostile over the trade lane in D5 near the Saarfeld, and my suspicions of extortion proved to be correct. I warned the hostile to power down his engines and weapons, but the hostile responded with a taunt. I then warned the hostile that it was not welcome in Rheinland, and the only peaceful resolution was to be allowed to be escorted out of Rheinland. The hostile ignored my warning as a BMM transport was passing through the trade lane below us, and the hostile dropped the lane to halt the incoming transport. The hostile issued a request to halt to the transport, and I felt, as civilians were now being threatened, that my only course of action was to engage the hostile to allow the transport to escape. I announced I was arming weapons with intent to engage, and the battle begun. During the battle, RNC-Malkwitz contacted me for a status report, and I responded that I was locked in combat, and transmitted coordinates. After this I noticed that the transport had safely moved out of scanner range, and successfully docked with the next trade lane. My vessel was disabled apx. 1min 30sec after being contacted by the Malkwitz, for an overall combat duration of apx. 3min. RNC-Malkwitz did not arrive on the scene before all my systems were disabled, and I am unsure of the resolution to this incident. I was eventually towed back to Brandenburg Base for medical scan and debriefing. Again, my guncam was disabled with all data lost. Kadett Karayn Taran signing off. --TRANSMISSION CLOSED-- |
