Welcome to Liberty. Now that you know what to expect there, let me advise you trying out a different house, like Bretonia or Rheinland. I'm sure you'll have better chances to find quality roleplay than in the starter house. Or at least less lolwuttery.

I highly suggest Bretonia and Kusari as a starting house as both have a lot of rp opportunities and factions that need players, especially Kusari.

Yeah, Liberty (and the LN) haven't changed a bit in the last half-dozen years or so - even back on Disco PTC they camped Manhattan with battlecruisers and batphoned capitals at the first sign of trouble. My response to my friends post was basically "Welcome to Liberty. Now you know why we're leaving."
I've actually thought about a Kusari character - I can see a lot of potential in the exiled Imperial Navy (revere emperor, expel barbarians), but a Bretonian privateer sent to back the GCs would be a bucket of fun. The Mollys and Red Hessians also seem quite active - IRA roleplay ought to be a monkey-barrel full o' fun, and the RHA is literally running a POB extortion racket. There's all sorts of illegal goodies to get our grubby little mitts on.
