Moving Ships to Realiztic Locations. - farmerman - 10-21-2008 Quote:Beside guard systems the Eagle should be sold on FP9, FP10 and maybe Gran Canaria. Nowhere else. In that case, so long as they're in guard systems it should be ok. Lewis and Saar will need them (off the top of my head), as atleast for the LWB those places are all quite out of their general visited area. Canaria is pretty close to the Gaians atleast. Though what about corporate escorts? It wasn't too unusual to get one for Samura place wise, but what about, say, Universal? Moving Ships to Realiztic Locations. - Niezck - 10-21-2008 Logical ship selling locations are being dealt with as far as I know. How can they protect their convoys if they can't even hold their own in a battle against pirates? The Eagle was designed by corporations, for corporations. And since when did Eagles outclass military ships? Now, about the BW line. I cannot stress this enough: BW are NOT unlawful! They, like the civilian ships, are meant for civilian use in the Borderworlds, but not House Systems. In fact, the infocard makes it sound like it was meant for the IMG and GMG, but now they have their own ships (Vipers and Taiidans), so only Mercs and Freelancers use them now. I expect the BW ships to be moved to new selling locations by the next mod release. Even if it's not, dozens of players still have RP stories for using Sabres on lawful characters. Moving Ships to Realiztic Locations. - RingoW - 10-22-2008 Blood Dragon, Sabre and Eagle are known to be the best packages of firepower, manoeuveribility and agility. They outclass every other military gear. Sure Guardian, Templar, Chimaera and Wrath have a better armour and powerplant as Eagle, but Eagle outturns all of them easily, which is the most important tactical character along with Freelancer game engine. If the Titan would be also a kind of questionable civilian ship, like you demand for BW line, would you choose it? I guess no due to its worster turning, even though it offers one of the biggest armour and the best firepower. Just be honest and say you want get your hands on better equipment the easy way to enforce your chances to win in pvp. And i'm sure Outcast players will be happy to share the Sabre, which infocard states it as Outcast ship, with lawful civilians. I also never have seen IMG or GMG using it. They are using the Civilian line. Dagger, Stiletto and Sabre are used by OC, LH, RH, BS and Stilettos used by Freelancer npc's. They are NOT civilian. Parts in the infocard are not written carefully enough as we can see. It's not lawful civilian either though... it's a Border Worlds ship, so factions that operate primarily in the Border Worlds use it. The only exception to that seem to be the Bundschuh, but not only are they close enough to the Border Worlds, they are also allied with Red Hessians. Let me make this clear: the Sabre is not an Outcast ship. It is house unaffiliated/unlawful civilian. Proof? Bundschuh are neutral to unfriendly with Outcasts, and still use the BW line. If the Sabre was Outcast, Bundies wouldn't use them, but they do. That doesn't of course mean the Sabre should be sold on Freeports.. it is an unlawful civilian ship, so it will be sold on bases of unlawfuls that use them. Eagle is house affiliated civilian, and also available to Zoners, hence why unlawfuls also get their hands on them. Moving Ships to Realiztic Locations. - RingoW - 10-22-2008 Okay, my bad then. Thought there was a line in pointing at outcast engineers. Nevertheless the Sabre is a kind of tag for Outcasts (more than for other factions) as Titan is for Corsairs and i'm still convinced no independent lawful should ever take one. AoM Moving Ships to Realiztic Locations. - Blodo - 10-22-2008 I agree AoM. All lawfuls come from house systems (with the exception of Order who has their own ships and Zoners who use Civilian line), meanwhile the Border Worlds oriented pirates use the BW line. The Falcata on the other hand does have a mention about Outcasts in it's infocard. So yeah, that one shouldn't be used by anyone else than Outcasts and allies, despite it being a BW ship... Moving Ships to Realiztic Locations. - pieguy259 - 10-22-2008 I agree with cmfalconer. Interspace is the key. They have a base in every house's capital including New York, and it makes sense for them to sell civilian ships. Put an Eagle or a Hawk or something similar on every Interspace base, that'll fix it. Moving Ships to Realiztic Locations. - Ash - 10-22-2008 About your example the eagle. (Apologies its already been said) But I noticed that alot of factions rely on it for RP, for example the Zoners, The Gaians and the IMG/GMG to a certain extent. Now wouldnt it make sense to make the eagle an other ships in similar situations as this were sold on these faction bases? I'm just slightly annoyed that some people think BW is OC. Although, I must admit I interpreted the Sabre infocard wrong. Before, I thought certain lawfuls could use it (IMG/GMG), but now I know I was wrong. I still don't think it should be OC only though. I'd say neutral-ish civilians could use it (Mercs and Freelancers), but that's really as far as it should go. I also posted this a while ago and a couple people liked the idea: Quote:Only the Dromedary and the Borderworlds Transport are sold on lawful bases. The Dromedary is sold on South Shields Refinery (IMG) and Mactan Base (LH) and the Borderworlds Transport is sold on Gas Miner Naha (GMG).Of course, this was before I knew Falcata was indeed OC, so disregard that. Also, about the "while any other Zoner base could sell the Dagger and the Stiletto," I'd say instead of ANY Zoner base, put them at a Zoner/quasi-legal base near OC space, like Freeport 6 or Yanagi Depot. I made a topic a while ago about the whole discussion here: http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23942 |
