GMG player faction transports use ports on the Sea of Okhotsk. My Kujira is called GTS Monbetsu-Maru.
My NLH gunboat is named Tempest because it seemed to fit with our other gunboats...
l named my Firefly "Vanity." It was rather impulsive, and probably has to do with my secret love for Serenity.
I named my LPI Grizzly "Avalon" because "Atreus" was already taken :(
My KSP bomber is named Kyabetsu because it means cabbage.
My Kiretsu bomber is named Kitahena because it means Butterfly, and the pilot's name translates to Spring Cocoon.

For my GRN battleship, I wanted a name that was
1) French
2) Badass
and so I though upon what I knew about French history and came up with "Guillotine".
For my Order gunboat, I just used the name of my first character on disco, "Cobra_One" because it sounded like a cool codename for a gunboat.

Named my "bad guys" after coalition ships from starlancer. I started it back when i was a lulwut noob and really haven't broken away from it.
My legal caps are named after actual ships except 2 that are more for funnies but they are both liberty gunboats and it fits.
Only time I broke the starlancer rule is my bret dessi the Krasnaya, it started out as a merc back in 4.83 and was my first cap. I didn't have the heart to change it so it still has that awsome name.

Anyways, technically I don't own any capships on my own, but I have access to quite a few (RHA shared caps), which I also named. Our gunboats are named after famous German WW2 armoured vehicles, like [RHA]RHGB-Jagdtiger or [RHA]RHGB-Ostwind. The names are at least partially indicative of loadout.
The cruisers are named either after significant events/people ([RHA]RHC-Von.Rohe), regions of mining space ([RHA]RHC-Jeschke) or historical Earth regions/cities ([RHA]RHC-Hessen). Plenty of ways to name a capship and keep it climactic.

Well, my first named ship was my Gateway Bretonian Train, the Red Giant... for obvious reasons... big and red..
My current source of funds, a smuggling pirate train is called Twisted.PLeasure
My Shire was also called the Red Giant... however, my first idea was to call it Green.Fire ... because of 12 Type 3 guns...
Used to fly a Corvo cruiser named Firewater.. not really liked that ship much..
And, I'm contemplating making a destroyer/cruiser class ship for quite some time... For a Libertonian Idea, I forgot what I wanted to name it, besides, Libby is overcrowded... BH, I forgot... probably would be something scarry. For an Order ship idea I had something nice, and not in egyptian manner, but discarded that idea as well... current idea would be HMS Andromeda, after a historic british vessel... If I ever get enough patience to trade my way to it and not squander cash along the way..
Oh, yeah, my indy pirate is named Forsaken.Ally, and I had a LPI called Sympathetic.Oblivion.
And had a pirate called alternate.destiny
and a prison/slave liner, doing slave runs called Freedom... later rechristened U96 (I wrecked my RP with Freedom)
And, I intend to make a character named just 34779, by my forum number...
