So what I'm getting from this thread is to remove nanos from large caps and replace it with the equivalent armor that the regens give. This is to make repair ships easier to use.

I'm not sure I'd support making repair ships easier to use. Throughout Disco's life they've always been OP and whichever side had the repair ship would be the one to win. I don't want to return to those times.

You know that repair ships now have a repair gun and very little nanobots?

RE: Suggestion: Remove nanobots from battleships - Reid - 02-29-2016

Yes, I know that. And now the gun needs(?) the target's shields to be down to work. I feel like this is still a way to help stop having a cap8 BS from being fully stocked like in the days when they carried 4000 regens, because it could only bring it back to up (assuming) 1,500,000 hull, instead of being able to bring it up to 3,000,000 if the nanos were removed and added to the overall health. Yea, you could keep targeting that same ship to get it up to 3mill hull and beyond, but it would take longer since they would have to wait until the hull was drained again or their shields to go down or until the enemies stopped targeting them for healing as much as they did

Right now they are useless and will never be used. That was the whole point of this. To change that.

Remove nanobots completely

I guess this shows perfectly the communities ability to have reasonable discussions. :)

Well I guess Wesker is right that it is nigh useless to do this stuff on the forums. I got one or two good points among all the stupidity so it is good.
Thanks for the replies.

I don't see how they're useless right now, just not on the same tier of overpowered they were in the past. They can still repair, they just can't fully stock like they used to be able to

But right now they would need such a ridiculous amount of coordination that we could as well leave them out of combat and get that player another combat vessel and it will be better in all cases.

There is something in the game code called repair droid, which supposedly heals over time. I don't think anyone managed to get it to work though.
