If there is gonna be a Canadian system then I feel their should also be and Australian system.....

It would be awesome if Bretonia had an Australia system, used largely as a prison colony with elements of mining.

Nay, the Canadians durring the Times of Satrlancer would mostly have been part of the american fleet, due to the forming of larger nations by assimilating the smaller ones. Thus, when Liberty sent its sleeper ship, the Canadians would have been on board.

Under this logic, Belgium should be on the Rheinland and Kusari should have Pacific Islanders. It is completely implausible a British-run, historically rivalrous large nation like Canada would ever merge with it's neighbour, and furthermore, why not have Mexicans in Liberty? There's a fair amount of immigration from Mexico going on right now, even..

Look at the Junkers and the names of they're system. They are LIbertonian, but they come from a spanish-influecned system.

Puerto Rico is an unincorporated US territory with some level of autonomy. Canada has been seperate from the US since it's beginnings, and has historically and presently had rivalry with the US. It's like saying Greece will merge with Iran because of Crete.

It would seem that nations would merge only if they had the same general beliefs. Then again, everyone is democratic anymore, aren't they? Save for around a dozen or so countries...

Out of who? The current nations on Earth (off the top of my head, US, UK, Saudi Arabia, France, all major players, aren't democratic), the nations represented in FL (going by strictly known data, two are from constitutional monarchies and three are from constitutional republics, not a democracy in sight) or by the governments in FL themselves (Liberty, if anything like it's forebear, is a republic, not a democracy, Bretonia is a constitional republic, Kusari an empire and Rheinland a fascist theocracy, no democracies)?

Names do not make control, and earth history or politics would mean very little to the colonists.

I think they would use American states first, until they ran out. I imagine naming an empty system something like 'Wisconsin' might be better, right?
